First of all, here's hoping for a safe year with no major injuries to any players. That said, I'll be pulling for my local favorite team the Cam-olina Panthers as they challenge for the NFC South. Other teams I like and follow are the Raiders, Ravens, Texans, Vikings, Bengals, Lions.

I haven't seen the Bucs defense play a game like that since Gruden was coach and Kiffin was DC.  Mark Barron's hit on Smith brought back memories of John Lynch... McCoy was all over Newton (shades of Sapp).  I can't remember the last time the Bucs harassed a QB that much.  And I also can't remember the last time the Bucs held an opponent to that few yards on the ground - 10 total yards rushing for Cam Newton / DeAngello Wiliams / Mike Tolbert.  And another thing I can't remember... the last time the Bucs played an entire half without any penalties.  Schiano has this team headed in the right direction... After three years of Raheem Morris, it's fun thinking the Bucs have a chance to win games again.

And it was really sweet having them win considering that all I heard all week long was Cam Newton this, Cam Newton that... He had a great season last year no doubt, but I want to see him do it twice before we start carving his bust for Canton.

I'm beyond happy at this point, but with NYG and Dallas up next, I think the Bucs are looking at 1-2.
For real, the Bucs totally embarrassed the Panthers, ,much to my dismay. And we host the pissed off Saints this week then the Giants, with a trip to Atlanta after that for our first quarter of the season; why oh why do I now see 0-4 or at best 1-3 by then? Frackety frack frack!

Being out of work pretty much killed my collecting desires so unless it's something my son wants for his birthday or christmas, I'm not gonna get it.

no idea on either of those questions, best thing to do is check each retailer's website for specific details.  And rejoice for they have finished the first half finale recently; soon to begin on the second half of season 3.

I also saw these at wally today, they had all but Hulk. They look really good for the most part, I'd say Iron Man, Hawkeye and Loki looked the best, with Cap next then Thor, just wasn't quite sold on him. But for $16 each, just not in my non-existent budget.

Scored one Hawkeye today at the oldest wallyworld in my town this morning. Saw they had about 4 skrulls on the pegs so I knew they at least "HAD" a couple Hawkeye's and Black Widow's at some point. Then I looked down on the shelf and there were two Hawkeye's waiting to be purchased. Picked the one with the best paint job as far as I could tell.

I know they filmed in both Chicago and Pittsburgh, but they digitally alter the cityscapes anyway. But I agree, in a 'real world' I always imagined Gotham was either in Jersey or NY; Metropolis always seemed to be NYC's twin.

mother**** Hasbro.  I just picked up a set of the new TMNT figures from Playmates for $8.99 each from Target.  Way more plastic, more articulation, more weapons, and a better price point.  If Playmates can put out TMNT figures like that for $8.99, Star Wars guys should be $6.99, tops.

I am pretty sure they do not have more articulation - I know for a fact most dont have ankles and many have no knees on top of that.  More plastic?  yes, but I havent inspected them enough yet to even say they are all unique sculpts - I am talking turtles here.  hi def pics here  http://www.itsalltrue.net/?p=19490 .  It looks like the shells and the heads are the only thing different to me.

With Star Wars there is licensing costs, likeness costs, and, if it is not a clone, all unique, super articulated sculpts - with WAY more paint details.

I read a review that stated they each have different sculpts. Michaelangelo in particular is smaller than the other turtles (since he's supposedly the youngest).

Plus, this looks like a lot more articulation to me.

I prefer the NECA turtles from a few years ago, based on the comics...but this is already way off-topic.

I still have some or most of my original TMNT figs from when they first came out. The new deluxe ones look really good and have TONS of articulation - even finger and toe joints!

I saw the Helicarrier thing at TRU the other day.  It looked a lot smaller than I expected, and kind of silly because it was so small.  It was $69.99.  They had two of them.

Yeah I was gonna post that I'd found one at TRU as well but never got to it. I agree it looked way too small and very 'toy-ish'.

Anybody else having a tough time finding a movie version of Cap?  I figured he'd be somewhat of a pegwarmer, so I put off picking one up when the line first hit.  But now all I see is the Super Shield version and an occasional rocket launcher concept version.  I've seen way more unmasked rocket launcher versions than I have movie versions lately.

my son wanted one for his recent bday and I had to hit up a few stores to finally find one. When it comes to Thor though, he and I both preferred the figs from the Thor movie and so when TRU had their $7 figs two weeks ago I got him 3 sw figs and thor and loki from the thor movie line; much better overall than the avengers' version.

Waiting to go see it for a week or two...  Pittsburgh only crows this much about anything when it's sports related, and so there's no way I'm going to overcrowded theaters and dealing with BatNerds (what kind of loser obsesses over a film franchise!  ::)).

Seriously I'll wait this out...  The kids want to go though, so we'll wind up going at some point.  Gonna sit and watch the first two this weekend with everyone, hopefully, and so they're kinda caught up on what's what, and who's who.  They keep coming to me asking questions like I'm a Batman afficionado...  I need to introduce them to Jim and let him just explain all this stuff.

Jimmy Fallon's pardody of the trailer with Pee Wee Herman voice-over was funny though.  I wonder if P.W. liked it?

yeah my son wanted see it after seeing the trailer when we saw Avengers in May and while out of town he went with his cousin to the midnight show. He said he loved it, which I'm glad because he hadn't seen the other two movies. I'm sure he'll have lots a questions when he comes home and since I'm kind of a Batman aficionado (loser who obsesses overs a movie franchise lol) I'm sure I can convert him to the Dark (knight) Side!

both Batman Begins (fx) and The Dark Knight (tnt) are on tv tonight. I totally enjoyed the dark knight rises. I went in with my expectations in check, knowing it might be better than TDK, just as good or not as good. I would say it is even with TDK, but that's after countless viewings of it; once I see this several more times, I'll be better able to list it. I was happily surprised by ann hathaway's performance as selina kyle - she's never called 'catwoman'. It was subtle, sexy, strong all rolled into one with a dose of vulnerability. Bane was better than I expected too but even after all this time, there were still a few places where I couldn't understand a thing he said. But the overall story arc of the movie plus how it ties into the previous movies worked very nicely. As far as batman toys goes, man I want to get 'the bat' because it is one awesome vehicle!
