Me too Brent, and pondering cancelling my order.  I've yet to see an Evo set at retail, and yet I still feel I'll see them at retail sooner than I'd get this half-assed order in from Amazon.com.

I hate etailing it...  Really I do.  :(

Toy Reviews / Re: New JD Review: AT-RT Driver

Thanks guys, and Evo's a distinct possibility.  We have some others on-tap right now, but I have the evolutions sets and we're just working through things as I get them done right now so keep your eyes peeled for those.

I agree that this is the figure that SHOULD have utilized the ball/socket hip like the TE Gunner has.  It's a major shame it didn't, but if you're careful I think getting him to ride the RT isn't too hard.  I have two AT-RT's and one with the driver figure on it now...  The other I just left its lame-ass pack-in on it.

I wish the pack-ins were better in general, but whatcha gonna do, ya know?   :-\

I like thinking of the RT Drivers as their own little clique of Clones, and not necessarilly being stuck on the RT mount, so I've got a nice squad on foot too.  They're great figures and I just need about 8 more to be "done" with these I think.

My favorite thing about Bly and Fellucia's nature was that concept of the "blob" that ate the Clonetrooper and spit out all the non-organic stuff like the armor and rifle.

If that thing had gotten into the movie I would've demanded a blob figure that utilized the infamous carpet-ruining slime stuff you could dump your Clones into.  I love that thing even as a drawing.

I put together one here and there on my own and turn it into the other guys (anyone can if they want) and I was working on one for JK (and would hopefully have one for the other games in the series and some other images from characters from the series out of books and such), but I've been having 0 luck with screencaptures in the JK game's cutscenes.  I'd rather pull from there than in-game images of the characters personally.

The Entertainment Earth Ewok packs and rant about Colman are the best posts in this thread. :)

Can't wait to jump on those EE Ewok packs.   ::)  Just the right price to really army build with.  I bet we see about as many pictures of those Ewok armies as we've seen of these supposedly "hot" Clone Trooper 4-pack armies too.  I haven't seen one yet that I can think of.  Mother ******.

Anyway...  So Hasbro, in 10 years of modern Star Wars you've only really put a lot of effort into the line in the last 3 years or so.  How does it feel to have basically wasted 66.6% or so of the time you've had with inferior quality on the shelves?  Do you (likely) consider ROTS the weakest line you've ever done while Saga was clearly your best work?  Or was the original 1995 group of figures your peak and it's been all downhill to you guys since then?

Toy Reviews / New JD Review: AT-RT Driver
« on: September 29, 2005, 02:01 AM »

What can I say about this guy that's negative?  Not a whole hell of a lot really.

I like it when Hasbro really wow's me, especially when they're able to do it overall with a single line they put out.  ROTS really is that line to me, as it's been more solid in quality than any other individual line within the modern Star Wars brand.

The AT-RT Driver (Missle Firing Rifle) is just another notch on Hasbro's belt as far as what they dished out in quality this year.  The figure was wrongly labeled as the Turbo Tank Driver for a while, then changed to the AT-RT Driver for whatever reason.  Not sure if this was Hasbro's faux pau, or if this is what the Juggernaught crews wore on Kashyyyk as well as the walker drivers.

Either way though we get what ammounts to a near-super articulated Clone again, and that's nothing to turn your nose at.  Good articulation, great accessories, nice paint, great sculpt...  He's everything an army builder should be in my opinion.

Read the review to seemy opinions on this one overall...  Very little negative I could muster about him.  Just got two more for a nice 4-man team tonight.  Still on the prowl to expand that to a minimum of 12 I think (squad sized I figure).  And congrats to Hasbro for another quality figure.

As always give me your thoughts and feelings on this one too, and stay tuned for more reviews as my review feature, "The Good...  The Bad...  & The Ugly" dishes out all the dirt.  This one though is definitely part of "The Good" though. :)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS Deluxe Clone 3-packs
« on: September 29, 2005, 01:14 AM »
I've been seeing all the colors fairly routinely around here.  What I find funny is that even the flying Clone is tough to find with reshipping compared to the Clone 3-packs.  I wanted a few more jetpack Clones but I passed because of no $$$ and the next time I was out they were gone...  Lots of the 3-packs (red mostly out of the colors but white has been most abundant overall, but I've seen green and blue pretty abundantly too) still around though.

Watto's Junk Yard / Screen Capture Software Help
« on: September 27, 2005, 04:24 AM »
This is a general request for help pertaining to "Screen Capture" software.

I'm needing to pull captures from video games on my PC, some from video/cutscenes, for general projects I have going.  I'm looking for a good screen capture software that can pull multiple images (rather than me having to dump from the game after taking one capture) and saves them in the program...

One that would pull from anything would be nice...  Like some of the cutscenes I've tried pulling screencaps from just using "printscreen" came out all digitized and wonky looking.  I don't know why (I was trying to pull captures from Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight, if you're familiar with these cutscenes that are live-action actors), but the images were not good at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...  I'm not familiar with this stuff at all really, I just know I need something that can take more than one screen capture and save them.  I'd really like to find something that served the purpose for now though so I could just get this stuff done, haha.

Thanks for any help! :)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS - #57 and beyond

Interesting point Ryan.

The "Commando" comes with what is basically a Wookiee Support gun like an E-Web is to an Imperial squad...  That's odd.  I figured a Wookiee Commando should come with a magnetic mine/charge and some kind of gun since that's basically what they seemed to do in the movie if that is what those Wookiee's were.

I'm glad they included the "support" weapon though with one of them.  It's a great accessory.  not sure it was in the movie at all but it's something I dig having more than one of since it looks very believable.

What do you say to the fans who you feel are overly critical of your "work" and "effort" on the Star Wars brand?

Also, what do you say to the people who applaud everything you do whether it's good, bad, or in-between?  Do you pay them to hang out on forums and websites to speak for you?  Do you wash your balls before they handle them or is that up to their own discretion?   :-X

So I caught this at another site...  It helps explain how any of you with a complaint on this are just so far off.  :)  Boy your signature really rings true Jesse...

The nostalgia factor is the biggest selling point going for this exlusive set. Factor in the fact that they were exclusives, fullfillment, and shipping, don't forget the display stand and pegs- the cost is more than fair for what you are getting. Obviously all these things are beyond what the newer collectors can comprehend but oh well- they will be gone when the next 'it' thing comes along.

Those that can get them for $7 are extremely lucky. I for one only saw them once and bought them for $30 without flinching.

Yeah, cardboard, flimsy packaging, some plastic pegs and 4 figures that mostly are re-used parts is more than fair for $30, right?  Oh yeah and I almost forgot "Shipping" and "Fulfillment", and that they're exclusives too.  Obviously $30 for 4 figures is fair...

Wait, but battlepacks are 5 figures with ornate packaging...   :-\  And hell, some of them were even new figures...   :-\  And they're exclusive, and to smaller retailers than Wal-Mart too...   :-\  Huh, how about that.

Can I kick you in the teeth then?  It's only fair since you've kicked ME in the balls so much!

By the way can I deliver a message to Entertainment Earth and Target via you, oh wise Hasbro Rep?
