I saw a boatload of these tonight actually.  I was surprised how many considering another Target I was at just last week had only one...  I'm not counting on clearance so I'll likely pick one or two more up but I was really shocked at how many were just lying around at the last Target I was at tonight.

Just found out from Darth Gamboa..that in Santa Clarita California Their Super WM just lowered all basic to just 5$..yes, $5.00 each!!!! Well, they had 10 full pegs of coruscant last week..he now says their half empty--go figure .

Yeah Jon, I can go figure on that one. :)

When Toys R Us did their sale here a few weeks back the stores had WALLS of figures.  Every TRU I went to had a healthy supply of the first 3 waves.  I went at the start of the week to see what I could find on the sale then knowing they were stocked pretty well.  I got a good dose of Hoth stuff for cheap at that store, but couldn't get around again till the end of the week...  I hit 3 TRU's the end of the week then, and all 3 were devoid of figures though 2 weeks prior they were all heavily stocked.

I'm amazed how stuff can really "sit" at $7-ish but at $5 you see stuff fly out the door, seriously.  It's a huge difference...  I hope WM's do this nationally and we see Target follow suit, and HOPEFULLY TRU gets the hint too.

KB and KM I expect nothing positive from of course.

My gf got her son the JTA battlepack...

I picked up a VTSC Scout and Sand Person for myself tonight.

Not much else on the pegs worth buying though...  Other VTSC but restraint got the better of me.

Holo Ki's definitely sitting here...  Tonight I saw a lot of:

-Bib Fortuna
-Bren Derlin (holy hell did I see a lot of him)
-Darth Vader (I'm sick of him...  He's the only figure I see at every retailer at this point.  From K-Mart to KB to TRU to WM to Target...  They all have a TSC Vader, and some have him in huge quantities)
-Poggle
-Riekean

These are the biggies...  I see a lot less Veers than I used to though.  He and Han/Leia from Carkoon are surprises to me that they're moving this well.

I see other stuff but it generally is selling as fast as it arrives...

VTSC is a rarity out here.  I saw my first sets tonight at retail at Target.  TRU/WM have no sign of them on the pegs, or even pegs/shelf space for them.

This has happened to me too, though I will say to Hasbro's defense that factory QA issues seem to be pretty in line...  Few flaws get out there to retail as compared with other lines.  I know I love to point out the military lines I collect for their great aspects, and they have a lot, but Quality Assurance isn't one of them.  There's definitely issues there sometimes...  Not that it's overwhelming, you just have to be picky of what you buy...  I'll get a deformed "short" foot, or 2 left hands...  It happens, so you have to just be cautious when purchasing.  Look over figures if there's more than one to get the best one.

Yeah I'm not too too bored here...  :)  I can use the break.  I found VTSC for the first time at retail tonight myself, and I was happy to not go nuts buying them...  I'm caught up on basics, so now I just need an extra here and there and am not compelled to go to stores as much.

The big score I keep hoping for is VTSC at a decent price ($9.99) at some point...  It's been a driving force to do any toy runs really here lately.

I like the break though.  It's letting me catch up financially to a bit of too many irons in the fire here the last 2 months.  I'm getting more crap done around my collection room(s) too, and house work that's needing my attention.  With my toy runs taking a minimum of 45 mins one way, that saves me time and money here with a slow down.  That's good for me.

If we're talking VTSC too, I'm gonna go with Han's trenchcoat.

The coat has working pockets for christ's sake!  How can you not love that?  That's incredible if you ask me, to come out of a mass production toy.

The Geonosian Weapons from Sun Fac are nice too...  I mean, Hasbro made a staff that doesn't need Viagara...  Where's the love for that right there?  I applaud them when they do it, because god knows they don't do that nearly often enough.

Lushros's console is a good one though...  It's simple overall, but it's the kind of thing you want more than one of.

