Going to non-themed waves might very well go hand-in-hand with merging the Legacy & Legends  lines, which would probably be even worse for us collectors.  We could even end up with only 2-4 new sculpts per wave.

I also see their logic in movie themed waves while doing the BAD promo.  It'd have been too much for some dedicated PT or OT collectors to have buy a lot of other stuff for them to collect their droids, though since they already have PT droids in OT waves and vice versa, it really might not be that different I suppose.

The ladder and Luke pilot will almost certainly reappear later, though maybe not together.  Probably in the Legends line, maybe in a multipack.  The Trooper is a big yawn for me as I don't play games.  He look like something I'd expect to see in the early episodes of the Live Action series, as the transition continues between the ROTS CTs and ANH's STs.

well, with those extra sets I'll be getting I'll have several extras as you know...

I think I am already down for 2 of your extra R5's, let me know if you think you'll have more available.  :)

The cart is cool, and you do need a ton of Techs, but I need at least 4 of the R5's:  One for Red Leader's X-Wing, one for the Y-Wing it was in in the hangar, one for the bts shot of it on the Death Star, and one for my Darth Maul, cuz what other astro is he gonna use?  :D

Hasbro confirmed Captain Argyus in one of the Q&A's, or at least a Senate Commando.

I just want the accessories form this set. I don't want/need Jabba or the droid. Problem is, unless Hasbro rereleases this in a realistic set, I doubt I"ll be able to get just the accessories. And I'm sure as heck not going to eBay for it (at least initially) because it's likely that the bids will climb to half or more of what the whole set would cost anyway. I don't think the accessories are worth that much, IMO.

Since I just want the droid, all we need to do is find someone that just wants the Jabba and we're all set!

I'll admit that's pretty unlikely, however, since most people who'd want the Jabba would want the same dais pieces you want.

For those that missed it and haven't voted yet: Green R5 Skate Park CW Promo

EDIT:  This was posted here accidentally.  I intended to post this in anoth thread - sorry guys!  (but it is a cool spot.  The fact that the droid was rendered "realistically," apparently just for this spot makes me wonder what the series would have looked like if they would have tried to get away from the 'animated" look completely. )

I think they are deliberately gouging us with both the $8 basic figs and $25 bps.  The big spike in CW sales has reinforced the "movie year" mentality that we've seen before from Hasbro.  Once the sales are "opened up" by a big movie/media push that pulls in the non-collector, Hasbro cranks up the prices to best exploit their limited window of opportunity of selling to the non-core fan audience.  They know the CW rage will eventually die down, and that then they'll be left with us collector types.  That's the point when you'll see prices drop across the line.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but lower prices have generally happened at the same time as movie releases.  $4.99 ROTS figures in 2005 come to mind.

Honestly now that you say that I can't be sure.  I would have sworn that during some of the prequels prices were jacked up only to fall off after a period of time.  Didn't we see $7.99 figures once before?  During TPM, per chance?  Maybe the ROTS pricing was a reaction to slower sales from the previous prequels... Ugh I really can't remember now...

It'll be interesting to see if the Commando Droids in this BP are different from the basic figure release. They probably will be knowing them.

Actually I'm kind of curious to see if that Clone in the Commando Droid pack will actually the Commando Droid in Clone armor.  That would be something cool to do in that particular set.

That would be pretty sweet, but I doubt they even considered it.  :-\

Well, at least it looks like there's a extra clone helmet in there, which is something.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Hasbro Q&A Sessions

I got you now.

Perhaps the big delay had more to do with Walmart/Target not ordering figures due to surplus holiday stock they had to grind through instead of Hasbro being recalcitrant about producing new waves.  I suppose we'll never really know the answer (unless you can write a good Q&A question asking them!).

I guess the way you describe it it sounds even more confusing.  Are you saying that Hasbro should just randomly pack the cases in China and hope they come out in a decent assortment when they arrive on the store shelves 3 months later?  It seems like the wave variations at least allow them to keep track of what is going where, if they or the retailers really want to know.

If you just wish they could more quickly put a figure into circulation or take it out of circulation, there's not really any reason why they can't do that now.  In fact, they've said before that they've adjusted future assortments on how things are selling.  The main hook in the works, as I see it, is the delay between production, shipment by boat, and then warehousing, both by Hasbro and then by the retailer.  I imagine there's always a few months of figs "in the pipeline" that have to be dealt with before any changes could be made.
