Other Collectibles / Re: Articulated 1:1 Scale Yoda!
« on: April 13, 2006, 07:35 PM »
Yoda arrived today, will get some pics taken and posted in the morning once my camera has charged up.
Its quite impressive but for some reason imo his head seems to large...

Edit: My apologies for the delay with the photos I will post them tommorow along with pics of my almost complete 1:1 scale Boba Fett Statue, it just needs boots, Jetpack and Gauntlets.
The gauntlets are on there way and the Jetpack has been scratch built using templates I found on the net using carboard and bottles which were then covered in paper and pva glue. It has even suprised me at how well its turned out it just needs another layer of paper and glue to make it a bit more solid and then it needs painting.
The gauntlets have been built for me and are on there way to me and hopefully will be here for Tuesday.
I've found a pair of boots just need to buy them on Tuesday.

Once the R2 Arrives I'll weigh him and get an estimate from the post office on P&P costs.... be warned though that Buffy one is on ebay and the postage for the states on that is $45 and thats located in the states, so it could be costly but I'll let you know as soon as R2 arrives.

There made in the U.K by a company called Cards Inc. I havent found any sites to order them from however and I was looking for quite awhile for pics etc before i ordered the R2D2.
I'm able to order them as I have retail premises and a Cards Inc account for buying things at wholesale prices.
Where abouts are you located Jim as I could order one for you but you'd be looking at around a month before I place an order as I placed a very large one with them today.
I'm not sure what postage costs would be as I'd imagine they'd be quite heavy.
If your interested I'll weigh the R2 when it arrives and give you a rough estimate of what you'd be looking at for postage.

I've been doing a little research and the R2D2 is actually quite close to 1:1 scale. One website says the measurments are 3' 2" while another said 3' 5". Yoda is just about spot on for being life size.

I just got a new wholesale catalogue and in them are the usual bobble buddies except this time they have a new height 3 Foot!
The Wholesale price on them is £25 so I'd imagine you'd be looking at around £40-£50 for retail price.

I''ve ordered one of the R2d2's to see what there like.
I can't find any pics of these I'll post one when mine arrives but I did find a pic of a 3ft tall buffy one to give you an idea what there going to be like:

Your room is really impressive, similar to the sort of thing I hope to achieve in the future once I have the room.

How big/heavy are the duel of fates ones? I'm guessing U.K shipping would be rather expensive though....

Heres the Fett Pics, picked up a boxed complete Slave 1 today, will post pics once it arrives.
There looks to be yellowing along the joints (mostly on the legs) this isn't actually there its just been caused by the flash.

I bought  complete 13" Boba Fett from Ebay this week for £30! (around $55) Absoltue Bargin really as I've seen them sell complete without a box for around £100 before.
It even had a box which isnt in bad condition.
The front of the box is very good the sides and back are a little bowed looks like its been stored somewhere damp and its caused a bit of distortion to the shape, the actual pictures on the box are still in good condition however just needs reshaping, I may try and find a piece of wood and put it inside the box for a week or so and hopefully bend it back into shape.
The actual figure is in very good condtion, one of the wookie braids is alittle fraid at the end though.
I'll post some pictures on Tuesday, as I'm not at home until then.

The £90 is the price the retailers purchase them at so not sure what they'd cost actually in the shops I'd take a guess at around £150

I'd highly recomend buying Han. The facial detail is a great likeness and the belt and gun etc really are great. I'm undecided on who I like most out of Han and Vader it really is that good.
Leia would be a nice addition but shes not my priority my list at the min goes:
Grievous
Obi-Wan
Leia

I need to fit in the Lando skiff bust as well at some point.... And then theres all the new GG busts that were recently annouced.

If you want I'll take a bunch pics of Han and post them tommorow for you to have a look, I'd do it now but I'm going out in 5 mins.

After seeing the OTC Animated statues coming out this year I decided to collect a few of the other still avaliable at reasonable prices on Ebay.
I think I'll only bother with these ones until the new ones are released as I'm not too keen on the Barriss Offee & Luminara Maquette and the others are out of my price range as my priority at the minute is the Sideshow statues and GG busts.
Heres a pic of my animated statues