I'm ok with being underwhelmed by accessories if the figures are great...  Unfortunately TSC's been somewhat of a letdown to me because figure quality isn't on the up and up as it should be.  It's a notch below 2005 overall I think...  Some hits, lots of corner-cutting though, and so the accessories stand out as not all being fantastic.  I mean, Derlin coming with the crappy sculpt of the Rebel Blaster from the POTJ Fleet Trooper, and NOTHING else, is kind of dull...  If you're not going to give the figure a little extra umph in articulation, then give him something special as a pack-in...  A cargo box perhaps, or *gasp* god forbid, the Sensor Screen from Riekean maybe?  But I guess if Riekean didn't even get that, Derlin wasn't about to.  :-\  Anyway the point is, they have it, it's "on-hand" to be made at their whim...  Sometimes that little extra value packed in at no major cost impact is enough to make the figure go from "eh" to "yeah!" pretty fast...  Not always, but sometimes.

I saw the new US Modern Paratroopers tonight.  Wow...  I passed because I'm short on cash really but wow...  Nice figures.  I also noticed I think new/repainted WW2 Paratroopers.  I saw an OMG BBI Paratrooper w/chute, which I don't recall from before...  It's cool looking.

I just hate the molded-on jump gear.  Why can't BBI do cloth straps or something so the jump gear comes off and you get a combat-ready Infantryman?   :-\  That's what I want...  My only complaint though with these figures, which is saying a ton about them.

17499
Throw behind them then that BBI "ups the anty" routinely, and 21st matches it...  I think SW is a lax line because there's nothing to say "hey, you can do better, look at this...." to Hasbro.  They figure they have a line that doesn't have to compete.  I disagree with that personally, and feel they are competing for dollars at retail with any other boy's toys line in the aisle...

But with the 1:18 military lines they're in direct competition for your dollar.  I buy both the major lines myself though. :)

The way these lines show what you can get for $5 to $8 though...  I saw the new modern infantry paratroopers tonight.  $8 you get a LOT of stuff on a SA figure, and a working parachute...  And sculpting that Hasbro is really miles behind on.  I usually applaud Hasbro's sculpting, they're not bad, but BBI shows how it's done IMO.  21st is more comparable to Hasbro though.  BBI is closer to real than anything in this scale though, and this from someone who finds the Hasbro and 21st sculpts to be perfectly fine.  BBI's just that much better.

I'm with HoloE for the most part...

I thought they lacked articulation dramatically, and they're priced similarly to SW figures.  To say they were poor sculpts is harsh I think, but they weren't great either...  They were just ok.

So, moderate sculpting, highly limited articulation, and pricing similar to the SW basic line which itself has tons of shortcomings...  Yeah, not my cup of tea.  I was hoping for good custom fodder but even that seems limited.  I saw a head or two I'd dig getting if on serious sale prices but that's it.

Uhura never did it for me, and was anyone else really sort of disturbed when she danced nekked in the one ST film?  You only saw her silouette, but something about that whole thing has really bugged me.

Godzilla by the description Dave, and definitely cool.  I had monster feet slippers too that growled when I stomped when I was a kid.  I think those are still around here. :)

I need that backpack of Yoda.  That's so funny.

Yeah Doug just gave me a ring the other night actually...  He's a good buddy of mine too.  I got to hang with him a good bit at Celebration 3 actually as we both worked the FFURG.com customizing booth, and we were there first Wednesday to set up early for the con...  He and I have an afinity towards custom vehicles, so we used to spend hours talking about our respective projects.  He's less active on FFURG than he used to be because of school and stuff, so I miss those talks.

Good to see you aboard SBB, a friend of Doug's is a friend of mine no doubt...  Glad to have you aboard.  Hope to see more of you Ohio-ans around.  I'm from Pittsburgh, not too far out...  Coming out to Columbus for the WSMI Tour...  I'm mostly interested in taking high-detail shots of the LFL models actually.  It'll help me with current and future projects.

Good to have you on man, you should drop a line in the new members area to say hi and intro yourself...  Give a clue on what all you're into with collecting and stuff.
