The Sequel Trilogy / Re: The Force Awakens Trailers
« on: November 27, 2014, 09:30 AM »
Thankfully I won't need to drive into Chicago now to go see it now that they will be releasing it online!  However, my 10yo son said he would have accompanied me on the trip if I were going to go...  That's the age I was when ROTJ came out and I can still remember all the excitement leading up to that release.  I think I'm more excited for my sons than I am myself of seeing TFA when it comes out.

Just realized when I was posting my Black Thursday/Friday purchases that I never posted about what system I went with.  I ended up having enough airline miles to get a PS4 bundle that was being offered.  The unit came with an additional Dual Shock controller and two games (Minecraft and Knack).  Really looking forward to the boys going crazy this Christmas when they open that up!

Thanks for all the advice guys, it really helped in making the decision easier in the end.

I know it's early, but Best Buy started running their Black Friday deals online last night.  After several bouts of the site being down, I was finally able to get some things off the boys' and my list:

Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack - $40
Disney Infinity Toy Box 2.0 Starter Pack - $40
MLB 14 - $20
Lego Marvel Super Heroes - $15
Sony Blu-ray player - $50

Really psyched to get those starter packs for so much off.  They are going to freak when they open their new PS4 from Santa and these two packs from us.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and happy hunting if you  brave the stores today and tomorrow.

I had only owned the DVD EE's so it seemed like the best time to get these, finally.  They also had the Star Wars Blu-ray set for $80 so I got that to go along with it.  Hopefully this will be the last time I have to buy these until they are converted to Ultra 4K HD versions once the technology is available  :P

The boys are still too young to be able to see LOTR, but once they are able, I can't wait to marathon these and the SW movies.  Will definitely be a lot of fun when the time comes.

I know this is an old thread but thought I'd bump in case anyone still is in need of the EE Blu-ray set.  Amazon has it up on a 1-day flash sale for $29.99:

Great price considering it was $120 when it first came out...

The trailer will debut before all movies starting November 28...

Sorry, had to do it...  So does this mean that The Force gets up early for Black Friday too?  ::) :P

Blackhawks are playing with so many people from their farm team (Ice Hogs) that I think I'm going to refer to them as either the Blackhogs or the Icehawks until their starting line-ups are back.  Thankfully they squeaked out a fin llast night in Calgary.  Still can't believe they went to the box that many times and won...  Couple back to back games coming up in the next two weeks.  I'm just hopeful they can go at least 0.500 during the circus trip.  Fingers crossed!

Goodness me, but does my team ever suck.

They were obviously good enough to beat my team, the likes of whom have had their own suck-fest going on for long enough.  They need to get back on track here soon.

I seriously wish that all the Marvel Universe characters were in the same movie studios.  I know it will never happen, but I would love to see Spidey and the X-Men together with the Avengers...

I'm not really familiar with the storyline, but am happy to hear that there will be a very familiar MCU character in the movie along with Cap.

Sounds like Ghostbusters is finally getting the reboot treatment with an all female cast:

I would love to see Melissa McCarthy in this.  I think she'd be a riot.

Agreed, they overdid it with that edit technique.  I get that it's a hallmark of sorts of the films, but for some reason it wasn't nearly as often or jumpy in the OT.  Maybe it was just a lot of location hopping in the PT compared to the OT?

I couldn't agree more Jesse.  That was one of the things I hated the most from the PT compared to the OT.  Every wipe had to be a different shape or direction.  Very annoying to watch...
