Feedback / Re: JACKOFTRADZE's feedback

I had a great trade with Michael - everything arrived perfectly and he really helped me out getting what I needed.  I fully intend to trade with him again in the future!

The Legacy Collection / Re: TLC Millenium Falcon Upgrade

I think that's there for two big reasons: 1) To accommodate the fun smuggling compartment action feature, and possibly more importantly, 2) To give the huge thing something more to rest on than a few tiny bits of retractable landing gear.  My Y-Wing can't hold itself up, so I can see how a much larger ship could have a problem too.  I think this is first a playset and second a ship you can fly around.  Assuming you CAN fly it around.  And assuming you'd want to.

I think the lithographs are all Megatron, so everybody'll have the same story there.

However, people won't have the same story as you with the toys.  I hit my local Best Buy at opening and they had maybe 8 toys total (presumably four of each).  I was lucky enough to get the Ratchet I was after, but I bet anybody who arrived after 10:10 or so was in for a disappointment.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 30AC Star Wars Comic Packs

Ditto.  I would have happily bought them with movie or comic versions of R2 and Chewie as long as Luke and Han were the right colors, but now I'll just go back to patiently waiting for the next rerelease.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: SWShop Concept General Grievous

What's strange to think is that I got my V-Wing at Target for $17.99.  A price around there is a bargain... for a vehicle.

I think they're taking advantage of folks like me who are trying to get all the concept figures or all of the coins.  The exclusives have already been pricey this year, but now $17 + shipping for one figure?  And it's just Grievous, at that?  What really blows my mind is that I've seen people express happiness that it's just $17 instead of $20, as though it's some great savings.

If Commander Blop doesn't come with the long rifle, I'm only buying two of him.

Modern Trading / Re: JD 30AC Coin Trading Thread
« on: August 3, 2007, 04:07 AM »
I figured I'd bump this instead of starting my very own thread.  I'm currently looking for a Yavin Ceremony Luke coin and, however unlikely it may be, a SDCC coin.  If anybody could possibly help me, I have various other coins lying around for trading, or something or another could be worked out via PM.

Thanks!

I've been picking some up, just for the ships, though, not for the game.  I think they're pretty cool and have some nice variety.  I'm trying not to get too many of them, though, as my main collecting focus is figures.  However, since I haven't been seeing many new figures out there, these are something else to keep me busy.

Of course, I could just save my money instead...

I also like the differences in the paint - I have two and they're far from identical.

I'm having trouble with something, though: I can't loosen some of the hip joints.  I'm usually pretty good at loosening up joints, and have never had a figure break on me, but I just can't get these ones.  The plastic just bends and the legs return to their original position when I let go.  Should I be tossing these guys in a freezer or something before trying again?

Yeah, I would assume that, being sorta half-sphere-like, they could nest one inside the other.  So I would think if one fits in the package, two could fit as well.  I guess it depends on the acutal shape of them, but it still seems strange to me.

Sorry if this was pointed out and I missed it, but GH posted some bigger pictures of some of these guys.  Luke really does look strange, especially how he's posed in the package as though his left arm's broken.  I may cave for the vaporator, though.  As for Vader, they point out that in the loose picture, he seems to have a removable helmet, which I assume makes him the Vader from the ANH tin set.

Nope, on mine they're dark blue.

Count me in with those who understood it would be small, but are still surprised how small it looks.  It would be nice to see it with a figure in the cockpit to get a better idea.

I'm okay with the deploying stuff on the front end, makes me think of the Darth Maul speeder (Invasion Force?) with the deploying wing-gun things.

Ditto.  I suspected it would be Morris last week, actually, what with the other British guy saying he found someone that wouldn't help willingly.  It was more obvious this week once they had the picture that couldn't be unscrambled until the end of the episode, and Morris had to leave RIGHT THEN.  At least they weren't really reusing the "dying family member distracts key CTU techie" thing again.

As for Papa Bauer, it would have been more surprising if it wasn't preceded by the "we can't move him for ten more minutes" thing ten minutes before the end of the episode and then Phillip telling Jack he needed a few minutes before Jack (and everyone else) left him alone with the brother.  Huge hints that immediately made me remember how he shot the goon in the beginning of the episode, which was also fishy.  It was just a question of whether he'd kill the brother or let him go.

I know, I know, if I'm going to complain, why am I watching?  Well, I'm a huge fan of the first two seasons and know the show's capable of better than this.  I cross my fingers for the day that the creators realize they don't need increasingly huge threats and silly attempts at twists (evil brother) to make an exciting show.

My current source of frustration is the MR prop replicas that Gamestop stores got in recently, apparently as a one-time thing.  They had the Davy Jones key and Elizabeth's coin necklace, for $6.99 each.  Unfortunately, I've been all over my area trying to find the necklace and stores only ever have the key.  Has anybody else seen these around?
