Watto's Junk Yard / Re: A Game of Thrones (HBO)
« on: March 7, 2012, 07:59 AM »
I have my season 1 set coming from Amazon and will be watching as soon as I get it (first time).

I just finished Clash of Kings last night and immediately started on Storm of Swords.  Thinking about getting HBO just for season two.

The Bullpen / Re: 2011/2012 Marvel Legends
« on: February 20, 2012, 08:39 AM »
Found my set yesterday at Target.  It's great to finally see Legends return to the shelves.  I refused to buy the Universe figures out of protest (and not wanting to start another collection in another scale), so it's been a long time since I bought a Marvel figure (other than the occasional two pack).

Terrax was one of my biggest wants and he doesn't disappoint.  He's going to look great on the Galactus / FF / Space shelf.  Klaw's a little disappointing in his size, but at least it's good to get another classic villian on the shelves (same with Constrictor, although I like him better.  Must be the better costume).  Steve's got a big noggin and seems to be oversized just a tad.  Hope's ok I guess, but I don't really know who she is as I'm more of a DC comic reader nowadays.  Iron Man I only really bought for the BAF piece, but it's a good representation of the Extremis armor.

Wave 2 looks even better.  Two members of the Wrecking Crew, probably my biggest wants in the line over the years, 2 classic female villians in Madam Masque and Viper plus a classic villian BAF.  Bucky Cap is looking good also.

Time to start thinking about rearranging the shelves as I'm quickly running out of room between all the Marvel and DC 6" figures I have (with a **** ton more coming).

Joe Defender / Re: GI Joe 25th Alpine
« on: February 20, 2012, 08:24 AM »
Damn, I guess I got lucky with my Alpine.  I made a Best Offer to a seller on ebay for a bunch of unique Joes from the vehicles, 5 packs, etc (Alpine, Lift Ticket, Dusty, etc) a while back.  I think I got Alpine for something like $15.

Definitely one of my favorite figures from the 25th anniversary line.

And that canceled Snowpine looks like ****.

Super Star Destroyer revealed

Coming soon on Lego.com

My wife (and by extension my boys) went way above the call of duty and got me this bad boy for my birthday yesterday.  I told her she didn't have to spend that kind of money on me but I am extremely grateful.

I honestly don't know where I'm, one, going to build it and two, where I'm going to put once it's done.

LEGO / Re: Lego Mini Planet/Ship/Figure Sets

Saw them at TRU this week as well and passed till either a sale nets me them for a ltitle less, or at least a lower pricepoint at Target/Wal-Mart (I hope).

Yeah, I hate TRU's jacked up prices.  Once they hit the Lego Store, Walmart or Target, they should be $10.  I have a $25 gift card from Xmas to the Lego Shop that I was going to use on them, but they weren't in as of last Saturday.  I think the new sets hit Lego Stores earlier this week, so they should be there next I go.

First look at the new movie toys

Other than the Halo helmet, I'm kind of digging the Joe Trooper

So I still have some Joe's to get rid of.  Someone on another site basically backed out of buying these from me:

1x Lifeline
1x Airtight (Renegades)
1x Law & Order (Renegades)
1x Sci-Fi
1x Techno Viper
1x Scarlett (Renegades)
1x Cobra Trooper (Renegades)
1x Ripcord (Renegades)
1x Tunnel Rat (Renegades)

$9.62 each (my cost).  Thankfully I still have a receipt to return these if no one wants them.

I'll take them all except Scarlett, Ripcord and Tunnel Rat.  I'm tired of trying to find these in the stores.  Shoot me a PM to discuss.

I got a couple of cases of Wave 4 today. The new figures are absolutely wonderful! Considering it took nearly a year for them to make it out I'm surprised they didn't disappoint.

Now for a shameless plug: I ended up with some extra Renegades figures, so if anyone wants any Tunnel Rats, Scarletts, Cobras, or Ripcords for a buck or two less than retail feel free to shoot me a PM! I also have an extra set of Lifeline, SciFi, Airtight, and Law&Order loose but unfortunately those are a bit more expensive. :P

Depending on price, I'd be interested in Lifeline, SciFi, Airtight, L&O and a Cobra Trooper Greg.  Shoot me a PM to discuss.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Re: JD Book Club: What Are You Reading Now?
« on: January 13, 2012, 08:28 AM »
Reading Game of Thrones right now.  Surprised to find how closely the series followed the book...at least so far.

Ditto, although I haven't watch the HBO series yet. I'm not a big fantasy reader (really only LOTR), but I'm enjoying it very much so far.  It's not a tough read per se, but the amount of characters to keep track of is mindblowing.

I have the first four books and will buy the fifth when it's released in paperback.  B&N had them on sale right before Christmas buy 2 get 1 free and with a coupon I had, I got the first three (they didn't have the forth) for something like $19 total.

If you're not a subscriber, you can buy single figures on the day of sale.  You'll have to pay slightly more and deal with Mattycollector's **** website, though.
