Actual draft date and time are set.

C'mon El Jeffe, it's only a four month commitment this time.... little league won't even have started.

Oh I didn't say they were sane people.  They're the people that are taking the NHL players playing in Euro leagues results a wee bit too seriously.

There are some folks suggesting Jagr will challenge for the scoring title.

About ******* time, a shortened season is better than no season.  Bettman and Fehr are still ********, though.

Yup.  This has done nothing for my love of the game, to say the least.  Ultimately though any restrictions on spending on teams will help the Jets down the road.  We ARE the definition of a small market team.  Economics locally are good right now, may not always be the case so this is beneficial to us.

I will say though that my dislike of players has grown immensely over the last months.  It's stunning to read on places like yahoo in the comments how many people were still in favor of the players.  They're both idiots, players and owners and did themselves no favors at all.

Fixed the draft (obviously) and moved it to what will or won't be the actual draft date.  It will be if we actually have a season which may or may not happen though I'm sensing a resolution tomorrow evening after the other NFL games are over.  Or maybe timed just between the two of them.  That should jinx it.

Dear Christian Ponder its called playing through pain...uneffinbelievable

Just another reason I don't believe in him.

Not that I thought the Vikings were going to pull off another win like last Sunday.  Wasn't Rodgers rating last week something like 130?  Not often you lose those games.

Even my brand spanking new AP shirt isn't helping.

Scotch - yeah, that's right, Scotch whisky.  Gotta collect something.  Stoopid OCD.

But, can you keep that mint in bottle?

I've almost always been an opener, so no big.  ;)

Oh yeah, I keep hoping to find a good deal on a Master Replicas Obi Wan OT saber hilt.  Not likely.

Boy, just about nothing really.

Marvel Universe I'll keep up with as I can but I can't bring myself to spend over regular retail on these.

Star Wars I suppose if something OT has appeal in terms of single figures I might be inclined.  I think I'd still like to get some more Droids stuff but most of the line has died for me.  I keep an eye on GG but not really going there I don't think.

I'll agree that Lego is dangerous and very tempting ergo I must stay away.  LOTR, Marvel, DC, SW all have great products I'd love to own.  But I've decided I'm space limited so nope.

Scotch - yeah, that's right, Scotch whisky.  Gotta collect something.  Stoopid OCD.

Well, I never did make it to Knoxville unfortunately, so sorry name and Tracy.  :'(

On the plus side I just came back from Hawaii :-X and had enough time at duty free to pick up a bottle of this:

'Twould appear I've kept collecting, but this you can drink...

Yahoo won't let me change it as of this point in time.  ::)  Honestly, Friday is the last day for drafting and they haven't resolved the CBA yet.

I assume they'll open more dates tonight or tomorrow and I'll change it once they do.  Otherwise just let it run on auto-draft and I'll kill the results.  Hell, the auto-draft might be the most we get out of the NHL this year anyway.

The Vintage Collection '10-'13 / Re: Best of 2012?
« on: January 2, 2013, 11:36 PM »
Thanks Jesse, I appreciate the offer.  I will however pass.  Back when POTJ hit (or didn't really, as the case may be) I started getting help from a lot of people (mostly Minnesotans I might add) and was able to keep up.  At the time I'd thought about quitting and while part of me is happy I didn't, the money I would have saved would have been fabulous.  So while I'm not quitting, I'm only actively seeking new/better OT figures at this point and I don't think those K-Mart two packs quite fit my definitions.  I've got my spending on SW stuff well under $500/year at this point and I'm really enjoying that quite a bit.

I haven't seen much of the stuff and it's probably better if I don't ;)

No one has started this yet?  I'll get the ball rolling by stealing from last year...

Let's go with the following catagories:

Best Figure
Best Vehicle
Best Exclusive
Best Multipack

Here's my list -

Best Figure:  Hmmm...  I think I'm going to go with the Vintage Nikto Guard.  Great to finally check him off the update list and a great sculpt.  Runner-up for me would be the new vintage collection Weequay upgrade.

Best Vehicle:  I think I'll have to go with the Speederbike.  It was long overdue, easy to get and not that expensive with all the TRU BOGO deals/coupons.

Best Exclusive: K-Mart Endor 2-Packs.  Great value for $15 and great figure choices to complement the AT-ST.  I'd love to see these continue in some form.

Best Multipack:  TRU Ewok Multipack.  A pile of great new ewoks and a ton of accessories too.  Runner-up would be the Walmart TPM Astromech pack, another winner in my book.

The only things I've seen from that list distributed in Canada are the TRU Ewok Multipack (barf) and the vintage collection Weequay which finally showed up just before Christmas.  Otherwise nada north of the border.  Shades of the POTJ era all over again.  I appreciate you guys got lots of cool stuff, but with the price of shipping being as high as it is these days (anyone else remember mailing carded figures for about $3?) I just can't be bothered with trying.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Re: Hobbit
« on: January 2, 2013, 07:02 PM »
Finally saw "The Hobbit". Liked it but it seemed like it was one third of a really long movie.................................

That's exactly why I am tempted to wait till all three are available on bluray or wait till the last ones out then watch them all together

My substantial anti-social tendencies towards crowded movie theaters has me thinking the same thing.  In my old job I was usually able to steal away for afternoon matinees but not so with the current job.  Afternoon showings were often empty enough that I wouldn't be near the cell phone/texter/wrapper crinkler and have my movie going experience spoiled.  Soon enough the basement theater will be done though and no more of having to put up with people believing they are on their own couch and no one else matters.
