Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Phobias...
« on: August 8, 2005, 02:49 PM »
I found out I was claustrophobic when I had to have an MRI on my brain a few months ago.  They asked me and I said I didn't have any problems with it.  Once they put me in the machine I freaked and they couldn't get me out fast enough.  I've had 4 since then and they have to sedate me before I can even get near the machine.

Snakes are my biggest phobia.  Saw one in the front yard last week and me and the kids haven't been outside since.

Birds in enclosed spaces freak me out too.

I also get very paranoid about spoiled food too.  If meat looks or smells the least bit funny while I'm cooking it I'll throw it out.

Shannon --

I just recently joined JD and have just read your thread.  I wanted to let you know that my prayers are with you.  Hang in there.  I'm glad things seem to be getting a little better for you -- though I know how hard it is to be away from your son :(  What a great group of people we have here!  I hope their support and well wishes have played a small part in your great attitude!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: RIP Peter Jennings
« on: August 8, 2005, 01:02 PM »
Like I try to tell friends and loved ones about smoking.  Jennings had quit 20 years prior but the damage was already done.  Same thing happened with my Mom a while back.  She had quit 20 years back but it still was too late.
Sorry about your mom.  :'(   I quit 8 years ago next month.  :D  It was the hardest thing I have ever done.  I hope I can escape the damage that I did.  For my kids' sake at least.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: 50lbs in 6 weeks. Can I do it?

Kevin

I'm new here and I just read this thread today -- I'm anxious to hear how you did.  Reading everyone's posts has helped to give me the kick in the pants I need to get back in shape.  I lost 55lbs a couple of years ago and I felt great.  Then I gained every bit and more with my last pregnancy.   I'm ready to get back in MILF form! :-*

Coke!  I despise Pepsi.  I can SMELL the difference!  I also like Dr. Pepper and Rootbeer.

I'm glad to hear that your recover is going better, little by little.  My husband had the same surgery in April.  He had to be out of work for 12 weeks.  He's a fabricator for a NASCAR team and once he returned to work he had to be on light duty for 4 weeks.  He went absolutely bonkers while he was home.   :o   The hardest part was trying to juggle a baby and a preschooler while keeping them off of daddy.   I hope things continue to get better for you.  Just take it nice and slow.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Back-to-back X 3!

here's an alternative order I've heard of: ANH-ESB-TPM-AOTC-ROTS-ROTJ.

That sounds pretty interesting -- I'll have to try it sometime......thanks

Ask yourself this though, would they play them I-VI? Or play them IV-VI,I-III?

I'm a traditionalist when it comes to the Saga -- its gotta be IV, V, VI, I, II, III ;D

I read in an entertainment mag. (sorry I don't have the exact publication :-[) that there probably won't be a "definative" edition until GL dies -- that he'll keep tweaking and tweaking......Editor and Sound Designer Ben Burtt said he has nightmares of being in his 80's and having GL calling him at home and asking him "Do you know where the original for such-and-such is?"

Thanks a lot guys -- I love the warm welcome -- it is so refreshing.  I do have a few things from my youth -- mostly glasses, magazines and toothbrushes from the OT -- my husband has a bunch of toys that he's trying to dig up for our son -- nothing hardcore though!  A couple of TIE fighters, X-wings and a Falcon we plan to hang from his ceiling.

Newbies / Hello everyone
« on: August 4, 2005, 01:55 PM »
Hello -- I am brand new so please have patience with me.  I am so excited to be joining your forum -- it looks like its going to be a lot of fun.  I am looking forward to having a place to discuss opinions/ideas.  I'm probably just going to lurk around for a while until I figure some things out.  I've been a fan since ANH came out.  Wasn't such a big fan of the PT but they are definately growing on me -- especially since our little boy is starting to get into the saga.  I'm a stay at home mother of 2 and I love it.  Can't wait to get started! 8)
