I'm gonna google Beauchamp now...  I can't remember if she's one of the many in this inspiring thread or not.

Toy Reviews / Re: New JD Review: Tarfful (Firing Bowcaster)

Indeed...  However, I still have to say I'm pretty disappointed with the execution of the figure.

He fills the general need, but a more poseable figure would've been great and should've happened.  Especially considering they actually had to go to the trouble of making the legs separate/new molds anyway...  It wasn't like having the knees twist and bend (aka ball/socket articulation) was going to cost them extra then, so it should've happened...

I could've given a positive review on this figure just on that one factor.  It's amazing how many figures actuallyc ome down to one small detail as to them being given a favorable or unfavorable rating actually.  Tarfful just fell into the category that went the wrong way unfortunately.   :-\

I'm gonna still hold out on the Imp. Commander Scott.  There's no black tuniced Officer yet to be made, and it's a shame.  They need those generic black uniformed guys from ANH pronto.  An ultimate army builder to me...  However...

If they released a new DST, super articulated, and included a kepi hat with him just like the 12" DST...  THAT would cover my desire for the Imp. Commander being resculpted in vintage form.

My girlfriend's kids have made me laugh several times just recently about Star Wars...

The first time almost brought a tear to my eye.  The kids got the Clone 3-pack at Wal-Mart, got it home, and realized they couldn't pose them.  They threw them down and decried, "These guys suck, you can't move them!", and their mother taped the packs up and took them back to the store.  It just reinforced every belief I've had about this hobby.

Then at ROTS as we left the theater they were just wound up beyond belief asking me everything and anything they could think of about Star Wars...  When their mother got them sabers they were outside playing with their friend smacking each other around with the sabers.  I gotta get them the electronic ones soon.

Then they were with me on a toy run once and asked me which figures I wanted and helped me look.  That just made me laught really, but it was nice nonetheless.

The latest one though was when I was looking at the Hoth Wave pictures down at my gf's house, the boys were over my shoulder looking...  The funny comments included:

-"That Clone in the snow suit sucks because you can't move him" (gotta love that).
-"I want that Boba Fett!"  (Fett could suck, they just want one irregardless of how poseable he is)
&
-"Why don't they make their knees move?" (regarding the Veers and Derlin figures I was sorts frustrated about).  The boys then went on to say "Well that's dumb of them". :)  Hah!

Oh yeah and they actually asked me why there was a Vader coming out when "Wal-Mart has so many of them already", haha.  Kids are more astute than people give them credit for sometimes.  And this was with NO coaxing on my part, they just offered these "opinions".  Had me laughing.

I'll take a Kiera Knightly or a Natalie Portman over a Pam Anderson any time of the day, any day of the week.

Could it also be that Pam Anderson's diseased? :)

She's hardly "curvey" though.  Her boobs are gigunda, but the rest of Anderson is stick thin...  I don't put her in a class of "voluptuous" at all.  Absurd perhaps, but not voluptuous really...  I guess I envision someone with hips actually matching that description.

Slothus has a point, but there is something to be said about a girl you can slide under the crack beneath your door so you don't get caught too.  Me, I'm the kind of guy that likes a sampler platter at restaurants, so I think that's just a good way to live life.

And I still don't get the Portman craze...  Not to say she isn't hot, but I guess she's just not in my top lists of everyone on Earth.   :-\

Joe, he's talking about the Entertainment Earth Clone 4-packs.  Search around and you'll find out what they are on Entertainment Earth's site.  We have a link on the front page of Jedi Defender if you're curious.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: A new Tatooine Luke in TSC?
« on: October 25, 2005, 06:01 AM »
I can't say 100% it ISN'T new, however when I took the image and messed with it in paintshop there's some lines that AREN'T articulation there, but rather are clear cut/paste lines and things like that.  Not to mention there's color variations, lack of shadows and evidence that supports articulation points and stuff...

I'm going with this NOT being new right now then based on what my eyes are telling me by enhancing the picture.

I agree a SA Luke's still needed though as that VOTC figure was a real pile...  Good super poseable bare arms though.  I saw someone graft them to an OTC Dagobah Luke and it rocked.  I wish they'd have given arms like that as one of the sets that Dagobah Luke had since 2 pre-posed sets kinda blows.

To me, the Reb. Commander vintage figure looked NOTHING like Derlin.  If anything, the first POTF2 Hoth Rebel Soldier was closer in looks/execution to the Vintage Reb Commander...  If we're comparing the figures anyway.

I'd say Derlin covers it though because I don't know what else the absence of the Reb. Commander on the list could be but Derlin...

On another note Scott, I'd say bump that Death Squad Commander up if you're basing him on his uniform.  I got the 365 Days of Star Wars book and I can now 100% say that the grey uniformed Death Star (Squad) Trooper did exist in the control pod during the Superlaser scenes...  There's a pic in that book as clear as day of that guy.  The book's a welath of pictures (My favorite is the Yavin briefing scene's picture.  Holy cow I want the dude with the porkchop sideburns that go into a mustache.  That's classic 70's).

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Random Question : Collection 2 Bases
« on: October 25, 2005, 05:51 AM »
The problem is that where they connect at that curved portion, they technically aren't actually connected...  Nor when they're "wall-to-wall" and have that back raised portion (like a little chunk of wall, I just call it the "back" of the base), as they're just resting against each other but not technically connected utilizing the tabs sculpted into it...

Had Hasbro made them so they just had those tabs on all 4 sides, that would've made sense so they could literally snap together in any form...  It'd be like this plastic stuff called "Sport Court" they use for things like Dek Hockey where the floor/surface is just plastic flooring that interlocks at all 4 sides perfectly with another piece...  I really don't get why Hasbro sculpted those bases so they're not able to connect on all 4 sides smoothly.  The lava and foliage bases are cool, especially if you could work them into a larger set-up so they blended nicely, but the tiling/deck plating surface is just kinda confusing the way they did it.  Too bad...  It would've been great to accumulate a ton of them and floor a diorama with it totally.  I wanted the bases that the Imp. Dignitaries came with to do that but they never used that base again for some unexplainable reason.

The irony is that they finally fixed the rectangular bases and they DO interlock fairly well (little loose/flimsy but they work).  You can really display with those nicely if you have the ones that interlock well together, however they leave gaps between the bases and have that big SW logo on it...  Do that with just that grid-work sculpted into it, like Deck plating or a Coruscant Street or something, and that's pretty damn cool.  I'd buy just those if they were offered up then.

He came here, for whatever reason, seemingly thinking he'd maybe fit in better than over at Scum...  How he'd figure that, I have no clue, but he's being dealt with swiftly here, thankfully.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Anyone know the Target DCPI #s?
« on: October 25, 2005, 01:37 AM »
On using DPCI's that have the buttons removed, on many (unless they're locked out) you can use the ear pieces of glasses or something fine-tipped to press the buttons too.  I've done this at a couple stores so another possible helpful tip to circumvent Target's **** blocks.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Random Question : Collection 2 Bases

Not really...

The AT-TE's Gunner's "Planet Base" that looks like grass and roots is easy to spread out and make a bigger display, but for whatever asinine reason, Hasbro made the base that looks like a ship's deck plating so that it can't connect end-to-end.  You can connect 2 or maybe 3 but that's it, and they don't connect in a real pattern.  Very stupid way to have sculpted these bases though if you ask me.
