Saga '02-'04 / Re: Rerelease Leia Carded
« on: May 27, 2003, 10:59 AM »
What's the clear rectangle in the upper left corner?  A stand?

If she's in Wave 15, I guess I have one of her coming too.  I suppose that is better than monkey face, but not sure why this one needed to be redone.  I sure hope she isn't overproduced or overpacked.  She won't sell well.  My opinion is that the collector market won't respond well.  Don't think to many of the kids will buy it either.

I like the cards too, but I haven't been keeping too much carded lately.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Salsa. Mild, medium or hot?
« on: May 26, 2003, 11:42 PM »
Yeah, we definitely aren't west where salsa is hot.  Carrie is of course correct, fresh is better.

In Hawaii this past December, had Maui Tacos.  Pretty good and the Salsa was indeed fresh.  The pineapple salsa was quite a treat.

I've been pretty lucky lately and more than a couple of local places carry a variety of hot sauces.  Initially it was one small kiosk in a mall, but one of the larger grocery chains sort of stole the poor guys thunder, but save me about $4 for the small bottles.  I'll get an inventory for you guys in a couple of days so you can see the list of stuff to mess up yer innards that resides in my house.

I will say I'm not necessarily into hot for the sake of hot.  I have to like the flavor as well.  So the flaming _______ sort of sauces aren't really for me, unless the wife and kid are out of town and lots of beer will be consumed. ;)  More importantly so no innocent victims are harmed the next day :o

Vintage Kenner / Re: Most Expensive Cardbacks

And proof of another reason I won't go chasing Vintage.  I know diddly and I would get taken in a second.  Loose, someday, maybe.  But I just can't afford this sort of stuff.

One lucky SOB is right.  Just read on another board a suggestion that Canadian Walmarts won't be carrying ANY SW product until October :'(

You can't post non-SW items for sale/trade at RS?  Really?  Has that always been a rule?  Who knew?

I love dealing with Karen.  Superb communication and ultra fast shipping with great packaging.

The latest thing I have that you don't is the poster from the 2003 Star Wars Weekend ;D  Thanks so much Karma.  Get that sucker framed and up it goes in the daughter's room.  Yippee!

Bah, no pictures of the NHL stuff that I haven't already seen.  Need to know if Selanne will be in his Jets uniform as a chase fig.  There was a rumour, but it was waaaaay pre-production.  There would be huge demand here in Winnipeg for that figure.

Not so keen on NHL5 either.  Hossa is great as are the flashback uni's but the rest are sort of meaningless to me.  Interesting to note that Cloutier is in the old Brodeur post - biggest 5-hole ever ;)  Aw, that wasn't nice of me, was it?

Thoughts on football?  NFL6, will it be as hot as NFL5?  Order any cases?  I'll probably grab one if I can.  Same for NFL7.

Thank ya, kind sir. I know what ya mean. Just keep your lids peeled for it, and a Tri Logo Dlx. Jango sometime in 2005 I suppose?

Yeah, geez, I forgot about the new one.  I have mine on order from the US, but I'll see what I can drum up around here.  Deluxe for Cory.  Duly noted. :o

In other words, no way will future releases be in scale to the Falcon as they would be too small, relatively speaking. :(

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Cantina Wave 2 Sets a No Go

The website says no.  They updated what JediMac said regarding the availability date and with that update is an indicatation saying they don't charge until they are shipping.  Cool stuff and I may have to make an order.  I just wish I knew when so I could predict when the charge would be made.  I've got so much stuff on preorder, that if it all comes at the same time, my card could max out :o

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Clone 3-pk ...does it suffice?
« on: May 25, 2003, 10:33 PM »
Reports I read from the Hasbro event stated that articulation on these Clone Troopers was pretty minimal.  It was a cost-cutting measure, since these are supposed to retail for $9.99 each.

That would make sense.  Not such a bad thing for army builders.  But they would then have to make the other necessary versions - standing at attention, marching, etc.  I wonder which is cheaper for them in the end?

Well, the Coleman figure is supposed to a depiction of him on Geonosis.  And image-wise, there's not much for Hasbro to pick from regarding this Jedi.

There are only a handful of images, and in all of the Geonosis battle scenes, he's not weatring a cloak.  Most importantly, he's not wearing it when he gets shot by Jango Fett.  And most would argue that's Coleman's high point in the movie.

And again, I ask, where then are the blast marks ;)

Nice work Cory.  Still missing that trilogo pilot eh?  Well, maybe we'll find you one.  By Christmas, at this rate ::)

Walmart's up here start restocking for Winter/Christmas some time late July-early August, so maybe then.  It's so sad.
