Good score Matt. Well done & even a couple of Blonde Imperials to boot. Patience pays off in the long run. Must be good timing before the other collectors saw them & scooped them all up.

Great find Matt!  Thanks for keeping me in mind, I have some stuff for you too - sent you a instant message.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: recreating the Arena Battle
« on: April 20, 2003, 11:38 PM »
First thanks everyone for all of your input.  My wife and I spent about 8 hours over the last week finalizing the diorama.  We...

If someone has a photo program that can sharpen the clarity a bit please let me know so that I can send the picture to you to post here at JD.

1) Hung a gunship, that has two clone trooper pilot's, two deluxe clone trooper pilots manning the guns, two preview clone pilots, and yoda.

2) Painted a backround for the wall to match the walls of the arena.

3) Painted three regular battle droids, with my wifes craft paint, supprisingly it came out excellent, arguably better then the four other red battle droids I had.

4) Hunted around to find the right color and texture sand, most sands you buy from a home improvement store are toxic.  We finally found it at Michaels Arts and Crafts!

5) Hung two genossian warriors.

The scene includes:

Arena, Republic Gunship, Acklay, Nexu, and Reek.

Ki-Adi, Aayla, Luminara, Nixto, Kit, Saesse, Shak, Anakin, Padme, Obi, Mace, two jedi casualties, R2, C3PO with Red Battle Droids Head, 2 Clone Pilots, 2 Deluxe Clones manning the guns, Two pre-view clones, Yoda.

Dooku, Lott, Nute, Boba, Jango, 7 Red Battle Droids, 7 Genossian Warriors, 5 Super Battle Droids, Destroyer Droid, Damaged Destroyer Droid, Red Battle Droid w/ C3PO's head.

I still need Barris, and Plo - but it looks good enough to let you all see.

Hello, I picked up two Padme's with mole's and backgrounds from KB yesterday.  One had a distinct mole on the high check area, the other a note so distinct mole on the lower cheek.

To the staff, has anyone seen or reported both of these variations?  I did not see a distinction on the variation checklist and it states to ask a staff member.

Thanks,

Fish

I forgot to post mine, I never, ever, ever found a Dexter w/ Insert.  A member here helped me with that and sent me the pipe text version.  This completed my long search.

I also never saw a Luminara with "removable cloak text"  I'm considering buying 2 for $17
including shipping.  Anyone interested in one for $8.50 plus frieght.

Do you think variations like this will be sought after in years to come?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Ever get in a fight?

I was planning on staying away fom this thread, but for the sake of diversity I thought I put my two cents in.

Growing up outside of Los Angeles has been interesting, for the most point an average kid baseball etc.  Struck out 19 in one game in seven innings, and averaged 2+ strikeouts an inning for a whole year, one of the few things I regret not following through on.

Then I moved to a new school, kids were bussed in from the inner city's at the time.  I met my best friend at the time, who grew up in a neighborhood in South Central were one color was superior... you guess.  Spent a lot of time down there with him and  to make a long story short, I got in heaps of trouble.  Several fights, arrests, etc...you guess how deep the rabbit hole goes, I don't want to incriminate myself too much.

The most memorable fight for me was when I was at party dancing with someone, and my friends went to run an errand.  Low and behold the enemy came, "the night before a scufful broke out in which we defaced their car "a mustang" by sticking screwdrivers through the doors of their car's while craking them over the head....etc.

I didn't even see it comming, I got cracked over the head and lost my ***
Someone almost **** me with my own ***.   That would have been a way to go out.  I believe I had to visit the hospital that night, I can't quite remember though.  I guess what my dad shared with me is true, "you don't remember things you do not want to, like which horses lost at the track only the winners."

12 years later after I am a family man with two boy's - the oldest will be turning 11 in two months, and I started collecting Star Wars again after taking them to see AOTC.

I thought I'd share this to show that there is quite a diversity in people who frequent JD.

With so many variations out there it's hard to keep up.  However, I like having something that you can't pop into the store and pickup at any time.  For the SAGA line, what do you all think is the coolest, hardest to find, or most treasured variants you have or want?

I'm very interested you hear your feedback on this.

Take care,

Matt AKA - FishEyedLouie

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Silver Fett and Clonetrooper coming...
« on: April 16, 2003, 07:03 PM »
IMO Fett is not that bad of a choice considering how many collectors dig his figures.  I like most of us just hope that he is available, I read somewhere through the SW Fan Club.  Anyone here know anything about that?

Toy Reviews / Re: Mace Widu Arena Confrontation

I opened this figure up to be both pleasantly suprised and dissapointed.

I'll start with the positive...great idea on the sabre action and rubber arms.  You can actually have a sabre duel, this is very cool.  The robe actually fits, not like that parka force on to JS Obi.  Very sleek material.

On the downside the lever could have been shortned about 1/8 of an inch and the lever cut in half to decrease it's visability.

I hope Hasbro makes more figures like this!

I was fortunate to get a Jorg Sacul through some friends who went to C2 last year. Just curious, how many figures would you all consider a trade for a mint Jorg be? 1 for 1? 2, 3, 4 or 5 for 1?

Hello Clone, I suppose that would differ based on the figures that you are intersted in.
I updated a few more haves, and will drop you a im.   Thanks for considering.
