I have all mine in an Excel spreadsheet but will soon update to guzzlefish.  Thanks for the link, Virex.

So far, the only two movies I have in guzzlefish are Best in Show and Waiting for Guffman, which I just received from Amazon.

I own John Andretti's 1/24th scale Attack of the Clones Nascar car and the three 1/64th Star Wars that were mail in cereal premiums around the releast of AOTC last year.  Even with my love of all things Star Wars, I refuse to buy Jeff Gordon's TPM car because the guy's a tool.

At work, we have 1/64th Nascar cars of almost all the drivers.  Granted a few sponsors and / or numbers are outdated, but the concept is there.  We line up the cars in the order they've finished for that week's race.

Pretty cool, much better than Power Rangers Green Goblin

Edited for TV movies.  I was watching Dumb and Dumber yesterday on TBS and so much was cut out.  They can show Harry getting shot multiple times but not him taking a dump?  (One of the best scenes in the movie.  What can I say, I love toilet (no pun intended) humor ;))

When TV channels shrink the credits and show a commercial that was played five thousand during the movie instead of the full credits.  I was watching 10 Things I Hate About You (a guilty pleasure).  I love the version of Cheap Trick's I Want you to Want me
played by Letters to Cleo at the end of the movie, but USA decides to shrink it and show an ad for Dead Zone.  And its not like the song is played over the credits on a black screen.  The band is playing on top of the high school.  In my view, its part of the movie.  Don't cut it out.

You know, maybe I should just go out and buy both movies on dvd and not worry about.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Scale Figures: How Important is it to You?
« on: July 18, 2003, 08:17 AM »
Good thread Adam.

I only collect two lines: Star Wars (duh) and Marvel Legends.  Obviously, ML doesn't have any vehicles, so scale is in relation to each figure.  And for the most part, Toy Biz is fairly accurate.  The one glaring mistake is Wolverine, who's scaled at around 6', where in actuality he's more like 5'4".  He doesn't look right next to Magneto, Beast, etc.  He needs to be shorter, Logan shouldn't tower over them.  The other figs are good: Thor is considerably bigger than Cap, Torch and Namor.  From the looks of wave V, scale is still good, with larger figs in the comics (Colossus, Abomination, Hulk, etc.) accurately portrayed in toy form.

Now on to Star Wars.  Figure wise, Hasbro has been getting better over the last few years.  For instance, Chewie Bespin with Bespin escape Leia.  Looks perfect.

Vehicle wise, well its always been hit or miss, and I think the main issue with scaled vehicles is price.  Would I love a more accurately scaled Millenium Falcon?  Of course, but at what price?  $200?  $300?  I don't know.  Considering the one we have now cost $50 (back in 95 before the line took off, mind you) and the AT-AT was priced around $75, I don't think $200 for an accurately scaled Millenium Falcon is too far off.  Will it sell?  Probably not.  Look at the Dagabah X-wing.  Its one of the more accurately scaled vehicles in the Star Wars line and is reasonably priced at $40 and is still clogging shelves at TRU.

For the most part, I'm happy with what I've gotten from Hasbro.  I think as long as the porportions are there, its really not that bad.  I know the B-wing and Y-wing are larger in "real" life, but I personally think Hasbro did a great job capturing the scale with these two ships and still kept reasonably priced.  Of course, I had to resort to
ebay for my Y-wing and paid over retail for it, but that's a topic for another thread and one that's been discussed to death.

When I saw my new dancing icon on another forum, I knew it would compliment Spidey, so I just had to have it  ;) Plus I knew you guys would get a kick out of it.

On to ML.  Awesome.  I've been jonesing for these pics for awhile now and they don't disappoint.

Colossus is nothing short of amazing and will be the very first one I pick up.

I like all the rest, with Sabretooth and MF probably being my least favorite, although still good.  Where are MF's stretchy hands?

I'll pick and choose the HC and XMC figs, like I do with SMC.  Definitely getting Archangel (although his face looks a little weird) and Cyclops.  I'll decide on the Wolverines when I see them.  Abomination is a definite and will probably pick up the intelligent Hulk (the one with glasses)  I didn't see his feet but hopefully he comes with his pink bunny slippers that he was wearing when he carried that gun in the comic.

Great news.  With all the bad news in the world, this and Britney finally admitting she's not a virgin, has certainly picked me up  ;)

Asajj is the best out of the bunch followed by Obi Wan.  I kind of like Durge in a guilty pleasure sort of way and Mace looks good except for the chicken neck.

3144
Dignitary - Excellent.  Hopefully the second is a sculpt of the vintage one and not simply a repaint (red highlights instead of purple)

Bail Organa - another perfect static posed figure.  Dead on sculpt.  Awesome accessory.

Padme - see Bail.  It looks like hers and Bail's bases attach to others.  Homestead and Palpy's office dioramas, maybe?

concept Stormie - I don't know.  I like the shield but overall the fig looks too blocky.  Does anyone remember the other choices for FC4?  I know I didn't vote for concept Stormie, but don't remember who the other choices were and who I voted for.

New MOTU figures

Man talk about beating a dead horse.  Why so many different versions of main characters.  I don't collect this line, but you guys that do must be pissed.  Does any body actually buy all these ridiculous versions of the main characters?

The Fisto and Snake Men figs look good though.

Oh, god!  I don't understand why my Yankees would pursue Armando Benitez!  I think my chances of suffering a heart attack have just gone up exponentially.  :(

I hope he blows as many games for the Yankees as he did for the Mets.
