I stopped watching TWD halfway through S6. Really doesn't interest me that much anymore. It's become a bit repetitive in that Rick and his gang are on the run, they find a safe haven and get captured again by the next group of bad guys. Yes, I know SW is a bit repetitive too, but SW is holy and untouchable  ;D

Received two more Stormtrooper, this time off eBay.

Recieved my 5 Stormtroopers from DST last week, but unfortunately one of them had an ankle joint that was faulty. It moves from side to side, instead of front to back :(

I contacted DST, asked them if they could help me or if I should contact Hasbro instead. Since I don't live in the USA, I really wondered if contacting Hasbro would help. Let me tell ya, Teri from customer service solved the matter in hours. A replacement trooper is on his way to my place as we speak. Awesome work there.

Star Wars Ships and Vehicles / Re: 6" Scale AT-ST

Yeah, this guy is on fire with that thing. He hasn't started on the interior yet, but I hope he will go the whole nine yards and add a detailed interior as well.

Hasbro should take note, because fellow customizer Spudafett whipped up a classy looking AT-RT for his custom 6" Kashyyyk Trooper in no time. And let's not forget the 3D printed 6" TIE Interceptor.

Loved every second of it. Man, what a fun ride! Saw it twice and definitely want to see it a third time.

The whole gang worked great together. Loved Groot's "Hulk vs. Loki" moment (that face!), Michael Rooker was just brilliant as Yondu, what a guy! And that face of Ronan when the infinity stone gets knocked off his hammer.... priceless  ;D Heck, everything was great, hahaa!

I have had the Awesome Mix Tape Vol. 1 in my car for a month now (on CD, don't have a cassette player in my car... yet), such an awesome soundtrack to the movie. I want to change that into a Tarantino-esque soundtrack, with soundclips from the movie in between the tracks. Already found a few, but I'll download a torrent of the movie and try to rip the sound of that.

Let Freedom Ring with a Shotgun Blast!

Nice, I'm so jealous of your huge outdoor metal shows! Graspop, Dynamo, F--- Commerce Festival, etc. Metal is alive and well abroad!

Glad Andreas Kisser is aging well, have they gotten their heads out of their collective arses and gotten Max and Igor back yet though?

Shocked to hear Limp Bizkit disappointed.  :D

Dynamo? I'm impressed you know of it :D  Sadly, Dynamo is no more. Last time was in '99 and by then it had already been stripped down to a much smaller festival :(  But Belgians know how to party, nevertheless. Graspop is our new home  >:D

I'm not a fan of the 'new' Sep, but it's great to hear them live, especially when performing the old Sep songs. Funny you should mention a possible reunion, because when asked which bands the director of Graspop would ultimately want, he replied the old Sep lineup. And Pantera.

In the meantime I've scored tickets to a concert on Dec. 4. Band is called Machine Head. Support by Devil You Know.

Nice look so far!  I've toyed with redoing my stuff too but have not pulled the trigger as of yet.

Thanks, Scott. Like I said, I've toyed with this idea for a long time as well. But there's no going back now and I'm thoroughly enjoying myself doing this :)

Sounds fun. I enjoyed Great Big War Game, Clash of Clans as well as Boom Beach but everything tastes better with a nice dash of good ol'  fashioned SW seasoning :)

Since I use Android I'll have to wait a bit longer though.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2014 Wave 2

Took some quick shots of how I modified my 6 inch Clone Trooper, so that he can actually look up a bit and really bend his arm quite a bit further.

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: The Black Series 3.75" - Wave 5

It may be nice, but it has a fatal flaw apparently.

Ouch! That makes the Snowtrooper Commander's issue with the hands look like child's play  :o It definitely looks like Hasbro's quality control has become one with the Force. Choked by the dianoga in the garbage dispenser. Thrown down the shaft like Palps. Eaten by a Rancor like that little Gam.... I'll stop already  ;D

But this is equally annoying: "The codpiece has returned, meaning if you aren't careful it can stick up and he'll be quite happy to see you." Imagine that with his head off....

Guess the go-to Vader is still the VC93, then?

