Modern Classifieds / Help Spectre Pay For His Wedding!
« on: July 13, 2006, 08:48 PM »
As you all know from my Swap Shop threads, I'm liquidating almost every collectible I have in order to pay for my wedding.

Since I will no longer have any collectibles to display, I will no longer be needing my ENORMOUS glass display case! Here's a chance for some lucky local (NJ/NY area) collector to aquire a beautiful case for a fraction of it's value on today's market.

The case measures approx 8'2"(long)x6'6"(high)x12"(deep) and features a mirrored back and sides for that "infinity" effect. There are 2 small imperfections in the form of a cracked piece of plexiglass on the top of the cabinet (invisible to the eye unless you are above or inside the cabinet) and a small sliver of mirror missing from the bottom of one of the mirror slats (also almost invisible unless you are really looking for it).

This thing is HEAVY and somewhat cumbersome so shipping isn't really a realistic option but anyone who wants it and is local (NY/NJ area) can just come to the house and get it (it'll be disassembeled down to it's componant parts and stored in the garage this weekend). I recommend bringing either a station wagon, minivan, pickup, or cargo van though as the top and bottom pieces are over 8'long and do not collapse. You will get all of the pieces and hardware that goes to it.

I'll post pics tonight.

Asking $1,000.00 (or best realistic offer ;) )

Also up for sale:

Approx 12,000 book Comic Collection. Way too many titles to list, but suffice it to say that I collected pretty much everything Marvel from the late 70's/early 80's all the way up to "Onslaught", tons of DC (although not as comprehensive as the Marvel stuff as I didn't collect every title from DC at the time), Vertigo, Dark Horse, Valiant (almost every book they ever published), Malibu, Mirage, you name it. There are alot of really good books in here (12+ year unbroken run of most X-titles, dealer incentive books, key appearance/event books, some 60's Marvels, etc., etc., etc.) and they range from 1952 all the way up to last year. There are more books in this collection than most decent-sized comic stores have in their inventory so it's a great chance for someont to get an instant collection or open their own store (this was actually a dream of mine for awhile :( ). As with the case above, weight is a serious issue here so it's best if there was someone local (NY/NJ area) who wants them :)

Asking $5,000 (or best realistic offer ;) )

Any help would be appreciated :)

I just got word from Marauder-John that I can release the line-up for Series 3 (no pics yet as he's still awaiting the reduced prototypes from the overseas factory- as soon as I have the pics I'll update this post :) ).

Here's the official unveiling, straight from the mouth of Marauder-John:

"Hey Folks!
Here is the "official" list of the series #3 items.  The candidate list for series 3 was getting so big (over 40 items), that split some of the items out for an earlier release.  Otherwise, would have buried everyone with a HUGE release next spring, rather than keeping the releases smaller with "new" items available sooner.  Series #1 had 11 items, Series #2 had 22 items and Series #3 will have 15 items.  Series #3 could almost be called the "Dio-Series", because several of the items are "accessory" type items and not just weapons (perfect fodder for dioramas & dio stories).  The items "round-out" the overall Marauder assortment and were all requested items. Will post images of all reduced prototypes in a few weeks (don't have all of them yet). If all stays on schedule, hope to have product by the end of September.

Marauder "Gun-Runners"
Series 3

-Machete
-Flashlight
-357 Magnum Pistol
-Luger Automatic Pistol
-Combat knife
-Grenade
-Claymore Mine
-Cell Phone ("Nokia" style)
-Beret  (will fit the "average" sized head)
-Rifle Rack
-Sawed off, Double Barrel Shotgun
-Tanker Helmet Microphone
-"Modified" British Sterling Submachine Gun (will have trigger & trigger guard)
-AK74 /47 Assault Rifle with Tactical Stocks, attached Bayonet and REMOVABLE Ammo Clip  (will have trigger & trigger guard)
-AK74 /47 Assault Rifle with Tactical Stock & REMOVABLE Ammo Clip  (Same as above, but no bayonet. Will have trigger & trigger guard)

NOTE: Extra Ak47 /74 ammo clips will be available separately. The AK in this series is based on the most "advanced & modern" version released in 2003.  Bayonet was planned to be removable, but couldn't get the engineering to work. So made 2 styles (one with & one without bayonet). In addition, ALL pistols will have trigger guards going forward and the decision of trigger & trigger guards on larger weapons will be on a case by case basis.

