Lookin sweet man.  How did you modify that helmet?  Looks like a different visor.  It reminds me of Boba's or Jango's helmet a little.  Nice.

Those are some really great looking figures there.  My favorite of the 3 is the pilot.  I've never seen a more creative use for a Vader.  Its beautifully blended and I love the chest box with those straps.

The muscle is very nicely painted and the green is the perfect choice for that thug.  Also the rebel soldier legs are perfect for such a character.  Very well done.  I also like the holster.  Nice.  If it were my figure I may pait the hooded portion of the figure from brown to possible that blueish color or maybe even black.  Still a well made figure.  Cool!

Great paint aps.  I love the rebel officers of Hoth.  Those looks awesome.  The beard is a great touch.

Also the airborne clones look fantastic.  I really love the orange flavored one.  Sharp!

I always look forward to seeing your work.

Star Wars Action Figures / Rise of the Empire carries on!
« on: November 24, 2006, 04:37 PM »
Here's my attempt at an Imperial sniper in the early days of the newly formed Empire.  I LOVED making this figure.  I'm pleased with the removable heads and the camo job is more earth based than my usual camo jobs.  My belief is that the empire would use a basic imperial blaster with an augmented sighting system for sniper duties.  I also included another helmetless sniper head because I believe that any sniper would prefer not to wear a bulky helmet when sighting in on their prey.

The visor is hand sculpted over a saga sandtrooper helmet.  Once again I borrowed this idea from the great idea maker Sithfire30.  The backwards kepi is another cast Jerjerrod piece and all of the webbing is hand made vinyl.  PLease tell me what you think

By the way this trooper is stationed on the planet Endor on a scouting mission 23 years before the events of ROTJ.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: hand sculpted animated jawa

Here's something a little different from what I usually make.  This is a 100% hand sculpted jawa figure as seen over at thejawa.com.  I always loved their mascot- that cute little animated jawa seen on every page.  This figure hopefully captures that animated character.

The belts and pouches are made from my usual concoction of belts items.  Hope you like it.

I really dig those stormies.  I love the blue under armor.  Those looks really great.  I'd love to do some of these.

Here's the second member of my ARC team thus far.  You may remember my red ARC captain from about a month ago, well here's  a standard blue version.  I took a few liberties from the classic ARC of the Cartoons and other reference material.  Hopefully you can understand what I was trying to achieve.  My version is for rappelling into tight spaces and shocking would-be enemies by descending from out of gunships.

I chose to sling his weapon so that he can hold onto rappel lines with both hands.  I hope that you like it and please tell me what you think.

My sense of humor is very much along the same lines as yours.  Its hilarious.  Feel free to make as many comic strips regarding my customs as you see fit!

 ;D

THe metal piece was made from a metal staple.  (Up to my old tricks again.  Simply bent with some small pliers into a square or rectangle.  Easy-peazy

Hey nice stuff stormtripper.   Great designs by the way.  That Cloud Car pilot is a good choice for an imperial.  Looks fantastic.  I may have to try something like that in the future for a concept figure.
Also that Kyle Katarn / Jango style figure looks wicked cool.  I like the use of parts and its a great design as well.

I notice you adopted that red arm band for that one particular figure.  Bold and very cool looking.  I cannot tell from this angle but is there an imperial insignia on that band?

Great work.

Looking sharp there CC1.  My faves are the ARC with the articulated knee joints and the Boba Fett.  Both are done well and the added articulation really makes them shine.  Is that a modified Boba Fett helmet?  It looks more in scale than the Hasbro version.

Also, what joints did you use to achieve the ARC trooper's knee articulation?  Great stuff

Straxus, Thats the best comic strip I've ever seen!  Awesome.  How long did it take you to create that?   ;D

I never envisioned that gear strap for that purpose but from now on I'll never see it any other way!  Great job and I'm honored that you'd take the time to create that- cool!

Its worth mentioning here as well.  I love these 2 figs.  You've really established yourself as the extreme weathering guru- a style that I love in particular.  The HALO trooper is just plain awesome and it would appear that everybody agrees that its the best you've ever done.  I believe it to be.  Awesome.

I'd love to see your attempt a camo-extreme weather beaten figure.  I bet a camo trooper with this wweathering would be great.  There I go again with the "camo" thing- It can't be helped I love camo troops!

Here's the piece finished for now.  I painted the holster assembly red and I like it much better.  I also added one small gear strap to the belt.  Tell me what you think:

Thanks for the comments everyone.  Incom- thats Hasbro's red believe it or not I didn't even reach forpaint on this guy.  The red of the kama is not an exact match but its close enough for my needs.   ;)  I think thatthe red of the kama and the red of the figure fight against each other a little but it aint bad.

Straxus.  I've sold through my first batch-thanks everyone!  I'll be making more in the extremely near future.  Perhaps we could make some sort of trade- your helmets for my kamas.  PM me and we can got it going fa sho!

UPDATE!  I;ve repainted the holsters red which looks really awesome (well I think so anyway)  I've also added a few small touches to his gear not overblown but I'll post some pics tonight.

Hey those figs are awesome!  Where to begin.  First off the Obi Wan figs form AOTC.  Great work.  The other random jedi wielding characters look professionally done and the soft goods are dynamite!  Overall an impressive batch of figures.  I look forward to more of these
