Modern Classifieds / WTB: Cloud Car and Cloud Car pilots
« on: August 20, 2005, 04:20 AM »
Hi. I really need a vintage cloud car...loose is great (hey it's vintage, what else could it be ;)) so if anyone has one they're looking to part which, I sure could use one.

On another note...I really need OTC Cloud Car Pilots...Loose is great. Please name your price. :)

P.S. I know it sucks when people don't give a price range, but I really don't know how much these are going for right now.

Photonovels and Movies / Making Photonovels aka Ball Of Confusion
« on: August 11, 2005, 06:47 AM »
So I was bored today and instead of working on some shots for part II of the Ardan Torik photonovel, I decided to make, not a tutorial, but a little guide revealing my work habits.
First, a little bit about me. I'm in High School right now. I'll be going into my Junior year sometime after August. I've been collecting Star Wars figures (among others) since I was 4 years old, but only began to photograph my colelction 2 years ago, the summer before my Freshmen year in High School. I wrote my first photonovel while I was posting over at RS. It was called "The Defense of Kessel" and it sucked. I took the photos in my family's apartement, so the ground was carpet, the backdrop was a guitar case, the power generator was an Ionic Breeze, the dialogue was written up each time I posted it, it was hosted on Freewebs, and a lot of people seemed to like it. i don't know what their problem was. Maybe it would have been my camera angles, but I'm still not quite sure about those guys. I don't think CHEWIE had Rykrof Enloe up at that point, but I'm sure Vator had Nal Salio up (inspiration to start photonoveling). Thanks, by the way, Vator.

So this is how I organize my photonovels:

1ST Folder: "Star Wars Pictures"

This is where I keep everything Star Wars. During the rush before EPIII I saved everything. Pictures of HS stuff, pictures of Comic covers, articles, anything.

2ND Folder: "Photonovel Ideas"

Where i keep my concept shots. Before I write a story down, I usually play it out as if it were a photonovel first, to see just how possible, or exciting it may be. I also keep some test effects here.

3RD Folder: "Real Deal"

Cheesy name, but that's what happens when your available hours are 3-6 am. This is where i keep the original Ezatam pics, Ezatam (all together) and the Ardan Torik folder.

4TH Folder: "Ardan Torik"

This is the folder that contains Ardan Torik I and the useless photo "jjjjjjj". It's a copy of the "Space" photo. I don't know why I have it. I also keep original Ardan Torik series pics here.

5TH Folder: "Originals"

Clicking on originals leads to the Ardan Torik production. Everything I'm working on now is here. This helps me keep every step of the photonovel process documented and preserved, in case a mistake is made along the way.

6TH Folder: "Use"

I started this folder when I was making Ezatam (a 2 folder production) transition to Ardan Torik (7 folders). It sucked trying to move several pics at a time to different folders, so this is where all the shots I knew were future photonovel shots went, while all the others were kept in limbo. Right now, it houses the 2nd Part of the Ardan Torik Photonovel, which will be moved to a knew folder (next to the first part) when it is completed.

7TH Folder: "Progress"

Using several pregrams to develop a shot required this folder: a place to dump unfinished shots that i didn't want to get rid of, but didn't want to mix with original shots.

So this whole thing is a mess, but I know exactly where everything is inside of it. Thanks for reading, maybe I'll dig up some old scenes from Kessel or something deleted from Ezatam for you guys. :)

I'm looking to fill in some holes in my collection and also get going on some customs I've long waited to do, so here's my list of figs I need. Again, Loose or carded is fine. If carded, the card doesn't need to be in any sort of good good condition.

Cloud Car Pilot

Elven Archer

Theoden King

Rohan Soldier

Minas Tirith Citadel Guard

Thank you all for any help...I need all of these, but I really have no idea what their value is. Please, anything to fill these needs in would be great. :) :)

Watto's Junk Yard / Workout Routine?
« on: July 10, 2005, 09:42 PM »
For those of you that workout....

I'm really trying to build up my torso, mostly my abs, but what I'm going for is shape, not strength.  So what I'm asking for is a good workout routine for someone trying to get in shape, particularly upper body shape. Thanks for any help. :)

Photonovels and Movies / Part II Preview
« on: June 9, 2005, 03:20 AM »
Here's a preview of the second part of the ongoing Ardan Torik saga. I'm pleased so far with the story and its direction, so here is a small shot in the next photonovel. This is the scene where Ardan recalls his past to 88, on their way to Coruscant.

