Verrrrry interesting Jared...  That is smart.  The question then will be whether or not Retail orders enough.  Even at $20 I somehow don't see these sets lasting long...  Not the Clone ones anyway.

I wonder how you power it?  Is it anything like Mr. Garrison's bike from SouthPark perhaps?   :-X

Man I had withdrawal.  Glad to be back, and I think everyone should applaud Chris because I hear he worked his ass off to get things back on track.

And of course if you find a bug I suppose report it somewhere, but beyond that we're running and it feels good to be in here...

I lurked Scum in the downtime, and popping in to read just made me realize why I don't post, to be perfectly blunt.

Sucked not having a home...  Got some work done on my Vintage display case though, so I guess that was productive in its own way.

Nice Review Brad...  You make me wanna pick this up actually.  I stood looking at one at TRU the other night just thinking about what you'd said.

I'm pondering picking it up and replacing the pack-in with my Preview Greivous or something.  My problem right now is space, but the vehicle is to-scale and that's my current criteria for picking things up.  Seems well made, with lots of features that are likeable while no real bungling to make it a more appealing toy to kids...  Or at least nothign that was detrimental.

I'm gonna have to get this I think...  This and a couple more AT-RT's.  ;)

Toy Reviews / Re: New JD Review: Wookiee Warrior (Sneak Preview)
« on: June 18, 2005, 12:11 AM »
Thanks guys...

The Wookiee Preview is probably one of my favorite figures in the modern line.  I'm still a little miffed at the "scale".  That to me is more an issue than anything.  I too accept the paintjob because I think it looks fine enough...  I just know it's a major gripe among collectors.

The Preview Wook is so vastly superior to the basic line figure though...  It's amazing these two are from the same company really.  The Preview figure is almost perfect quality while the ROTS basic one looks like a give-away promo figure in a happy meal.  :(

I have 15 Previews, and I'd take another 10 - 15 like I've said...  I'd love some paint/head variants downt he road, though an all-new "in-between" scaled one, but done exactly the same as far as articulation and whatnot, that would win me over bigtime.  Sculpt him a little different, but not dramatically...  No features, just articulate him greatly...  And of coures paint variations.

I'd take a lot of that figure if done right!

It's funny how, without even a really broad fan-base beyond us hardcore people, that the Preview Wookiee seemingly has outsold ( substantially) the ROTS basic Wookiee.  That to me is pretty solid proof that quality wins out...  It's a noticeably MORE popular figure, and many found it at even a higher price point, and it still seems to have outsold the crappy basic Wookiee.  That's pretty telling if you ask me.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Target Exclusive Clone Trooper
« on: June 18, 2005, 12:06 AM »
Right now I don't know of a definitive listing of pictures/descriptions of the Clones.  It's mostly people pulling images from various sources to prove a point (hehe).

Browse Clone Customs threads in the customizing areas though because they're where I'm seeing a LOT of clone pictures for the first time.  The customizers go nuts for the most obscure images/reference pictures. :)  Clones have been no different in that niche of the hobby, that's for sure.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: What figures are hard to find now?
« on: June 18, 2005, 12:03 AM »
It's funny but around here the only Clone that sat besides the Pilot was the Commander.  And he sat for all of a couple weeks before he was gone once again.

Right now, stores are fairly dry in my area...  TRU took their large display down and where the remainder stuff went I don't know (sold?  In the back?)...

#6 is gone...  #41 I've seen once, never saw it again...  Clone Pilots are even starting to dwindle as general stock is depleting, though they're still easily found (just noticeably less of them).

I haven't seen the Senators wave yet, and really only heard one mention of it from local guys.  Kinda bummed there.

I STILL can't find a Vader Medical Droid.  That's just funny.

Beyond that, Anakin's and Obi-Wan's are almost extinct...   Collection 2 Jedi are sparse, and the selection varies by store.  One store you won't find a Ki-Adi, but they'll have the girls...  Another store you won't find an Aylya, or Luminara, but they have Agen Kolar and Ki Adi...  The only constants I'm noticing are Shaak Ti, Plo Koon, and Saesee Tinn.  All the others are hit and miss, with Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, Ki-Adi, and Aylya being the hottest of the Collection 2 Jedi.

