Modern Trading / zachmoe's Large Have/Want List
« on: August 26, 2005, 04:17 AM »
Welcome to my Trade Thread!  If you would like to know anything in particular about a certain figure, just send me a message and I will let you know whatever you want about the figure…I can also take some pics and send them to you so you know exactly what the figure looks like if you want.  I also have an extensive database on my computer for all figs that includes the Datestamp, variants, lightsaber lengths etc. so it’s really easy for me to look up and send that info to you.  It may take me a day or so to respond to offers, ‘cause I have to OK them with my brother first (we share our collection).  Sorry this is so long, but I got lots of extras…

Power of the Jedi / Re: Jedi Force File Number Question
« on: August 19, 2005, 04:39 PM »
That's what I thought, but according to the checklists, the way you determine the Force File number is by looking at the UPC code...I am pretty sure that's wrong.  Just wanted to know what some other people thought...thanks jedijaybird...any other thoughts anyone?

18
I think the reason why Hasbro is changing the line is because, as many people have pointed out, the 3 3/4 inch line is by far the most popular.  It sells the most.  It is the line that most collectors collect.  I believe that Hasbro is under the impression that the reason it does so well is because it is the right size, at least in the opinion of most collectors.  I believe that they are attempting to target the people that only collect the 3 3/4 inch figures, and offer them something a little more collectable, maybe more detail, something that will stand out a little bit more than the regular 3 3/4 inch figures.  I absolutely hate the fact that the Unleashed are being discontiuned, I have loved that line ever since it came out.  However, some people hate the unleashed line, and I'm sure there are those people out there who are glad to see them go.  The new line is different, I like it a lot better than those crappy Force Battlers, but not enough to give up the Unleashed line.  Is there anyone who is excited by the new expensive 3 3/4 line?  Just curious, as most people seem to hate the idea.  Anyone willing to give them a chance?

Power of the Jedi / Jedi Force File Number Question
« on: August 12, 2005, 03:22 AM »
Just a quick question.  In reviewing the POTJ checklist, I see that the way listed to determine the Jedi Foce File # is to look at the upper right corner of the UPC label.  Well, ok.  But I always thought that you were supposed to look at the lower right oo the back of the Force File itself.  Maybe I'm just wrong.  But you would think that the force file number would be on the Force File itself.  Just looking at my Chewbacca, Dejarik Champion, the actual card number is 571100.0000, the number on the upper right of the UPC code      is 571104.0000, and the number on the lower right of the back of the Force File is 5708300100.  This number appears to be related to the other two, except that is does not contain a decimal.  All of the Force Files are like that.  If that number is not the Force File, could someone tell me if it is relevant?  Just curious here...I have most of figures documented the "incorrect" way if the Force File number is on the UPC, just thought I'd ask before I redid my database...thanks for any help on this one...

I just don't like that they changed the case from 12 to 6.

Huh?!  Whaddaya mean they changed the cases from 12 to 6?  You mean boosters in each case?  If so, I'm gonna be royally pissed, 'cause I thought I was placing an order for a case of 12 a while back on the Huges.  Sure priced as if it was 12...  Damn, I'm going to have to double check on that.  Weren't the retail prices on the boosters going from $13 up to $20 or so for the Huges?  I thought that was kinda the case.  God, now I'm all confused!  Haven't kept up too well on the line lately, if you hadn't noticed...  :P

I think that if you originally bought a case at the price for 12 booster, the site that you bought it at either:

A).  Will ship you one case at half the price

or

B).  Will ship you two cases (equal to 12 boosters) at the same price you prepaid

Matt, you might want to check your preorder and find out what it is...it has been said before that this is bound to cause confusion among collectors and hopefully it won't piss a lot of people off and turn them away from the minis or the game...

Hey thanks for the hello...hope all is well and that you are enjoying the site!!!  It seems really laid back here, not so intense, but still a great place to meet fellow SW nuts...my brother, Darth Slothus...one crazy guy...look out for him... ;D

Yeah Jesse, but they're all in the Southern CA!!!  Almost no one here from Northern CA  :(   I know there are collectors here, but most are scalpers, I hate those guys.  I pick up extra figs occasionally, but not to sell on eBay, I get them so I can maybe trade with other people to get stuff i never picked up...  Anyways, I really hope there are more people up here in Northern CA on this forum, but looks like it's pretty slim...Matt mentioned someone else moving up here recently...hopefully we can do some trading or help each other out with store reports....

Man, bro, it's gonna take a while before I post the lists, maybe I'll work on it over the weekend...there is so much to sift through...Also, Matt, I do frequent the WOTC SW mini tradehouse alot, I'm on the GTL list over there, with a good feedback rating (about 10 or so with 5 more pending).  I have an extra Spider Droid if you want him, shoot me your list over and I'll help you out.  I also collect them to collect, but I do play a bit, though I normally get waxed by my brother.

25
nevermind, i finally saw ONE anakin starfighter. how sad, didnt get it since the back of the card was all taped up.

I actually think they are all like this, all of the ones I have anyways.  It is pretty crappy from the back, luckily that's not the side that gets looked at most  ;D

Thanks for all the welcomes so far!  Matt, just to let you know, I haven't preordered and UH yet or the AT-AT, but I will when I get the money.  Very interested in some of the new minis.  I'll send you my trade list later...anything in particular you are looking for?  I have some extras left, but mostly I've traded them for other stuff i need.  Let me know...and thanks again to everyone else for all the support...except for that Darth Slothus punk...

Power of the Jedi / Re: Rare? Medium Rare? Medium?
« on: August 10, 2005, 06:49 PM »
Well, with the rarity of the OTC Imperial Scanning Crew, it seems that there is definitely a market for grey imperial figs.  I know people buy a lot of stormies, clones, etc. for armies and dioramas, but there should be a better option for those wanting to recreate scenes involving the grey imps.  I would certainly purchase a 3 pack of imperials done the same way as the clone trooper 3 packs from Target...maybe with some color or rank variations?  Also different face sculpts and skin colors?  That would be great.  Hasbro is doing very well in my opinion with all of the Clone variations they are making available, I just wish we could have the same with some imperials.

Power of the Jedi / Re: favorite POTJ figure
« on: August 10, 2005, 06:42 PM »
You're Welcome Matt!

Also, I really like the BoShek figure from this line, I don't think it has been mentioned yet.  The pilot suit looks really good, and the helmet...man...great.    I really like that in this line Hasbro introduced a ton of new sculpts and really attempted to please the fans.  I believe that the first two fan's choice figures came out in this line, and although the Duros went on to become a peg warmer, the fact that Hasbro started to listen to fans started here.  Also, the new FX-7 droid is great, a new update for a background droid.

Newbies / Hello All
« on: August 10, 2005, 04:35 PM »
Hello All!  I'm new here to the boards, I am from Northern CA, just wanted to introduce myself.  I collect most everything from '95 on, though I do have a few carded vintage pieces and some loose ones.  I keep mine in the package for the most part, though sometimes I open them up if I have extras.  I also collect WOTC SW minis, I love those as well.  I'll start posting some store reports for Northern CA, although there does not seem to be much activity there.  Again, though, hello to all!
