The edited footage is still "film" though...  If it's included in a DVD, one could make that argument that it's as much canon then...  It's Lucas made, Lucas controlled...

I lean towards neither side on the issue right now other than none of the edited stuff bugs me (I'd not mind it being reinserted into a future DVD).

As far as if this will bite us in the ass...  I don't know that it will.

I more fear the EE 4-packs being of greater detriment to army building.  I think there was genuine sentiment that this Target figure would be considered "obscure" enough that people wouldn't go ga-ga to army build it as much...  They don't know their audience inside out is what I've learned.

The EE sets were more a straight forward kick to the nuts in my view...  Army building with them was cost prohibitive (as it is with the Target Clone).  I honestly don't know people who've built a nice army of SA Clones using those EE sets...  Most just got a set of all 4 of the 4-packs, or people went in on cases with people to make the cost just around retail.  Nobody went ape **** and built 100+ figure armies (that I'm aware of).

The Target Clone is the same...  I got a handful from a friend...  The Target Clone didn't fly off the pegs here either.  The reshipment actually sat and slowly dwindled.  I think people just picked some up here and there, and Scalpers (I know when I go to the Toy Show next month that I'm gonna see these for like $25 a figure) bought what they could...

It could've been that a reshipment happened that I saw these sorta stagnate at one point though...  I wouldn't say they pegwarmed by any stretch though...  We'll see how this pans out.  Exclusives always have sorta stung in the price department though...  And they don't tend to sit.  Even the figures that seemed to get a pretty hefty production run like Silver R2's didn't exactly shelf warm and it was costly to get that figure (especially if you bought it outright).

I don't mean to justify the Target Clone...  To me it's as bad an idea for an exclusive as they've had, but I don't think it's gonna mean $15/figure army builders are in our future now, and that Hasbro is going to go out of their way (any more than they already have) to make annoying exclusives at high prices.  This really was the status quo since way back.

The clone pilot is probably the worst trooper type figure that has come out in a long time.

The sculpt's great...  It's really dead-on accurate.  The helmet would be nice if it were removable (I'd take that over the laser tower, though the tower's neat itself), but I don't think that was the kind of thing that was making or breaking the Clone Pilot's popularity.

Pilots just don't have the huge appeal that "troops" do I think.  The figure's good, and I think you'll see the Clone Pilots dissipate over time...  He just fell prey to the pilot curse where they're fun figures but sell slightly slower than a basic Clone will.  The TIE Pilot resculpt was the same way, as was Gold Leader, and the AOTC Clone Pilot (which I even think was a rather poor army builder overall).  He'll sell though, just slowly. 

I'm already noticing them slowly trickling away, but still easy to find right now.

For those interested, in (I think) the original NOTLD, if you listen to the Radio or it's maybe listed on the TV (again I am forgetting specifics here), they list Leechburg and Gilpin VFD's as safe places.

Both are my local fire departments...  Gilpin is on my road.  It's a nice little nod to my area.

The mall where our Toy Show is held (it's in an Expo center that sits in front of the mall actually) is where Dawn was filmed...  The mall's not terribly different from when the film was made (though the ice rink's long gone, as are most of the store names, though Penney's is exactly where it was then), and fun to walk through if you recall the movie.  That's one of my regular toy runs actually.

Our normals for this time of year are like the mid to high 70's, some low 70's...  We've been in the high 80's and ungodly humid with scattered storms for a long time now.  This blows since A) I hate the heat, and B) I hate humidity even more.

I have too much Scottish/Irish blood in my veins because I like cooler weather and rain...  Falling at a nice slant even.

I went to the Pittsburgh Rib & Music Festival tonight (MMmmmmm) and holy HELL was it uncomfortable at times...  Right when we got there it was sorta ok because there was a light rain and a breeze down the rivers, but after the rain passed and all those sweaty mullet-clad guys started to work that funk up...  Look out!

Good ribs though, good booze, and Deep Purple playing was nice too.

I started with vintage in the late 80's/early 90's...  I'm in this for the long-haul.  If the line goes till I'm 60 or if I go before, then that's the way it is...  or till I'm 70, or 80, or 90... 

If they changed scale though, I'd likely quit.  I wouldn't support a wholely different toy line I think...  Or if the line was completely "animated" style figures (just throwing out obscure hypotheticals), I'd hang it up.

If another company took over the license just after it reached its maturity with Hasbro, and said company made 3.75" realstic sculpted figures, I'd probably just move over to that company's stuff...  Unless it was utter crap.

I've never really had a problem finding women who can "stand" the hobby at the very least...  So that's not really an issue.  Financially, it'd take something pretty bad for me to make me quit...  I'm in it for a the future as I see it.

I liked the feet cables a lot too.  I'm still think the wheels suck though.  A little dull, they don't roll fantastically well anyway, and they make him sort of tilt...  I could do without them.

I think Hasbro was intending a good thing there...  It's extra work after all.  I just think it's something they could've left off and the figure would've actually been a little better.  Kinda like the probisces on Dannik Jerriko's face...  Something done with good intent, but which turned out to hurt the figure.

I can't think of too many figures I'd want that actually rolled....  Well, a mousedroid that was maybe to-scale woudl be nice, if it rolled, but that's about it.