Count Dooku's are rarely seen...  Same with 3PO...

Chancellor Palpatine, Mas Ameda, R2's, Mon Mothma, SBD's, and surprisingly to me Chewbacca and Tarful, are all easy to find...  As are the Wookiee Warrior #2 and Neimodian Gunner.

I'm just sorta surprised by a lot of the diversity in what sells and what does not except for the Clones. That I wholely expected...  The popularity of the film is what fueled the popularity of the line, coupled with an actually impressively made toy line that didn't feel "cheap" (from the packaging to the figures).  This has been a fun line to watch, at least in its earliest forms.

I'm curious to see how the line's carried forward now.  If they think they've hooked enough lifers to keep the current "trend" the norm, or if Hasbro's going to readily go back to a collector focus...  Should be interesting to watch.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: How big is your army?
« on: June 17, 2005, 11:51 PM »
I would Anton, but separately (red/cream), but yeah...  I don't think I'm going to buy a single ROTS Battledroid so I'm going to only count E1 - E2 droids for my army (and any in-betweens as well).

Short of a removable helmet and a mad increase in ball/socket joints (for true super articulation), I think the Clone Pilot's actually a vastly superior figure to a lot of "troopers" we've seen lately...

Saga Hoth Trooper would be the biggest stinker in a LONG time, and reigning champ for worst army builder in the modern line (rivaled only by the POTF2 RFT really IMO).

The Saga/OTC TIE Pilot though, for instance, is an overall inferior figure to the Clone Pilot I think...  The one arm only articulation, the articulated arm being sorta minimal poseability...  I like the figure, don't get me wrong, but to me the Clone Pilot is miles above the TIE Pilot just because he's sporting enough articulation for multiple great poses, while the TIE Pilot's kind of limited.

I feel the Saga Clone Pilot's inferior to the ROTS Clone Pilot also.  The goofy stance kills the Saga Clone Pilot, not to mention a complete lack of articulation (at least "useful" articulation).  Blah.

I will say though, I agree wholehearted that a removable helmet Clone would've been great.  It could've been done, and I'd take that over the odd laser tower accessory and whatever the hell that black thing he came with was...  The pistol made sense, that other stuff just seemed odd...  If he'd had the removable helmet AND that other stuff though, then that's just gravy!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS Deluxe Clone 3-pack
« on: June 17, 2005, 11:40 PM »
But these things are c-r-a-p crap.

I tend to agree wholeheartedly with this.  Gimme a 3-pack of #6 or #41...  At this point though, the 3-pack figures are just sad to compare with the basic figs.  The color variations aren't even nice looking (and that's beyond the poor sculpts and poor detailing through paint aps).  So they're a letdown to me, but they always were so I'm just not looking too hard for those...

A 3-pack of #6 though I'd certainly love...  or #41.  I've seen #41 figures one time in stores, TE Gunners never, and #6 right up till Episode 3 hit...  Now he's just as rough to find.  Hell, even the Clone Pilots are dwindling like I figured...  Commanders were abundant for about 2 weeks but now they're all gone as well.  The power of Clone sales is downright scary.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: ROTS Deleted Scenes
« on: June 14, 2005, 12:32 AM »
Depending how the Shaak Ti scene would play out, i think it could fit in prior to the Jedi getting into the Turbo lift (after they leave the hangar).

I don't know how exactly the scene plays out though...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The King of Pop...
« on: June 14, 2005, 12:18 AM »
I was discussing this with my mother tonight...  The way I see it, it was a lot of "he said, she said" kind of stuff...  Both sides of the court bringing out witnesses and such that implicate the other side as being wrong, but nothing that was solid or concrete enough for the jury to look at it without reasonable doubt...

So I think the jury just assumes he'll "pay" in a Civil Suit instead...

This was just a feeling I have, no real reason for it other than I look at Michael and wouldn't let my kids near him...  I think he's guilty, part of me thinks the Jury thinks he's guilty but felt the weight of what they were deciding and felt he'll just have to pay out in Civil Court...

It's over, it wasn't overly interesting...  Michael's still a freak, but ya gotta admit that Billie Jean and Thriller are some great songs.
