This figure reminds me of those talks you get from your parents: "I'm not mad, just disapointed".

I'm actually glad that the silver Vader is a repack...one less exclusive to track down.

I don't know if this has been asked before, but when are we going to get a Cantina Han? And more importantly, which online retailer will get it as a silver exclusive?

Well said DoctorPadawan  :)

Its sorta like if they sold grape jelly in 40 gallon drums at Sam's Club (stay with me here). Yeah, you get a lot of jelly, but I only wanted a teaspoon. I was willing to pay the normal price for a teaspoon. But a teaspoon equals $6.50.

I hear what you are saying about the "hunt" dying. I remember going to Wal-Mart when I was little and having to pick up all those figures on my own, without Buy It Nows! and pre-orders. Yeah, while these are very convienient in some situations, it has diluted the hunt.

I remember seeing exclusives online when I was a kid and wanting them. How is a little kid supposed to be able to get some of these? I'm not trying to complaining, but some of these exclusives are definitely not "kid friendly".

I am glad I have refuges like this site to talk with like-minded collectors. With all the scalpers and jerks out there, its nice to know there are still decent collectors out there that care more about the hobby than the figures (if that makes sense).

I don't get mad easy, but off the top of my head a thing that does annoy me is trolls wasting people's time.  >:(

That's a bit odd, to say the least with the two left legs.  Sounds like you had the bad luck to find a factory placement error.  I wonder if contacting toybiz would do any good?

ML 11 showed up here, seemingly yesterday.  No chase figures and no Scarlet Witch :'( , Ultron or Taskmaster to be found.  I picked up Logan :-X (well, I have all the rest so why not ::)) and a Wonderman which is a really well done figure.

Hulkbuster Ironman is huge and really heavy, were I an Ironman freak, I'd have picked it up.

Vengeance sucks and worse, his bones were purple.  It can't be a variant as I saw no less than three of them, but it seems like they changed the color from bone to purple ???  I didn't think I wanted it and I was right.

Don't need another Thing, that's for sure.

Next wave of FF movie figures are about as well, this wave with skateboarding human torch ::), trenchcoat Thing (prefer ML thanks) and a Doom with face switcheroo.  Invisible woman remains pretty easy to find up here.  Mmm, Jessica Alba goodness.

I didn't know those were even out already!  :o

Rebelscum was recently flooded with fake names by that RYDER!/Greenday101/darth_yaddle/darth_vaddle/Stormie45/Vaderman kid. To make a long, long story short, I went out of my way many  times (as did CHEWIE) to help him, and then he lied dozens of times and tried to cuss me out  ::) I just wanted to say this so the people who didn't know me didn't think I was a troll or a jerk. Just be prepared, he will most likely try to re-register here.

This forum seems to have more intelligent conversation than other sites. While I still love Rebelscum (ducks from the thrown tomatoes) its good to get away from some of the inane stuff that goes on there and come to here or GH.

Also (while I'm posting this I might as well ask it), how do you quote?  ???

Spudtrooper - I have since picked up those figures through trades online, but I really appreciate the offer! Is there anything you are looking for?

My real name is Alex. I've lurked on this forum in the past, but because of CHEWIE's advice I decided to sign up. Its sort of funny; looking around at the posts I see alot of people I haven't seen since years ago at Rebelscum. JediMac, you actually were the first person to welcome me to Rebelscum almost 4 years ago  ;D (my name was Jar Jar Sucks back then). Anyway, I look forward to making some new friends here and thanks for the welcome everyone!

The titles I've been getting regularly are House of M, Ultimates 2, New Avengers, and then the occasional cross-over or What If? or Elseworlds.

Really, that's about the same as a buying a RotS figure at TRU - $5.99 plus tax = $6.41 - and that doesn't even include the fact that there is no hunting involved, they are just delivered right to you.

Sure, maybe they should be cheaper since they are just repaints with no accessories, but EE knows you are getting exclusive droids in a fancy exclusive packaging.

Still...when you get multipacks, they should cost less per figure, not more (just look at the Saga TRU multipacks). Those TRU price quotes are a little high IMO.

And the fancy packaging doesn't cost them THAT much more...its like when they repainted the silver Fett and sold it for $10...did it cost more money to make this figure than other figures? No.

I'm not trying to be offensive at all, I'm just sick of seeing Hasbro try to gouge.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Are action figures dying?
« on: October 12, 2005, 04:32 PM »
I wouldn't say dying per se, but I think they probably are losing a bit of interest in younger generations. However, like JesseVader08 said, it is gaining popularity with adults. Culture is starting to not see collectors as "nerds" or "weirdos", but as "investors" and "collectors". Toys collectors are starting to become the same in the eyes of the public as someone who collects NFL memoribilia or vintage records. New collectors emerge every day. There are even whole companys that serve adult collectors, like stores such as Brian's Toys ( ::) )  and EE, and companies such as Mezco and McFarlane, among others. Action figures have (more or less "action") been around for thousands of years, and I guarantee they will not vanish within our lifetimes.

I've had no luck with series 10 either. Its sorta weird; I only saw Iceman from series 8 on the pegs, and no other figures from that wave. But with wave 9, I've seen everyone multiple times. BTW, I have a green hulk variant from the Galactus wave I am looking to trade (and maybe sell at cost if I can't get a trade), so PM me ASAP or I'll take it back to Wal-Mart.
