No problem --  I'm keeping my eye on Darth Slothus ;)  Does seem like a great place to meet fellow fans.  Much nicer with a much stronger sense of camaraderie than some other places I've been.  Seems like everyone takes care of each other here and respects the fact that we are all just fans ;D

The Original Trilogy / Re: Wimpy/winey Luke....a SITH?

Even Vader's confrontation with him on Endor is a weird moment...  It's the first moment you see any level of humanity in Vader throughout the entire Saga really.  It's one of my favorite little parts of the classic trilogy though, no doubt.
Me too -- that conversation is one of my favorite scenes from the OT.  I love the resignation in Vader's voice when he tells Luke "It is too late for me, Son" :-[

Oh my god, that's hilarious!  But who said he's nearsighted?  Maybe he just thought he could jump a lot further than he really could...  ;)

Or maybe he thought he had his superhero cape on...... ;)

Zach -- from one Newbie to another -- welcome!  Seems like a great group here, despite Darth Slothus being a member ;)

True -- the robes do seem to be pretty common attire.  I didn't see the forest for the treest :)  But what, then, sets a Jedi apart in appearance (other than the lightsaber?)  What makes them so easily recognizable?  Their lightsabers aren't always apparent, are they?  It seems more common in the PT for Jedi to wear the robes while everyone else wears more fashionable attire.

Not sure if this belongs here, but since we're talking about Jedi going into hiding....  We were watching ANH last night and something so simple struck me.  If Obi-Wan was in exile why did he continue to wear his Jedi Robes?  Are they not a dead giveaway?  I have not read much EU but wasn't there a bounty placed on any remaining Jedi?  I always felt that a Jedi's robe was tantamount to a Priest's collar -- it is universally (gallactically? ;) recognized.  "Someone here to see you honey, Jedi, by the looks of him"

We've been catching reruns of Lost (missed it the first time around).  The only other show I always try and catch is Rescue Me with Denis Leary.  I'm looking forward to Nip Tuck this fall.  I"ll watch an X-Files rerun if I come across it.

6lbs a week?  Great job! ;D  Did you take measurements by any chance? That will probably be more telling than the scale since you're adding muscle.

I found out I was claustrophobic when I had to have an MRI on my brain a few months ago.  They asked me and I said I didn't have any problems with it.  Once they put me in the machine I freaked and they couldn't get me out fast enough.  I've had 4 since then and they have to sedate me before I can even get near the machine.

Snakes are my biggest phobia.  Saw one in the front yard last week and me and the kids haven't been outside since.

Birds in enclosed spaces freak me out too.

I also get very paranoid about spoiled food too.  If meat looks or smells the least bit funny while I'm cooking it I'll throw it out.

Shannon --

I just recently joined JD and have just read your thread.  I wanted to let you know that my prayers are with you.  Hang in there.  I'm glad things seem to be getting a little better for you -- though I know how hard it is to be away from your son :(  What a great group of people we have here!  I hope their support and well wishes have played a small part in your great attitude!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: RIP Peter Jennings

Like I try to tell friends and loved ones about smoking.  Jennings had quit 20 years prior but the damage was already done.  Same thing happened with my Mom a while back.  She had quit 20 years back but it still was too late.
Sorry about your mom.  :'(   I quit 8 years ago next month.  :D  It was the hardest thing I have ever done.  I hope I can escape the damage that I did.  For my kids' sake at least.