Haven't posted in this thread since 2012, but of course I've been attending live music on a regular basis.

Most recently the Graspop Metal Meeting festival in Belgium, with awesome performances by Sabbath, AiC, BLS, Zombie, Sepultura (man, Andreas Kisser hasn't aged a day  ;D ), Mastodon and Ghost.. Limp Bizkit was a big disappointment.

Last week Machine Head, their only club show in Holland this year, until it was announced a few days ago, that they'd be back in another town in December. Hard to believe they've been at it for 22 years! They totally tore up the insanly hot venue.

This Sunday I'll go to X-Rock in Germany. Guess who's playing? Machine ******' Head  ;D Also Amon Amarth, Life of Agony and Airbourne, plus a couple of others.

Toy Reviews / TBS #14 6" Clone Trooper (Phase I / AotC) - review
« on: August 14, 2014, 06:31 PM »
The promo pictures of the Black Series #14 6" Clone Trooper (Phase I) got the better of me and persuaded me to order a pair from an Asian eBay seller. Overpriced, but still cheaper for me than buying them from our own Dutch (r)etailers. I received them in pristine condition and within a week after payment.

Sculpt: at first glance the trooper looks a bit bulky. But after eyeing him more closely, the sculpt is really decent. The black body suit has a few folds, all in the right place. It also features a subtle texture. The body armour is pretty close to the mark, as far as I can tell. The belt is very well detailed (and on my troopers positioned correctly :p ). Details on the helmet and on the panel on the back are crisp and clean.

Paint: safe for the body suit, the standard Phase I grunt is white, of course. However, Hasbro applied subtle paint apps on various details, such as the back straps of the knee pads, the soles of the boots and of course the helmet. But they didn't apply it in a very tidy manner. On each of my two figures, I could spot numerous areas where the paint just missed the edges of the details. It's like decals applied just off centre. This has fast become a trend in Hasbro's figures, from 3 3/4" to 6" scale. Hopefully, this will be addressed soon. The 6" figures still are action figures and we can't really expect Sideshow, Hot Toys or Gentle Giant quality paint apps on a $20 figure, but a little bit more effort isn't too much to ask, I think. Lastly, I think it's strange that the body suit has a semi gloss finish, while the visor is flat black.

Articulation: the Clone Trooper has 14 points of articulation: ball jointed head, shoulders, wrists, waist and hips, double jointed elbows and knees and rocker ankles. This allows for the trooper to be placed in many positions, but I have found serious limitations as well, due to the way certain areas were sculpted.

In the next picture I have marked the areas which limit articulation. My biggest gripe is that the head can look down perfectly, but hardly up. Not at all, as a matter of fact. This is caused by the back armour. Another area of concern are the elbows. Again, the armour makes it hard to get some really cool blaster handling or signaling positions of the arms. The same goes for the thighs, making kneeling positions a bit awkward, although I did manage.

The shoulder armour is a real pain. Look at this picture: this is the maximum lift of the arm. Ephialtes, hello?!

It's a matter of sculpt accuracy versus posability, I guess. As a customizer, I have already thought about taking care of some of these areas. Shouldn't be too hard and yes, sculpt accuracy will be lost somewhat, but I'm willing to accept that.

Accessories: the Clone Trooper comes with a whopping two accessories, namely his trusted DC-15S blaster and the larger DC-15A blaster rifle. Both are finely detailed, but lack any kind of detailed painting. On top of that, the blasters are made of the softer type of plastic. The blasters are straight, don't get me wrong, but I prefer weapons to be molded in hard, unbendable plastic.

It might come across as if I don't like this figure at all and I must admit, when I had just unpacked them, I was a tad disappointed. But having handled them extensively for the photoshoot, trying to pose them in various positions, the Clone Trooper has already grown on me. A lot. In that I need more. With some careful modifications, these can go from nice looking troopers, to pretty darn good ones. If you have the space, it's definitely an army builder and being all white, an excellent template for making your own Clone officers. Except for the sarge, because Hasbro has him already lined up in a future wave.
