The Legacy Collection / Re: 2008/2009 Evolutions Sets

Plus, if you're like me, you don't have one shorter than an hour away ;).

That close?  Lucky you.

I have no idea where the nearest K-Mart is to Dallas, but it's a long way.

There's one in Longview and one in Killeen.   ;)

I was sorely tempted by this one, but space and money constraints held me back.  I'll probably regret not getting it down the road, but those figs are just too expensive.

I would have loved to take him back to the store but they were on clearance and I snagged the last one.  Hasbro did acknowledge that the Leia figure was not a 'fair' substitute for IG-88 and I reluctantly settled for a Legends clone trooper.

Wait, so you got a free Leia and a free Clone Trooper for something you bought on clearance?

Anyone interested in this tasty nugget?  It's just taking up space in my basement, so I'd love to give it a new home if anyone wants to trade for it or but it...

Sucks to see the Vikings advance after such an awulf showing.  I hope the Bears can catch them and take the division at this point.   :P
what was so awful with that?  The Vikes pretty much dominated the 2nd half and are looking like a surefire playoff team.  Stop the run and run the ball  = playoff success

Yeah, "dominating" with nothing but the run on a winless team in what may be the worst division in the NFL.  A 20-16 victory over the hapless Lions is not very convincing IMO.  If the Refs hadn't arbitrarily reversed that Calvin Johnson catch in the 4th quarter, the vikes would have been fighting for a tie at best and could easily have been the first team to lose to the silver and baby blue.  I give them no chance to advance in the playoffs, especially if the Williams Wall is on suspension.

Hall of Justice / DC Universe Classics

Just FYI that the 3packs of little DC Infinity figures are marked down to $13 at Target this week.  Still not a great deal for 3 figs, but way better than the $17 regular price.

Should be lower, but I'll guess the prices will be about the same as you were paying for ML in the early days.  Granted things have changed quite a bit, but the price being the same would be hard to take.

And yeah, I'll admit to being tempted as I love me some Marvel.  But I'd guess I have maybe 100+ in the larger scale and if I could get anything for them, I'd happily part with them for the smaller scale, but it's not worth the effort.  We're seeing so little in the way of stores stocking stuff up here.  The FFF wave did actually show up just this week, but not all of them.  And they are now at $19.99 per (reasonable relative to the US pricepoint, but not reasonable relative to what I want - though actually seeing that FFF head up close -  :o) so not going to happen.  I did get to see the She-Hulk figure from that wave too and I was more impressed than I expected to be.

$20 a figure?  Even in Canadian money that's ridiculous.  My Target has lowered the price of Legends down to $9.99 instead of $14.99.  I picked up a Spiral if anyone is looking for a Red Hulk head.

Congratulations Chris!  Now get ready to go bald worrying about a daughter the rest of your life. :P

Seriously - my daughter is already pretending to talk to boys on her play telephone at the ripe age of 2.  Nevertheless, congratulations on the new ball of Joy Chris!

The Legacy Collection / Re: Legacy Collection Comic Packs

Wave 4
1x Legacy #2 with Darth Talon and Cade Skywalker
1x Shadows of the Empire #5 with Princess Leia and Prince Xizor
1x Heir to the Empire #1 with Grand Admiral Thrawn and Talon Karrde
1x Infinities ROTJ #3/4 with Darth Vader (White) and Princess Leia (Sniper)
2x Dark Empire II #1 with Clone Emperor and Luke Skywalker
2x Republic #82 with Commander Faie and Quinlan Vos

I found this case at Toys R Us this evening.  Only one Clone Emperor left, but that is definitely a sweet pack!  My only complaint is a cloth robe for Emperor and a plastic robe for Luke - looks silly to me in the same package.  They should have stuck with one or the other for both.  The Vos set is nice too.  I don't like the deco on Faie, but Vos is well detailed (straight legs though).   ::)

Well I just barely surived this week.  Has anyone else had a game this close in '08?

Remy's Raiders          49.93
Zissou Mightyl Muggs 49.46

If I can win one more, I think I'm in the playoffs since either the Cranes or Isotopes are going to lose.  For teams that finish with similar records, is the tie-breaker head to head or total points?

I'm sure that they'll plead it down to something where he does no time.

I'm not so sure about that.  Did you hear the quotes from the Mayor?  He basically said there is a mandatory jail sentence for this crime and asked what we would be teaching our kids if we dished out something less than this for someone just because he's famous.  When the mayor singles you out as someone to make an example of I think you're going to do jail time, but we'll see.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Does Hasbro replace broken figures?

I think if it's something you recently bought, you should take it back to the retailer and complain that it broke.  That's less hassle and they'll probably take care of you to make sure you keep shopping at that store.  If it's something you've had for a while and it broke, you can try Hasbro, but if it's been played with and broke, I don't see that as their fault.  This stuff just isn't as durable as our vintage figs.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Do You "Collect 'Em All"?
« on: December 3, 2008, 10:58 PM »
I gave up getting "everything" way back when the POTC figures launched.  Mostly repacks of stuff that had just come out a year before was an obvious ploy to get more money out of completists and I'm glad I decided to walk way way back then.  I have bought some of the Legends repacks, but mainly just stick to the "new" stuff these days.  Of course, I buy most of the carded figs 1x carded and 1x loose, so I probably end up spending way more than anyone who buys 1x of everything.   :P
