Finally saw some of the new TBS figs at target, mostly the 3.75" figs but they had ONE 6" R2 on the shelf, after reading the reviews for several figs, they only ones I'd get are of course Boba Fett, but I dig the Sandtrooper - why they made that one vs the clean Stormtrooper first I don't know. But those are the only two I'd pay $20 for until they put out a Vader and clean Stormtrooper.
But it was cool to finally see something NEW on the shelves after such a long time.

In no particular order:
1. Dagobah Yoda (w/ separate vader/luke helmet head)
2. Dagobah Luke (jedi training)
3. Adm. Ozzell (w/alt force-choked head)
4. Gen. Veers
5. Capt./Adm. Piett
6. Rogue Two (with alt/bloody nose head)
7. Han Solo (regular outfit on Falcon/Bespin - not post torture)
8. B-a-D C-3p0 (Bespin blaster effect)
9. Boba Fett (re-release)
10. Rebel Echo base staff: Gen. Riekeen, 'John Ratzenburger' rebel, Ion Control chick or generic Hoth rebel soldiers.

And although not figures but NEW playsets: Hoth Echo Base control room, Hoth Hanger, Vaders' SD bridge set w/ private chamber (a la 500th vader); new Dagobah and Bespin playsets.

We can dream, right?

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Speculation
« on: May 12, 2013, 11:42 AM »
there is so much speculation about what *will* happen vs what us fans *want* to happen. I can definitely see Luke/Leia/Han as realistically older versions of themselves with their respective children - Jacen/Jaina/Anakin Solo and Ben Skywalker.  As long as the actors cast are halfway decent and JJ can write a decent story and dialogue, I think we'll all be 'relatively' happy with it.

I never did add my review last weekend but my son and I loved it. I could tell right away it was going to have a different 'feel' to it - if that is something you can discern by the style of new director shane black. I was also a little giddy at hearing one of my fav nerdy 90's techno songs 'Blue' at the start of the movie though not hearing anything by ac-dc to start it off was an "oh, ok..." moment.  but as the story unfolded I liked what they did, not being an expert on iron man from the comics, any inconsistencies didn't bother me.  It had a very different pace to the story, not as slow as the previous ones (not saying they dragged at all, this one just had a quicker pace to it). I thouroughly enjoyed the dialogue and snappy back n forth between tony and pepper, tony and rhodey and how tony interacted with the kid (though I did say to myself "did he really just say 'p**sy' to the kid?).  But I have to say the really big 'shock' to me was when pepper fell into the fireball during the final fight - I was like 'did they really just kill her off?'; but I suspected she'd survive due to her extremis treatment. I really dug all the cool iron man suits, just wished they'd given a little more close up time to each of them but I'd seen enough of the suits online and in the official iron man 3 movie magazine I got.
Overall I was very happy with it, I asked my son how he liked it and which one was his fav and he enthusiastically said 'this one!'.  can't wait for the dvd set in a few months!

well of the all the 6" black series figures, this boba fett even as an exclusive is one I'd love to have along with a Stormtrooper and Vader.  We'll just have to see how they all shake out.

Hall of Justice / Re: Man of Steel- The Toys
« on: May 5, 2013, 12:02 PM »
saw these for the first time at wally, basic figures look sorta cool but keeping with the 'new less articulated' "action figures" I easily passed. they did have ONE of the movie masters Supes, and can't say I was totally impressed - I'm still NOT digging the redesigned suit, looks too much like spiderman's basketball material.

my son and I are going to go see it either later today or tomorrow depending upon local weather so I can do my yardwork ;)  and as much as I DON'T want to pay for 3D, I'd like a pair of the cool character 3D glasses I heard about the theaters will have.

Other Toy Lines / Re: The Walking Dead

Saw the bloody b/w set of Michonne and her two walker pets at TRU, in their nifty security enhanced package no less. guess they really fear people stealing them. But nice set nonetheless.

I have to agree, as stoked as I am for the new IM3 movie, I'm totally disappointed that the toy  line has been reduced to 5 points of articulation and very crappy looking on top of that. I can understand cutting costs - so how about NOT producing 500 million of the same figure that will sit on store pegs until the NEXT movie comes out 2/3 years later? They've done the same with last years' Dark Knight Rises figures - limited articulation and five flavors of batman outfits using the same mold, But at least they have cloth capes. Then only a very badly done Bane figure, no Gordon, no JGL figure or Selina/Catwoman or Alfred. oh well...

and lauren cohan who plays maggie, while definitely a hottie, is a little light up top; not that there's anything wrong with that, just saying compared to laurie holden, she def had a little more boom boom going on.

I think they should take a cue from how Morgan setup those zombie traps in "Clear", place a few of those out in the prison yard to trap some of them for easier pickins. at least they tried to setup barricades on the fenced in crosswalks that Glen and Maggie attached from using left over pallets and the metal table tops from the cafeteria. They need to do some more fortifications and search the prison and since Tyreese is with them now, he can show them the other side where the wall collapsed.

I remember the Gov and group had found a tack and barely got it working, couldn't shoot at all they all they could do was drive it forward and backward but it was intimidating to no end!

it's like comparing the finale of season 1 to season 2 - two very different stories being told and I felt the same with this one; though I thought someone besides Andrea from the 'good guys' would die or at least get injured. Loved how Gov beat milton and stabbed him then said: "You're not leaving this room till you kill her - one way or the other. You either Kill or die OR Die and then Kill". But I totally didn't see Andrea dying until they showed up at the end and saw her feet. Michonne staying with her showed how much she really did care for Andrea. The Gov turning on his own people was just right for his psychopathic turn.

All the good guys will be captured. I think Michonne will be surrounded by the governor's men and rather than surrender, decapitate herself with her sword in a manner that can only be called "glorious gorey".

Judith will speak her first words "Let my people go!" and Woodburians will be awestruck. The governor will declare it as some sort of trick, but the people's faith will let them see the truth and they'll stone the governor to death.

Milton gives up science to start the Church of the Judith Grimes of Latter Day Saints.

Or none of that, really.

LOL that's pretty damn funny!
Guess we'll find out in 12 hours from now.
Happy zombie rabbit day!

No inside info here just my own speculation but I can see beth and hershal dying to protect the baby in the cell block; Rick and Carl survive of course; maybe maggie and/or glen either get killed outright or turned forcing the other one to put them down. I see the Gov surviving but with injuries but not before he shots Milton like he did Merle so he'll turn. This causes Andrea to put zombie-Milton down but wonders if he really did have any 'memory recall' as he tried to determine. Martinez and Shump are sure to get killed and probably Allen too but not before he shoots Sasha causing her to turn. This time, big brother Tyreese will shot her, proving he could hit his target when it mattered. Tyreese then shoots Allen so he'll turn. Plus about a dozen Woodbury locals and as many zombies as Michonne can decapitate with her sword.
