Saga Collection '06 / Re: '06 Holiday Figure
« on: September 13, 2006, 04:05 PM »
I never buy the holiday figure.  They could make it a Jabba and Gardulla as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus 2 pack for $4.99 and I'd still leave it on the shelf.

Okay maybe I'd buy that one, but nothing short of that creativity and bargain.

i totally agree....

are they ever gonna be in stores or this entire line online only?

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Opinions on Infinities?
« on: September 13, 2006, 03:58 PM »
i hope they do prequels as well, but i gotta say the idea is great but i bought these, read them and returned them. in my opinion ANH & TESB essentially blaze past their own plots and become ROTJ,which when it came to it they just floundered and left us wanting more of that story line, like why diden't they start it at the end?

prequel infinities would be awesome, ......

TPM: i'd start with qui-gon dying on tattoine.

AOTC: i'd start with Obi-Wan joining Dooku to destroy the Sith.

ROTS: i'd start with Anakin attempting to kill Sidious, instead of chopping off maces arm.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Outbound Flight- Timothy Zahn

this was a great book, it seems the books are starting to just get better and better as they go. thrawn was just right, but c'baoth was just a bit over the top and a little bit too much like his clone. if anything else, i wouldn't mind a true back story on C'Baoth, like some kinda explaination of where he gets his ideas from. and why exactly all the jedi, even mace windu let him get his way. like i really would have liked to have seen his interactions with the jedi council. if his Palpatine meeting(lecture) was any kind of sign, it must have been insane.

i don't know how you guys do it, well i actually do. i used to get the vhs rehashs but only : 87,97,00. and 2000 was mainly because i diden't get widescreen in 97 and the boxes matched TPM. but they'd haft to practically remake half the films for me justfy the boxed set next year. or promise some kind of virtual reality format that can hook up with the set in like a couple years time....which would be pretty great....

i was 13 when these came out, so it was awesome to me because i'd pretty much grown up unknowing that anyone else liked starwars and i'd collected and played with the old figures my whole life and had gotten sidetracked on batman. so this was like a god send back then. it also kinda made the prospect of the prequels seem real. i still miss the ewok music at the end of jedi.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Who is okay with the Changes?
« on: September 13, 2006, 03:26 PM »
i almost became an againsit the changes person when the dvds first came out, but quickly realized it was a good thing when i found myself standing infront of a tv at Best Buy watching return of the jedi for the first time in a little under a year, which all starwars fans should know how strange it would be to go that long without watching any starwars films.

but i'm totally ok with the changes and would like to see certain things changed in the future, but as far as prequel edtions to the OT i've come to except hayden. but i think the line needs to be drawn there.

Personally, I'm a little pissed off that a "new kid on the block" would be sculpted before some of the classics like Jedi Knight. I've got other issues with this as well, but you all pretty much covered them. I also want to say, though, that for the time SOTE figures came out, they were just as cool, if not cooler than the POTF2 figures out at the time, so cut them a break, right? ;) I loved SOTE and at the time I loved the figures...most that I have are on display on a shelf now, but back when they came out I loved them. They also aren't too different from Hasbro's other POTF2 EU line which did very well in some places and sat on the pegs in others.

And furthermore, I did have stock in Hasbro for many years, but sold it a while ago as it basically just sat there and went down little by little. I haven't looked it up for a long time, but I don't think I'd buy in even if the Wall Street Journal thought it was a good idea.

i agree, but thats already happened scorch is farely new and hes already got a figure before all of the old eu stuff....and i still maintain i never saw one scorch in stores.

totally, san hill was included in the worst of the cinema scenes, i mean i already had like two dookus at that time and i got poggle by himself on ebay, and san hill just seemed like a waste of shipping, i'd be paying for the box. lol but defently atleast a repaint.

how can you label the other books as made-up, when its all really made-up? and lucas has massive control over the books. the only eu books that really seem made have to have been the banthem books, except the thrawn trilogy, the jedi academy trilogy and the hand of thrawn duo.