Marauder "Gun-Runners" 1:18 Scale A-10 Attack Jet The "Combat Raider" DARK BLUE version of the A10 Warthog. Wingspan is over 25 inches and plane measures almost 24 inches long. Plane will be molded in DARK BLUE PLASTIC (NOT painted), bombs will be black and jet will have working & STURDY landing gear. Will come with USAF decal sheet (to use as needed).  The Dark Blue Marauder Jet is an exclusive version of the regular issue light gray USAF A10 (w/ green bombs) from PTE.  The Dark Blue jet has a target price point of $40 or less and should be available in November.

Hope you all like what is in the "pipeline."  Work continues on future releases, but wanted to be sure new items were available on a steady basis, lessen the wait between series and react to your requests as quick as possible...so pushed up the release of the "Dio-Series."
All the best!
Marauder-John"

For all those not versed on modern military weapons and wondering where their Star Wars weapon is in the line-up, it's the "Modified" British Sterling Submachine Gun (will have trigger & trigger guard), better known to Star Wars fans as the Imperial Blas-Tech E-11 Blaster Carbine, a.k.a the "Stormtrooper Rifle" :D

Ooooo, I can't wait to see the next wave. Any hints on what the SW item is going to be? :-*

I've had the finalized Wave 3 item list since May (I helped develope the line up in February- there will be some VERY happy customizers both in the military and Star Wars camps :) ) but cannot post anything until I get clearance from MarauderJohn. He asked me not to say anything until after the Joe Con (which was this past weekend), and I'm still waiting for the prototype pics anyway.

I'll give you one hint on the Star Wars accessory:

It is something that Hasbro didn't get right until POTJ and they still have not given us anywhere near enough of them to properly outfit the legions of figure types that carry one...

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Fodder Alert!

The modern Doctor Who line is more like 5" or 6"

There was a 3 3/4" line back in the late 80's/early 90's but they were rather lackluster looking.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: New Assault Vehicles In '07
« on: June 23, 2006, 06:43 PM »
The Sith Infiltrator will be SMALL, Hasbro said that the only newly tooled vehicles coming next year will be in the Starfighter Assortment (Obi-Wan Jedi Starfighter/Anakin Jedi Starfighter/Grevious' Wheelbike/Droid Tri-Figher sized box). I can easily see a TIE ball-sized crew compartment with the variable geometry wings on either side and a short, fat wedge in the front (possibly fat enough to fit his speeder inside).  No pack-ins will be issued for this or the V-Wing, although I'm sure that there will be Basic figures of Maul and a V-Wing Pilot (though more likely another go round for the black Clone Pilot) available during the same general window of availability as the vehicles. I'm happy with this scale as I'm not a Maul fan and I can buy all of the ones that the fans leave on the shelves and use them as Space Pirate Interceptors :D

42
No interest in them at all. I'm not a big enough geek to need the same characters in another scale ;)

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: If You Lost Your Collection....
« on: June 21, 2006, 12:12 AM »
If I ever lost my collection, I'd be upset, but I can almost guarantee that I would not pick it back up again. Sometimes it sickens me to think of all of the money I wasted on comics, cards, and toys over the years.

I'm currently trying to unload a huge amount of stuff as I'm getting married and my fiancee and I eventually want to get a house. I got rid of almost all of my cards back in the late '90s and ended up taking a bath on them :(

I have a massive comicbook collection that guides for over $100,000.00. I picked out less than 4,000 books that decided I wanted to keep (I have EVERY Star Wars comic published in the US, almost every single appearance of Swamp Thing, every single appearance of the modern Starman, every silver-age and above Spectre appearance, etc.) but haven't even been able to move the remaining 16,000+ books (all "valuable" books) at $10,000.00. Nor at $5,000. Nor even at the $2,500 I'm currently asking :(

As for toys, I only really have Star Wars and any compatible figures, all loose and almost all customized. Practically worthless aside from the work that went into creating them.

If I was to loose them, not really a big deal in the long run. As long as no one I loved was injured/killed in the hypothetical disaster that claimed my collection, I'd get over it.

Scored 1 today at a local KB.

KB is having a buy 2 get 1 free on all basic Star Wars figures so I scored 4 Hem Dazons,3 Garindans, a Firespeeder Pilot (brings me up to 4 now), and the Sandtrooper (only 1 they had) all for $44.98 :D

Now all I need is 4 (or more ;) ) R5-D4s, Momaw Nadon, and about 5 more Sandtroopers :)

BTW, if anyone wants a ton of red holos, visit my Swap Shop ;)

None, this wave has not hit Jersey yet.
