Revenge of the Sith / Re: TRU 2-pks

I saw these for the first time tonight and saw about what you did Anton, though no TE Gunners.  He's still one of a few I've never seen on the pegs ever.

But anyway, yeah, those seem to be the same pairings out here.    Not bad if you waited on Jedi figures...

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Battle Packs (5 figure sets)
« on: July 13, 2005, 12:51 AM »
I want the Jedi Vs. Sith set and the 501st sets...  They're nice enough.

Those other ones though...  Blech.  It's a shame that sets that are aimed at keeping people's attention who otherwise would quit the hobby (or grabbing the attention of prospective new customers) have that one hook for the die-hards (the 501st set) which of course comes towards the tail-end of the line when things often have a chance of being tougher to find.

It would be the set people want the most of too, wouldn't it?

I ain't got a picture, but if you can get through Jessica Simpson's new video without any accidents you deserve a medal.

I'm not a fan, but pimply chin and all I'd hit it.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: VOTC and OTC Returns in 2006!

Amen Jesse...  People's wires are getting crossed, people's hopes are getting raised (or sunk), and it's just a mess of rumors in all directions at the moment.

On this one, let me chalk my opinion up that all the figures mentioned needed a resculpt, even Barada (to represent the vintage character, not the 3-pack figure) in my book.  Not a one would make a good re-release.  And as I recall, Bib Fortuna wasn't the hottest selling OTC figure in my neck of the woods.

Jared just hooked me up with a big pile of books, for free, and a couple Star Tours figures on the cheap too!  Thanks Jared, I really owe you one bud!

Other Toy Lines / Re: Terminator Toy Line... 4" Scale.

I thought he was a SWAT dude from near the end of the film...  Cool.  Hope for more resistance fighters then.

The likeness to Arnold's surprisingly close for a company without likeness rights.  He likely didn't give a huge **** about it I'd think.

Bummer he's not "clean".  I'd liked to have made a "General" from the Empire using Arnold's head. :)  Or an Alliance Commando...  Comeon, you know you want a Rebel Commando that's like Arnold!

Oh well...  Nice pics, and I hope this line continues...  I'd take quite a few more figures.

Can you give us an idea of the pairings you saw Anton?

Revenge of the Sith / Re: "Evolutions" assortment...
« on: July 10, 2005, 09:01 PM »
The Evolutions sets do indeed inspire many other ideas...  This Anakin set's fantastic.  I agree on the angle-cut elbows being a bit of a cop-out, but they appear to yield neutral and 2-handed saber poses so that's good...  The Vader's fantastic.

I still hold out hope for an Obi-Wan (however I want an all-prequal Obi-Wan set as oldi-wan is kinda dull) Evolutions set, a Rebel Trooper Evolutions set (Fleet Trooper, Hoth Trooper, Endor Trooper), and an Imperial Trooper set too (Stormtrooper, Snowtrooper, Scouttroooper).  That'd be just great...

This concept could be something really fantastic in the line though...  Lots of possibilities with it now that all 6 films are done.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: EP3 Clonetroopers
« on: July 10, 2005, 04:38 AM »
I have a hope for either a Clone Case or something...  But this wouldn't surprise me if we are seeing basically all there is...

I like the idea.  I like the green Commander (I'd like a Yellow, green, Red, Orange, and Blue variant of the CC myself, whether on-screen or not), and I like the idea of the red Coruscant Clones that seemed to be a personal-use legion...  All perfectly good ideas, but case assortments are a concern.

I hold hope for some case where these are plentiful and this case showing up in droves...  A Clone (all Clone) case would go a long way right now.

I like the #6 Clone enough...  I think #6 and #41 shipping in these legion colors would be neat though.  What I like for #6 is he can go prone while #41 really can't...  I see where you're coming from on it though as well Jared.  #41 is still my favored figure if I had to pick one over the other.

TV-9D9 / Re: Will the new TV shows make Star Wars weak?
« on: July 10, 2005, 03:11 AM »
I'm sort of hoping for a misleading little quote let out by McCallum there a short while ago and a series that either focuses on the continuing Jedi Purge/Empire's Rise/Alliance's Formation, or something that focuses on Rebe Pilots/War (IE: Rogue Squadron, the TV Series).

I'm completely willing to give the shows a chance though.  That's the main thing to keep in mind.  Live-action is less likely to be "kiddie focused", while cartoons tend to be a mixed bag.  Clone Wars was a real hit though and I have to say that my faith in what LFL CAN do is there.

Of course, all it takes is one Ewoks or Droids flashback to put me in my place as well...  Still, after Episode III, I really think Lucas has re-established some of his past abilities in my eyes.  I think he can really do SW on TV some justice.  The Young Indy series was well done too, that puts some weight in Lucas's corner.

I'm anxious to see what comes about...  It's all there is to look forward to short of books and whatnot.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Terminator Toy Line... 4" Scale.

Nice pics...

They all look great and spot-on accurate.  The Endoskeleton is my favorite and shall make the best customs fodder.  Hell, he's pretty much the perfect phase I Darktrooper base.  Just give him the cutting arm/shield and he's set pretty much.

The female arms will be fantastic fodder.  I hope the headgear (glasses and/or hats) are remoable.  That'd make the cop and Sarah Conner's heads useable for customs.

The T-1000 (is that his #?) looks great.  Amazing likeness to the actor that played him.  Right down to the Taxi Cab with the doors open ears.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Star Tours Wave 4
« on: July 10, 2005, 02:07 AM »
Wow, I was hoping this line had died too, or at least this wave, but I'll be compelled to have them now.

Sign me up for the list if they're out and about I guess.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Which Clone is Commander Bly?

Ah, yeah, that's right.  The one Clone is a Commander in yellow...  I think.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Which Clone is Commander Bly?

Hasbro could just make everyone happy are rerelease the Red commander with yellow paint.  Just a thought.  It can't be to difficult.  Eh, they will say get your own paint.

Could very easily happen, I agree.  I think it very well might someday too.  We all know Hasbro likes to get their mileage if they can...  With the OTC format coming back, it's a possibility.

For the record, I did some editing so that the Replied to title of the thread didn't read as, "Re: Evolutions Assortment" anymore.  That just was confusing.

Episode 1 / Re: Wave 2 accessory sets
« on: July 9, 2005, 12:20 AM »
Tattooine set had a couple black pistols in it I liked...  I think that was the set.  They're completely new sculpts and reminiscent of Han's DL-44.  They're different enough that they look nice with customs.  About their only worth though.

The tools the sets had were neat.  Odpening backpacks were fun even if the shoulder straps sucked.
