Collect All 92! / Re: Collect All 92!
« on: April 1, 2010, 12:04 PM »
Love the idea myself. I look forward the discussion. I actually have a display case with my vintage and their best modern counterpart. The only two missing a partner are Klaatu and Lumat.

Really? You must post some pics D_A. Most likely not nearly as impressive as your Imperial army, but you really should post 'em! And Lumat's just too cool. I love that grumpy look on his face and his "beer drinking" arm  8)

Do you insist on selling them as a lot or will you also consider breaking them up? I'm looking for fine replacements of my Emperor, Max Rebo, Nikto, and Gen. Madine, you see. And $15 is fine with me. I live in Holland, but I believe we've dealt before?

I agree, the EB KIt Chewie is the best modern counterpart of the Kenner version. At first I thought the VOTC one was, but when this one came along, it was a clear case.

This is pretty cool. Well, SW is cool by definition, especially when talking about the really old days! I've been in the process of collecting them actually, since summer last year  :) A lot of figures are pretty much perfect, but some still need to be updated/redone. Like er.... Emperor's Royal Guard  ;D

Some very interesting discussions could become of this, as well. Is the best modern one also the most articulated one? Or do sculpt and paint apps weigh in more? For example, in my opinion the EB Leia is a really excellent modern version of the Kenner one.

Watching this topic for replies and updates!

Thanks for the headsup Jesse, but I don't think I can view HBO.com content, since I live in the Netherlands. But no worres, there's always my trusty torrent client  :-X Nah, I'll wait till 04/07, so I can watch it in HD. We already know the outcome, so nothing to spoil, right?  ;)

Can't wait for this series to air here in Holland as well, which will be by the end of this month. I watch BoB every year, it's such an awesome series. I'm sure the same will apply to The Pacific.

Imagine the producers of these series tackling the Clone Wars or the Galactic Civil War?!

Okay, last Saturday I went to see Letz Zep, a very good Zep cover band. Sure, the singer didn't sound 100% like Plant, but the four of them really put on a groovy show. Very cool to hear timeless songs live like that.

The following Sunday I saw the FLC put on their best show ever. And I can tell, because I've seen 'em like 17 times. Except that one time we went to the venue to find out they were..... stuck at the airport  :-\

And the next day I saw the FLC again, playing a slightly different setlist, but equally outstanding. These guys just know exactly how to put on an excellent show and throw a big party  8)

Yeah well, I wasn't too impressed with Avatar, perhaps because it was such a predictable chain of events. Avatar won the right prizes imho. I think I'm biased as well. I'd take a lightsaber over a floating jellyfish in 3D anytime  :)

Received my prize a while ago as well, thanks again Ryan!

Not that I haven't got any customs I really should finish, but any news on a new contest? Hopefully we'll have more contestants then as well  :)

Wow, man, it has been a long time, but what an update! Where to begin?! Well, first of all, your customs are still as varied as ever, a trademark quality in your work.

As always, your paint work is spot on and very tidy. Especially the adult Tranoj looks absolutely marvelous. And his younger version is pretty impressive too.

Nexu Squad is just great. What a cool group of characters. They probably could benefit from some washes and weathering, though  :)

My favourite ones would have to be that old moisture farmer. I was scrolling down your page and when this guy came in view.... I was blown away. Such a simple background like character, yet really standing out there.

Great work man, glad to see you're still customizing and my compliments on your fine additions to your SWAG gallery! Love the airspeeders and b/w sketches of the Ithorian, Mon Cal and such  8)

I saw BB King at the North Sea Jazz festival here in Holland last year. That was one experience I'll never forget. Just beautiful.

Recently went to Machine Head and Fear Factory. Pretty damn awesome! And me and my best pal met up with Dino from Fear Factory!

« on: February 8, 2010, 07:16 AM »
We just had the first snow free weekend since half December  :( But now it's freezing again, night and day. And finally we've had an official White Christmas here in Holland since 1981 and all we Dutch do is bitch and moan about the ice, the snow, the cold, the traffic jams, where the hell spring is, etc. etc. Not me, though, if it's winter it has to be a Hoth one all the way  ;D

How's the situation over there in the Eastern States?! Hope you guys are doing ok!

Yes, the greatest TV show ever is back and I'm quite literally lost myself now  ;D I love it! That chick with the Japanese guy's gang, isn't that the stewardess on the parallel universe's airplane?
