Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Avatar
« on: December 17, 2009, 10:12 AM »
Watched a talkshow last night, which had two of our film makers/critics at the table. They both were quite impressed with the whole 3D thing, but storywise Avatar is pretty dull and appears to have a politically correct waving finger after all. I'll go see it with my best bud, but only to check out the 3D thing again.

First and only 3D movie I saw was Ice Age 3 and it was an awful experience. I got a splitting frontal headache and very tired eyes. Like when you have glasses/lenses that are just a decimal off in strength you know.

But like I said, I'll give Avatar a try.

Feedback / Re: Jim's (pka rebeltrader) feedback

Jim sold a couple of figures and shipped them out pretty fast across the Atlantic. Kept great comms throughout the deal, very pleasant guy to deal with!

Other Toy Lines / Re: Transformers

I recently bought my first TF in 20+ years! I picked the ROTF Deluxe Sideswipe. Awesome little car and a great bot. I've got the the Deluxe Sideways on its way, too. I've seen some pretty awesome customs of TFs of late, and want to try something wicked with these two...

We are tallying up all the votes and finalizing the prizes. Winners will be announced sometime this week. :)

Which week was that again?  ;)

Star Wars Universe / Re: Star Wars Saga Viewing Order?
« on: November 30, 2009, 07:09 AM »
Quite a while ago I saw this at GH.com as well. In that thread someone suggested something like this:

ANH - ESB - ROTJ up until Ben's "confession" to Luke - TPM - AOTC - ROTS - continue ROTJ.

Star Wars Universe / Re: Which Star Wars Movie Do You Watch the Most?

TESB by far. Haven't seen the prequels in years, but regularly watch the OT.

Star Wars Universe / Re: New Star Wars Trilogy (in 3D) Rumor
« on: November 30, 2009, 07:02 AM »
No thanks, seeing the current Carrie in a gold bikini isn't something I want to experience. Not in 3D, nor in 2D or 1D!

Besides, I watched Ice Age 3 3D in the theatre last summer and it was the most painful movie experience ever. I got a splitting headache from that stupid pair of 3D glasses as well as a sore arm from holding the thing up (it kept sliding down my nose). It was like wearing a pair of glasses with a wrong set of lenses. Really frustrating and tiring. The whole 3D hype didn't fade into nothingness for nothing you know. It should stay in the 80s and never return  :)

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Walmart CW Octuptarra Droid
« on: November 24, 2009, 02:14 PM »
Last week two Octuptarras knocked on my door, thanks to fellow scummer MAF. He kindly offered to pick these up for me at his Walmart for $20 each, ex.tax, whereas these babies are priced at roughly $60 each here in Holland. Even with priority mail shipping they still were a helluva lot cheaper!

I must say I am utterly impressed by this "vehicle". The size is incredible and it looks very detailed. From a modeller's/customizer's point of view, I'm not too happy with the hobo like cannons, but I can easily fix that. Of course I understand the play value of these missile launchers, which fire a missile quite hard!

Great product by Hasbro. Here's a couple of clickable thumbs from one of the two:

The Legacy Collection / Re: New or Redone Clone Commandoes?
« on: November 24, 2009, 02:03 PM »
Not even sure how "good" the Evo sculpt is, but of course it won't have 30 poa like a Microman body  ;D Commandos, troopers and Jedi should be articulated to the brim and Hasbro's a long way from that goal.

But I'd welcome an updated Delta Squad, because the old mold is one big disappointment. Kinda like the first Cody was as well. No need to redo Omega, anyone older than three can spray paint 'em black, so to speak.

Removable helmets? I say 'nay'. Never liked 'em on the troopers, they're way too big and the chins always peep underneath them.

 :)

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Have You "Made the Switch" to BluRay?
« on: November 24, 2009, 01:51 PM »
I bought a PS3 in september 2008, so have had blu-ray since then. I still have a regular 100Hz. Panasonic 28" TV, but bought John Mayer's blu ray and got 300 and Watchmen as a gift. I can't wait to see those in full HD one day and I've been whining to my g/f about a HD TV for quite some time now  ;)

And indeed, blu ray's taking over the shelves fast! But I think you have to look closely at the blu-ray disc's specs. If it's just a minor dvd concersion, I'll pass. But things like BBC's Earth boxset on blu-ray? Gonna buy it for sure. And SW of course, no matter how bad George will mess it up this time  :P

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Everything Rebelscum
« on: November 24, 2009, 01:45 PM »
Nah, nothing of the sort. RS just has this rule: no topics on politics, religion and/or war. But my intention was to address this awesome documentary of mostly never before seen footage of the time, colourized by a French company. So my topic wasn't so much about the war, but more so about the documentary and the enormous task of making it. It didn't look corny or cheesy at all, but quite real, as if it was all recorded in colour.

Ah well, I guess RS is more your typical conventional US SW site, eh? But what'd you expect from a Dutch guy like me?  ;D

My g/f sometimes just does this  ::) when another parcel of figures arrives. Glad she wasn't home when those two CW Octuptarras knocked on my door  ;D

But I've got a nice little room for my collection and customizing needs, although I've got five boxes of potential fodder on the attic. But most of my collection is in that little room. And the room is getting smaller by the week  ;)

Heck, didn't even know there was a thread about RS! Guess I should visit the non-SW discussion section here more often, eh?

Anyway, I'm mostly at RS for the customs and fellow scummer (and Defender, too!) Daigo_Bah does one helluva job making thread indexes on dioramas, vehicles and figures. Crap, I really should get back helping him out with the latter  :-\

Censorship is pretty hard there. Can't even say "balls" there! And when I started a thread about a wonderful 6-part NatGeo WW2 documentary called "Apocalypse" I got a mod's PM within 5 minutes saying he removed it  :o Hmph....

So um, forgive my undoubtedly childlike question here, but I was wondering if two people can log on to the PSN on one console. You see, I have an account and always automically log on when I turn on the PS3. But my g/f likes to play along with some Tekken and LBP every now and then and I was wondering if I made her an account as well, she could log on at the same time?
