Other Collectibles / Re: Hasbro Force FX Lightsabers

No, they had the Force FX one there.  It was sitting behind the Customer Service desk with a hold sign on.  I haven't been paying attention to these for a while so I didn't even realize that they were making one...

That's awesome!  I saw this the other day at TRU and really had to restrain myself from picking it up.

Ended up finding all the new sets in the area, but had to go to three different stores to do so. Picked up the Resistence and First Order troop sets and the Battle on Takodana set. Nice thing was, the Target I found the Takodana set at had it mislabeled as a 'House of Mirrors' set and it was only $49.99.

I'm hoping that the Captain Rex's AT-TE is modeled after the one from SW Rebels.  It would be cool to get an older version of Rex and the other two Clones (can't remember who they were) along with the crazy AT-TE they were on!

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (SPOILERS)
« on: January 1, 2016, 12:27 PM »
The one big concern I have with this theory is that the new trilogy seems so prepared to divorce itself from the EU in order to open up the story possibilities.  Will all of those CLONE WARS shows be considered canon, and something that could impact the movies?  As annoying as the whole "What's canon?  What's not canon?" issue has become, I think this is one area where it bears some examination.

I thought that when they announced what was considered canon that they said The Clone Wars cartoon were considered as part of the new canon now.  As well as Rebels.

Cool finds for sure.  My Target was dry.  Guess I'll have to wait until Saturday when they are scheduled to be released and check back.

That's cool, I was looking forward to seeing those soon.  Might have to take a run today to see if my Target has them out yet.

The Prequel Trilogy / Reboot Episodes I, II & III?
« on: December 26, 2015, 10:09 PM »
Interesting thoughts here:

I know that they would never do it, but it sure would make the movies easier to watch if they were able to put out something that was more like TFA and less like TPM.  Let Darth Maul survive so that Anakin has to defeat him in order to become Palpatine's new apprentice.  Get rid of all the political rhetoric.  Actually have Leia old enough to see and remember her mother as she recounts in ROTJ.  No Lucas level dialogue.  A pod race that isn't like Mario Cart.  And I could go on...

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Episode VIII
« on: December 24, 2015, 11:26 AM »
I know that we are still in the midst of the EP7 release and resulting euphoria, but I read this this morning and had to share my feeling of dread:

Veteran Star Wars writer Lawrence Kasdan said in a recent interview that Johnson is going to make "some weird thing" with Episode VIII.  If you've seen Rian's work, you know it's not going be like anything that's ever been in Star Wars," Kasdan said. "You couldn't have three more different people than JJ, Rian, and Colin [Trevorrow, director of Episode 9]. Those movies will have the Star Wars saga as their basis, but everything else will be different."

I'm really hoping that the Executive Producers don't let it get 'weird' and stick with the success they have going with EP7.  Fingers crossed.  17 more months to go...

What character did Simon Pegg play?  I've been avoiding spoiler news for so long that I'm sure there are all sorts of interesting nuggets I'm not aware of.

He was the one the scavengers where trading with that wanted BB8.  Don't know the name...

Leaving for the theater in about 25 minutes.  This will now be the third Star Wars movie opening night viewing I've gone to with BrentS.  Always good to have fellow fans with you for something like this.  I'm just glad that they did away with the midnight premieres.  I'm getting too old for that *sith*!

And Samuel Jackson was terrible too. IMHO.

+1

I joke around with BrentS all the time about SLJ's lines during the Jedi Council scenes.  Awful...

I just want to ask the writers if they ever plan on killing Ward or should I just check out and stop watching now.

Well, I'm already slated to see it Thursday, Friday and Saturday (tickets in hand), so I can easily see this breaking records for opening weekend.  Every theater around my area is sold out, so I have a feeling this is going to be pretty epic.