Hope this holds you over for another few weeks or so.

The Prequel Trilogy / What the hell are they riding?
« on: June 8, 2005, 02:10 AM »
See these clones on the right...what is it that they are riding on? I never heard of any creature such as this.

If anyone can identify this creature, many thanks in advance.

Photonovels and Movies / I. Ardan Torik: Indescribable Hate

Photonovels and Movies / Part 6: Finale
« on: May 26, 2005, 02:21 AM »

From planning this in December, to starting photography in February, to finishing it in May, it's been a fun ride. I've left a lot of Mysterious-Red-Heads (NCIS reference) in this story and I really do hope to wrap them up ina  legitimate and interesting way, but this photonovel needed to die. was the photonovel, or me. I dug myself into a lot of plots I couldn't climb out of, and when I would change the fates of certain characters in my head from dead or alive day after day, I realized this wasn't the project I wanted to be working on. I realized that what I really wanted to do was follow the mandalorian, Ardan Torik, throughout the remainder of his life. Funny thing is, he was going to die very soon            here. I actually had finished shots with dialogue about him, and his demise, but didn't take a few shots I needed to make it make sense. Thank God I put that off and realized I didn't want to kill this character after all---he's got too much story to kill off now.

So that's it for this series....I've moved beyond Ezatam, so it'd be useless to keep going with this series even if I wanted to. Now I'll be able to make some real changes to the way I do this and fix all those flaws you saw in this Photonovel.

It was fun. I enjoyed the experience and look forward to the next, along with everyone else's photonovels. :) Thanks for all the support guys! ;)

Watto's Junk Yard / Music Forums?
« on: May 20, 2005, 01:10 AM »
Lately I've been getting into "techno" music and that sort of genre (house, electronica, dance, etc.) but I have no idea what's out there, what was a hit in the past, and really how to define what's in the genre. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a good forum or other website to get up to speed on all of it and keep it up, like the many SW fansites around (probably not lucky enough to find something this good ;)) Any help is appreciated.

Star Wars Action Figures / Reference/ Background Picture Thread
« on: May 11, 2005, 08:38 PM »
This is an idea I came up with while looking for landscape shots and character pics....

So feel free to use it to request information on a character or to post any pictures you find that you think would be useful to the photonovelists / customizers here.

Modern Trading / Have Red Guard...Need AT-TE Gunner
« on: May 2, 2005, 02:36 AM »
Hey guys....I found a Red Royal Guard today..he's carded in great condition.

I've traded many times in the past (mostly at RS) and have had a great experience with it, so I'm hoping someone can help me out here.

Let me know if you've got any questions or concerns.

Photonovels and Movies / Part5: Politics
« on: April 21, 2005, 12:28 AM »
The Republic forces on Ezatam 4 have been crushed. There is
no longer resistance to the Separatist occupiers and their will
goes unquestioned. The Jedi have spent some weeks pushing
forward a motion to return to Ezatam space and free the
population, but their efforts are useless. They've continued to
investigate the Mandalorian, yet no clues as to his identity
have presented themselves. Still, they try to convince the
senate of their case's importance and of the importance of
the Republic citizens trapped on Ezatam 4...

Well...I hope this moved the story along and set the stage for the next few photonovels. I added the introduction at the top like some of you suggested and hope that the jumpng from scene to scene didn't confuse anyone. I'm taking these shots as if it were a movie, with one scne placed here, another here, and hopefully at the end, all the small branches will connect smoothly to the trunk.

If you're still confused...please ask questions. I'll be happy to answer any. :)

Hey guys...i decided to pave my own way with Lightsaber effects and so far it isn't going to well...I've tried various methods using Paint and Microsoft Photo Editor, and I thought I may be hitting on something easy and effective (no pun intended), but I'm going to post a few pics here to see what you guys think...

Like I said..this isn't the final product, it's only a really bad rough draft sort of version. I'm going to continue woring on finding a way to make simple effects, but so far this is my progress.

If anyone wants to join the digital effects problem solvers club, feel free to.

Star Wars Ships and Vehicles / Arc-170 = Raven's Claw?
« on: April 17, 2005, 02:59 AM »
Did anyone else immediately see the resemblance between these 2 ships? I guess you could even squeeze a Moldy Crow out of Arc-170 with a bit of modifications here and there...

Arc-170 Starfighter
SO who's going to be the first to try it? If the Arcs were on clearence, I swear it'd be me. :)
