The Legacy Collection / Re: The Return of Saga Legends

How about some link love for the site that originally posted the images?  POTF2.COM Forums.

Well technically he found them on RS and when you go to RS, they reference POTF2.com, so I think we're all legally covered.   ;)

I'm pretty happy with previous releases of all of these.  I'd much rather see mini connectible playsets than any new beasts/creatures.

I'm not saying I'm unhappy with articulation in the basic line - I definitely think they've upped their standards in the last year.  Just not sure how many of them would qualify as SUPER articulated as the previous posters were commenting.  I am hoping we see the newer comic pack figs on par with basic fig mobility.

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: May 19, 2008, 12:21 AM »
Okay, recently got a few new Avengers customs from a guy on Fwoosh named Flobbo.  They are too awesome not to share, so enjoy...

First up is Tigrrrrrra.  No, that is not a stripper pole in the last shot - its part of my Detolf Cabinet. No really!

Next is Mockingbird.  I am a big Hawkeye fan, and you can't have the Hawk without the Bird.  In an unrelated story, I'm also a Badgers fan, so I like to give the bird to the Hawkeyes.

The last one is Kate Bishop (AKA Hawkeye II) from the Young Avengers.  Got a custom Stature, so I needed Kate to finish off the team.  I got this one from Flobbo as well, but its almost a year old now.

And here they are mixed in with my Avengers diorama.  While not Flobboriginals, be on the lookout for custom Starfox, Black Knight, Diamondback, Scarlet Witch, Spiderwoman, and Stature.

Totals so far
January - $180
February - $130
March - $495
April - $99
May - $228

YTD - $1132  :o :o :o :o :o

Does this total even include the Joe Mauers?  ;)

I'm betting no Mauers are in there.  And since he's getting $2.50 figures and using the $5.00 coupons, that's over 500 figures!    :o

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: JD Book Club: What Are You Reading Now?
« on: May 18, 2008, 11:56 AM »
I just burned through this one in three hours today. I read it several times as a kid but I wanted to reread it before I see the film.

Three hours!?  How many pages is this?  I read this series like 20 years ago, but they sure seemed like longer stories back then...Or maybe you're just a speed reader!  ;)

Congratulations Chris - there is nothing like it.  Try to not show them any of the SW movies until they're at least 6 months old.   ;)

Vintage Kenner / Re: The Vintage Star Wars Card Offer Grid
« on: May 18, 2008, 11:38 AM »
Hey folks.  I just wanted to let you all know about a little feature that we've worked on at ToyTraderz that I think you'll all like.  It's the Vintage Star Wars Card Offer Grid...basically a big grid of each figure and each card offer that it might come on.

I have a Hoth Luke with Ackbar offer - where do we send them in?

Also, I have a Leia as Boussh Rotj Card with an offer that is not in your grid.  Is a blue circle sticker with yellow border and just reads "Return of the Jedi Figure Offer" with no picture.  Says the same thing below it in another language, but its not a tri-logo card.  On the back, offer is for Nein Nunb.  I can take photos of both and send them in if you want them.   ;)

In a comic pack? I doubt it. :P

I think few figures outside of the vintage line are "Super" articulated, but the comic pack figures have been pretty good lof late.  I was very happy with Quinlan Vos & A'Sharad Hett.  While not always the case, I think they tend to do a better job if the figure is brand new.  I also expect to see better quality now that the price of the line has gone up.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2008 Target Order 66 2-Packs
« on: May 18, 2008, 11:03 AM »
I think the thinking is that Pixar's Cars did well at retail so why wouldn't Speed Racer? Kids like cars.

I think Mike's point is - do they really need two endcaps and a main aisle location for Speed Racer Cars?  Maybe the little hotwheel thinks will sell, but I don't see any movement on the Speed Racer Car/Figures, whereas the Iron Man Displays are completely cleaned out.  I would have bet big money on Iron Man being way more popular than Speed Racer prior to their release - this should not have been such a surprise to retailers.

Back on topic, my local target has the Order 66 sets (what's left of them) off the front displays and flexed into the main aisle.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Transformers

I also hope they get around to making a transformable stoplight like they had on the Cybertron toon.

Well now that's just ridiculous.  You'd be proud of me Mikey - I missed the Friday meeting to help out at a Mothers of Multiples sale, and low and behold - they had a toy section.  Lots of transformers stuff, so I picked up a Megatron (armada?) Tank to add to the ranks for $2.  His tank mode is lamer than I thought, but surprised by the cool electronics.  ;D

Another wow episode with an awesome ending. This season is moving at a great pace.

Anyone know when this will be up for viewing on scifi.com?  I thought they were usually ready to go by Saturday afternoon following a new episode, but no sign of the new episode yet.  Bummer for those of us that don't get the scifi channel.   :P

Hulu.com usually has the episode by Saturday morning. Broadcast quality.

Hulu didn't have it yet either, but I managed to snag it by searching around google a bit.   ;D
