Jocasta's Reading Room / Omnibus reading order
« on: March 7, 2012, 01:11 PM »
Wanted to see how everyone reads the timeline and give my take.
I went with what ever story takes place first in a particular Omnibus based on 0 BBY

A Long Time Ago...(I consider the Marvel book an entire different timeline so I just read it separate)

Star Wars Legacy Read all of the films first in whatever order you like, this is what the EU is based on so reading it in exact order does not fly with me.  I like to see the core story Lucas came up with and I consider every comic that came after that, weather its in the past, present or future, to be influenced by the original films, so the films should just come first IMO.
I prefer the Marvel adaptions of the original films because they reprint the individual issues and I like the original adaption to A new Hope

Star Wars Omnibus: Tales of the Jedi Volume 1

Star Wars Omnibus: Tales of the Jedi Volume 2

Star Wars Omnibus: Quinlan Vos—Jedi in Darkness

Star Wars Omnibus: Rise of the Sith

Star Wars Omnibus: Emissaries and Assassins

Star Wars: Omnibus--Droids

Boba Fett Omnibus

Star Wars Omnibus: At War with the Empire Volume 1

Star Wars Omnibus: At War with the Empire Volume 2

Star Wars Omnibus: The Other Sons of Tatooine

Star Wars Omnibus: Early Victories

Star Wars Omnibus: Shadows of the Empire

Star Wars: Omnibus--X-Wing Rogue Squadron Vol. 1

Star Wars: Omnibus--X-Wing Rogue Squadron Vol. 2

Star Wars: Omnibus--X-Wing Rogue Squadron Vol. 3

Star Wars Omnibus: Droids and Ewoks(not sure where or if this fits into anything)

The only comics I ever read were the original Marvel (the first TPS are how revisited these) and Star Wars tales...oh and some infinities.
I found that I love these Omnibus things though.  Reading stuff I never saw before and its a good time.  The Boba Fett one was cool.

Finally going to mail away for mine within the next few days since the deadline is about a month away. I'm assuming I shouldn't try sending any Movie Heroes/Maul Packaging UPC codes?

I've been waiting on sending out for one of these for a friend.  I had 4 UPCs from Vintage figures here and was waiting for the new stuff for the next UPC.  I picked up a Phase II Clone and threw in that UPC to get to 5.  They cashed my check.  I don't think sending in 5 from the new stuff would be a problem.

The Vintage Collection / Re: How Much is Too Much?
« on: February 15, 2012, 08:16 AM »
I reached my point a long time ago.  I pick up a few new vintage now and again (I'll get a Tarkin and Sandtrooper) I did get a Phase 2 Clone but that's about it.  I collect vintage stuff I had as a kid when I see it cheap.
If you think the Hasbro prices are too much (I do) you should try collecting Kubricks.  I'm not just talking about what chase figures fetch in the secondary market, I'm talking about the huge price increase compared to what i paid when these things first came out.  Had to stop those all together.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / New Clone Wars quality
« on: February 8, 2012, 04:08 PM »
I picked up a phase II Clone and compared to the phase I clone its lacking.  The plastic seems much cheaper and it has nearly nothing in the way of articulation compared to its counterpart.
anyone else notice?

Always liked the animation in the Droids cartoon.

Kubricks / Re: eBay Kubrick Scams and Fakes

Some one went for it.  It finished over $0 big ones.  Not sure what a normal Fett goes for these days, but my guess is that it was not worth it.  Especially since the winner did not stand a chance at getting a secret.

Someone should have read this auction more closely.  There is no way this turned out to be a chase.  The box pictured is from Series 1 and the pics show series one Fetts along with what I think is a secret from the Fett series itself.  Wish I saw this sooner.  The main point being that I doubt he was selling an untouched series 1 case of 96 as random boxes.  he must have gone through them first to find the chase figures.  Just looked fishy.
I don't collect Kubricks at all anymore.  I was trying to find a price on a Special Forces secret so I could sell it, when I came across this:

Star Wars Universe / Re: Star Wars on Blu-Ray

So...I think I should have read more about what was on this set instead of assuming everything from the previous releases was here.  I went to the deleted scenes for the prequels and found that allot of the stuff on the regular DVds is not here at all.  What a fuc@ing joke.
