Good images coming in...  Tripper's missing it right now.  :)  The spirit one's just incredible.  Easily the winner right now I think.

Toy Reviews / Re: JD Review: SA Clone Trooper
« on: October 15, 2004, 03:12 PM »
I'm glad I helped in a way.  The VOTC and any other SA figure like the Clone here are the kinda toys that shouldn't ever collect dust.

My military figures are constantly getting pulled down with their diorama buildings, and I'm rearranging them, posing them, setting things up...

Dammit I'm playing with them ok?  Fine.  I said it...

:)

Besides seeing some articulation in the elbow (ball/socket woudl've been great and made this figure so near perfect that I'd rank it close to VOTC quality), I was disappointed in one thing...

The weapons were SMUSHED in the figure's hands, and this caused some warping of the plastic.  The rubber bands holding them in place really trashed their appearance when you opened the figure up.

I'm pretty PO'd about that because it simply should never happen.  It's a pissy QC issue Hasbro overlooked.  I'd sooner Hasbro packaged weapons in slots in the tray than in the figure's hands.  It all too often warps or deforms the weapon due to Hasbro's cheapness in its plastics it uses.

If you're gonna cop-out on good plastic, than pack the weapons in a specific tray for them instead of banding them to the hands.

I never in a million years would've pictured you accurately Stormtripper.

Look like a bouncer at a biker bar...  If the strike doesn't go well, you've got jobs lined up I imagine, simply kicking people's asses.

Thanks Jared...

It's worth a try I figure.  A Target near me got VOTC ROTJ in just last night when I went to ANOTHER Target instead...  So I figure I can at least give it a go.

Underneath I'd assume, or snapped into the droid's body. that's part of the ship, but I'd assume it's screwed in by the design of it.

Jeff, you forgot...

21) Han Solo (Peg Clogger)
&
22) Han Solo (Shoved up your pooper by Hasbro)

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: "Transition" figures. You buying?
« on: October 15, 2004, 12:53 AM »
If Sandie's come in flavors, I'll consider it, but I'm pretty set on them personally...

Beyond that, it's more the same...  The Han is just astounding.  I feel like someone punched me in the stomach.

I swear to god, there's a WM near me that has that Han Solo on 3 different cards.  :)  I'm just astonished.  If I could, I'd take the guy that said to repack that thing again, grab him by the throat, and make him look at that peg of Han's at my one WM.  I mean...  Seriously, go to a store ya morons, go to a god damned store.

Oh yeah, and actually look while you're there.

I could use the ROTJ VOTC DPC's myself...  Or Endor wave.   :-\

I'm not even THINKING about the future stuff.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: VOTC/OTC Purchases
« on: October 15, 2004, 12:50 AM »
I can't say I need a LOT, but what I need I'm a bit concerned over...  More than I have been in a while, and likely because it's some of the highest quality product Hasbro has ever put out...

For the VOTC I still need 2 CHewie's, my 3PO, R2, and 3 Stormtroopers...  Then I'll be at my set goal.

For OTC I need a Gam Guard, Madines, and I'd take Han AT-ST's if I could find them as well as an extra Lando.  I've never seen that wave, in any incarnation, at a store so far.  Only gotten them via trades or through friends and on the Saga cards.  My Madine broke while reviewing it so I'm desperate to replace him...

Beyond that then, I'd be "caught up" and would buy more VOTC STormies if I saw them and had the extra $ I was sure.  Then it's onto the Transition figures.

The POTF2 Y-Wing's got a droid dome screwed into it.  There's some reworking of the mold itself, so it's not really a removable piece as I recall of mine...

It's more a solid piece.

Only one season being blamed for a spiral that rivals that of a flushing toilet? :)  I think that's lenient.

The Original Trilogy / Re: ROTJ Sound Funny?
« on: October 14, 2004, 03:54 AM »
Wow Jared, I didn't even notice a reply to this so I apologize for my obviously delayed response, haha.  :)  I'd given up on this thread.

Well, your words are a bit over my head...  I plug a TV in and let 'er rip more or less...  haha

Yeah, not exactly techno savy here.

I know I don't have surround sound, so I can tell you that much.  My TV's actually  not even got the red, white, and yellow ports most TV's have nowadays...  It's that old.  It's kickin' though so I just don't get anything new till this one works no more.  I'm assuming then that my TV has the latter.

I watched ROTJ at my girlfriend's house though, which renders that moot I guess, and her TV's big but I don't believe it has surround sound either...  She just has what the set has.

The problem we noticed was dialogue not always matching character's lips...  Or things seeming very "soft" at times.  One sound louder than another and such...

Perhaps it is time I lept into the 20th Century (only one behind isn't so bad) and got surround sound for my mini TV I got going? :)
