Jocasta's Reading Room / Re:NJO Traitor
« on: February 27, 2003, 08:43 AM »
I just read to the part where Jacen realizes the truth about the Force - there is no Light side or dark side of the Force, only light or dark in the person weilding the Force. The fact that this book focused soley on Jacen and Vergere is a testament to the design of the NJO where each story can be independant yet still part of the overall story.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re:New Jedi Order
« on: February 27, 2003, 08:39 AM »
I'v been a follower of the NJO since it started and it has been very interesting. I like the long story arc so they can let characters and plots develop. Eventhough there has been some controversy about Chewie and Anakin dying, it wouldn't have been realistic for some of the major players to not die.
I really like most of the books with only a couple that were'nt as good. Overall, I think this has been a sucessfully ambitious project and look forward to the end of the series.

I hope Aayla Secura is out by April so I can get Amy Allen to autograph one at the Chiller Theatre show.  :)

hey she's coming to my hometown greensboro NC in april also! we're having I think the first ever SW convention april 19-20 and AA is going to be here. I would like to get her to autograph the figure (if I find one) and IF the autos don't cost too much!  :-\

Saga '02-'04 / Re:New Pics, Wedding Padme, Wat Tambor and Coleman
« on: February 26, 2003, 11:15 AM »
I'm looking forward to the Wat Tambor figure and Coleman looks cool - ANOTHER jedi! but Padme looks sick. The body is okay but the face is not good. On another note, though, At least they ARE including bases to help the figures stand, be displayed. I have many ep1 figures that can't stand at all!

Toy Reviews / Ep2 Slave 1
« on: February 24, 2003, 11:57 PM »
I finally found this ship last month on sale for $12 so it was MINE! ;D
The first thing I noticed was how sturdy it feels; no flimsy plastic here.  The design and coloring are realistic and detailed. I STILL have my original Slve 1 from 20 years ago and recently checked on it's status. Though it had the opening ramp and entranceway and the rotating chair. I think I like the new one much better. Jango fits perfectly; I have the Kamnio escape Jango and can stick his rocket pack into a hole on the back of the cockpit perfectly. The stabalizer wings don't rotate with gravity like the original does but they are nicely designed. The weapons are cool and work, though they took some liberties with them. The sonic charges were released from the back/bottom of the ship in the movie, here they drop out of the 'snout' nose. THe firing missiles work very well and get some distance too! The missle chamber holds 4 at a time with 4 more stowed in specific spots on the bottom of the ship. I give it  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Toy Reviews / Re:Can someone review the Clone Scout?
« on: February 24, 2003, 09:10 AM »
 ;D
I think the deluxe clone biker scout is pretty cool, as long as he's on the speeder bike. I don't know IF this is a new bike design or a rehash but I like it. The Clone figure itself is pretty cool to me. WHen I first saw the images of a clone trooper last year with a removable helmet, Iwas like  ;D WOW Cool!. Then more images were posted showing him with removable armor. As fo rmine, the armor stays on firmly. THe body armor is hard plastic while the helmet is rubber/soft plastic and is easy to remove and put back on. I have to twist the legs on mine curl the feet under the bike to help hold him onto the bike.  The throwing feature is lame though and has an obtrusive black button coming out of his back. He can only hold onto the bike's handles with his left hand. When he is off the bike, he is in a wide leged stance but it's not too awkward to me. Hey it's a CLONE TROOPER< what more can I ask for? I dig 'em!! :D

Toy Reviews / Re:Clone Pilot Review
« on: February 24, 2003, 08:59 AM »
I got th eclone pilot when the Ep2 dvd came out in Nov. I really like it. The pose is more made for the ball cannon so without it, he looks like he's leaning, but that's okay. His sculpt and detail are very good. The new helmet is cool as well. He is articualated at head (side to side AND up and down!), shoulders, elbows, waist and hips.
