Other Toy Lines / Re: Modern Masters of the Universe

Yeah, I ended up finding a few things in my area, but there was a lot of driving involved, as I don't live terribly close to my nearest Big Lots.  I've ended up doing a little trading, and I gave in and grabbed a couple things on eBay - the sheer quantity of figures that showed up at retail has pushed prices down quite a bit.  Considering the cost of gas for a toy run, it ended up looking like a good option to me.

Looking around various collecting sites, it seems the distribution is actually quite widespread, but so are individuals clearing out entire stores.  Stores in my area that I visited or called had often been cleared out earlier that day or in the last few days by a single person.

So Big Lots stores across the country are getting a variety of MOTUC figures right now.  The exact figures vary, but it seems most if not all are getting the Mo-Larr and Skeletor pack and Orko (with Prince Adam).  Everything is $10.  The stores around me in Western Washington are largely cleared out (except Mo-Larr in Tacoma and Kent and Megator in Tacoma).  There are also Ghostbusters 12" 2-packs of Egon and Ray that don't seem to be in as much demand for $30.

I had no luck finding an Orko anywhere, so if anybody goes hunting for these, if you find an extra Orko could you shoot me a message and we can work out a deal?  With all the stores getting cleared out, I'm sure there will be a lot of Orkos on eBay, but I don't really want to reward the folks that couldn't be nice and leave some for the next collector.

And regardless of whether anybody can help me or not, happy hunting, everyone!

I also only ordered one, and I did it pretty close to the deadline.  I never got any of these postcards people were talking about, so I was getting worried, but my Eopie arrived today.  I'm very pleased - money's been a problem lately and I haven't been buying Star Wars stuff, so getting something in the mail that I already paid for a long time ago is quite a treat.  It's an extra bonus that I never got the Evolutions Qui-Gon, and this one is an improvement over the original.

Huh, I saw these yesterday at (I believe) the Puyallup, WA store.  I hit a couple TRUs looking for the new Iron Man Minimates and stopped to look at these sets not realizing they hadn't been out for a while.  Not much of anything shows up here anymore, so whenever I see something new to me, I figure it's old news to everybody else.  I didn't buy them, but what I noticed was that the translucent Stormtroopers in both sets looked to be the same, where I thought I'd seen pictures a while ago where one was lighter and one looked kind of smokey.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Legacy Wave 10 - A New Hope

Well, what I've seen in person (just the Legacy figures, not the Legends, which are also paired up this way) includes:

ESB Boba Fett with R2-D2
Imperial Scanning Crew with Clone Commander Deviss
Rum Sleg with Darth Sidious Hologram
Leesub Sirln with Jawa & Security Droid
TPM Obi-Wan Kenobi with Gungan Warrior
Clegg Holdfast with Jawa & WED Treadwell Droid
DS2 Luke With Concept Ki Adi Mundi
Han Solo (with Stormtrooper helmet and chestplate) with Chewbacca (with headset)

...and some others I can't remember exactly that included TPM Padme, Evolutions AOTC Padme, shirtless Maul, Hrchek Kal Fas, Biker Scout, and Han and Luke in Stormtrooper armor.  And these aren't always paired up the same, but most of what I've seen is generally the pairs I listed.

What I haven't seen but have heard of:

Giran with Ewoks
Ugnaught with Nikto Gunner
Slave Leia with DS2 Luke
Saleucami Trooper with Major Panno
ARC Trooper with Nien Nunb

The quantities have varied, but I've visited six or so Targets in Western Washington and all had at least a few of these.  I'd be happy to help someone out if I can find what you're after in exchange for some of the ROTJ figures.  Prices and distribution have kept me out of the game for months, so I've been really excited to get caught up via these sets.

I've been hunting these twofers at Targets in Western Washington, happy to finally have a chance to catch up on things.  What's strange is that I've seen reports from around the country of things like the ROTJ wave being found like this, but at six or so Targets out here, I've mostly found the TPM wave with a bit of ANH every so often.  I wonder if the distribution of these is a bit uneven from region to region, and if that's the case, I may have to start begging you guys out east to help me out with the ROTJ wave, because this deal is fantastic.  Figures I've never seen on the pegs, all for half price?  Count me in!

Star Wars Universe / Re: Star Wars Saga Viewing Order?

This is actually a current question on the Wii's Everybody Votes Channel.  I voted for OT first.  It should be interesting in a couple days to see whether the masses agree with us on this one.

Thanks for the pictures!  Both sets look great.  I'm going to have to save up for both.  I was trying to talk myself out of wanting the 4th Doctor set, but there's just too much there that I want (or can justify getting).  Very cool stuff.

Loose would be wonderful - that's how they'll look eventually when I get them anyway!

Third Doctor (in two different 2-packs) is due next month, so you didn't miss it yet.  I'd love to see pictures of the 4th Doctor Adventure Set (or whatever they're calling it) and the second Dalek pack if you can take any - haven't seen many in-hand pictures of those yet.  Nice haul!

Would anybody by any chance have the R2-L3 parts that come with the Cantina guys (everything but the left leg) for sale?  I finally started picking up this wave due to a 15% off sale at Fred Meyer, and I don't particularly want the Cantina guys if I can get the droid parts another way.  Thanks!

I've read elsewhere that that picture is of a prototype; the one seen here is the real toy.
