In this case I am thinking a symbol probably mainly recognized by the Republic and the clone armies. A friend of mine said is looks too engineer like, so I am going to give it a shot without the middle details to make it more basic like you said, get rid of the spikey swirls and tilt the design 45 degrees and see how it looks...

EDIT -
OK, going to change the title of the thread...
How about we as a community come up with a medical symbol for use for Republic, Empire, Alliance, etc...
How about it? We all could submit ideas and vote on a generalized symbol.
Think about it this way, if there was a wide spread use of a symbol agreed upon, when someone made a custom of say a medic, or engineer, or janitor, etc... they could throw a symbol onto their custom and there would be no doubt of what the custom was of!
Another thing to think about. The 501st eventually became Star Wars canon and it just started out as a bunch of fans who dressed up as stormtroopers. With enough wide spread use of a symbol though the customizing community might eventualy catch on to other things, like the star wars rpg, star wars galaxies, maybe even the comics and who know...maybe in one of the planned star wars television projects. I am not saying that for certain it will, but wouldnt it be worth giving it a shot?

So my idea is lets as a community come up with some ideas for some symbols for different groups:
Organizations: (for example...)
Rebel Alliance
Republic
Galactic Empire

Occupations to have a generalized symbol for...
Medical (Medic, first aid, hospital symbols)
Engineer
Radiation
Biohazard
(just a few examples...)

These would not be universal, but significant for a specific Government type.

So lets start making our mark in the Star Wars Expanded Universe!!!

EDIT - I have changed the title to reflect a modification in the theme of this discussion. Continued in the next post by me in this thread... Jesse, your input inspired me to changed the direction of this thread...I hope its ok with the way I am doing it...

(Old information from previous version of the thread).
I have been searching for a medical or medic symbol for star wars but never found one. Since I do have a Clone Medic in the planning stages, I figured I would need to develope one. I wanted something that would look similar to a real world Medic symbol but also look Star Wars-ish...
Here is what I came up with:

I wanted you guys to let me know what you think. Suggestions on how it should or shouldnt look, or is it ok as is?
Real world medic symbol:

Absolutely! They left too many questions open for her to really be dead. This is Galactica, not Twin Peaks.

Heheh... Too bad Frank Silva who played "Bob" in Twin Peaks was not still alive. He would have made a really creepy Cylon! (well he would have made anything creepy!)

Well with all the hinting from the producers and "someone" not showing up in the main credits next season, she might be returning as a guest star from time to time (which would not have her on the main credits anymore)
From what I understand Katie Sackoff is filming a movie (or more) so this may not be a permanent thing. (or maybe it is.)
I enjoyed the episode despite the killing off of a main character.
I guess she was not kidding arround in that video link I posted a few weeks back...I am glad I posted the spoiler warning.

Does anyone know what comic and issues he was in?

EDIT -
Also does anyone have any decent color pics of him? Like variations on his flight uniform and did he have a flight helmet?

First off...what a beautiful thread that I can appreciate!
I love this forum for allowing such fun conversations to participate in!

Hmmm last time I "threw up" was self-induced about two years ago. I had drank too much one night and in my highly intoxicated state realized that if I did not force myself to do so before passing out, that I might die of alcohol poisoning. (Since I was drinking vodka, my body itself did not try to induce vomiting like it does with almost any other form of alcohol.) Since then I had started to cut down on my drinking considerably.

I am curious if the tan "exoskeleton" we see on Zuckuss is an environmental encounter suit or his exoskeleton? I have found a reference image of a gand (from the Rogue Squadron Comic I beleive...) that shows what the face looks like without the breathing aparatus, but it looks like it might be a slightly different look to the head also. Another point is that on Zuckuss, the breathing aparatus looks integrated to the face, leaving me to beleive that it is an encounter suit.
Does anyone have any information on this? Wikipedia and Wookipedia seem kinda vague on the subject (not to mention if its even accurate at all...)
The reason I want to know this, is because in the future, I plan on sculpting up some various Gand figures, but wanted to give them removable helmets, if the exoskeleton we see is actually an encounter suit.
The reference from the comic I found was only in black and white, so I dont know if they character's skin/exoskeleton color is different with/without the breathing aparatus making it harder to determine. Could anyone who might have these comics tell me if there is anymore information on this? I would so very much appreciate the help.

Just in case someone has not watched it yet on tape or Tivo...

Ok... my problem with tonight's episode is this: Why the hell are the people that were in the house with nuclear guy on meltdown not dying of radiation poisoning? That was one of the most extreme cases they have shown of his power and no one is starting to have hair missing or radiation burns? (Other than Clair of course, but she regenerates)
Well enough of my complaining... I will now take a chill pill and remember the lyrics to the song...
"If you're wondering how he eats and breathes
And other science facts,
Just repeat to yourself It's just a show,
I should really just relax"

That is great news! I look forward to the new adventures!

OK, that was a long delay getting to posting the updated pics...
I just recovered from being sick...bleh...
So here is what I have at the moment...
Fallout Trooper Commander (left) Fallout Trooper Grunt (right)

Imperial Recon Trooper (probably post-Battle of Endor or between ep 3 and 4)

Good news is I finaly found a technique to mold/cast tiny articulation parts without distrotion...bad news is my latest molds got warped by a severe temperature change during the curing process and were warped... fortunately the slightly warped molds still give me torso fodder to modify for other projects (with some dremeling of the cast project that is...)

Any suggestions on these?

If you watch this movie and go into a Taco Bell, and say to the cashier, “I need some extra sauce packets” guess what? You’re getting twenty sauce packets because your face will punch him in the brain.

Wow... I wonder if my nephew wrote that reveiw...that sounds like things he and his friends say on a daily basis..

I plan to go see this, but not expecting a story...just violence...maim kill destroy...the fun things in life!
Besides, most the time I go see a movie expecting a good story these days I am disapointed...

I have me the following:
Bruce Campbell - At his book signing in portland
Bryan Fuller - On the set of Star Trek Voyager
Katie Sackhoff - (ok, I knew her because she lived across the street from my sister and her mom was my fifth grade teacher... so not sure if it counts as she was not a celebrity then...LOL)

I have to say Bryan Fuller is a great guy and really funny. I would say the conversations with him were the best part of my visit to the set of Voyager.

Excellent tutorials Ruprecht!

I think you pretty much have to order it directly from AVES, as I have never heard of any stores that carry the product.
AVES FIXIT SCULPT

Oh and a little bit goes a long ways. That and for those new to the product, keep in mind its a two part product, meaning you need equal amount of each combined together to activate, and you have a three hour time frame (roughly, it varies a little in my experience)
