The Legacy Collection / Re: Disney Jedi Academy 5-Pack

I only want the set for Vader.  j/k...I might like to get one, but I'm not bending over backwards and I won't loose sleep if I don't get it.

I would be willing to bend over backwards and loose as much as 3 hours of sleep to get one.   ;)

Wow, those are some great additions Jay!  The Snags looks very minty and nice to see the matching torso and limbs.  I Din't remember the wind up artoo from my childhood - was this a foreign release?

How much were these when Tak/Tomy had them?  Is $16.99 a fair price?

SWShop is selling the Japanese versions for $20-$25 plus shipping, so $17 for these current versions at Target is a "fair" price.  Not "cheap" by any means, but cheaper than the original RotS/30AC Japanese versions.

Even on sale at SWShop I don't think they got below $15.  They are definitely cool and I'm not returning mine, but I couldn't help but feel a wee bit screwed paying over $70 for four little packages.

And don't even think about quoting that - the OOC thread is closed.   ;D

So how do you upload images from your computer?  I have never figured that one out.

I actually just use photobucket.com/.  It's quick registration and uploads photos in seconds

Takes me about 4-6 hours on dial-up which is completely insane, but I have high speed at work so it balances out I guess.  Justin - you need MP Magnus and some tall stacks for your Prime...Talk to Jay - he *might* still have an extra set, but I'm not sure.

Just a set of tall stacks?  Was this an upgrade kit or something?

Why is the out of context forum closed again, presumably by Scott?   ???  He left a cryptic message, but I think he intended to say...

I kept trying to figure out why my left elbow was hurting this afternoon and then I started playing again ...

If you're going to shut down a thread (again), particulary one that survived for 31 pages, it would be nice to have some explanation as to why its being closed.

I actually just use photobucket.com/.  It's quick registration and uploads photos in seconds, let's you manage albums, etc.  They provide a quick link for posting in threads, so it makes it pretty quick to get a pic from your PC into the forums.

How many vintage DS playsets do you have?

Just the three.  My mom sold my original, but I reacquired these three when I came up with the concept for a massive DS diorama.

The Falcon and Death Star are simply amazing.  This is some awesome customizing, but great photgraphy as well.  Are these all pretty much inventions that have come from plot points in your photnovels or just various concepts you thought up?  Scenes like that Rebel Outpost are really genius.  Thanks for sharing!

Like Paul said, there will most likely be changes to the Sarlaac Pit.

Instead of a hole in a ground with tentacles, it will now have a digital beak edited into it.  ;)

HAHAha!  Now THAT was funny.   ;D

Nice additions!  I'm still trying to track down a brown snake of my own.  That Imperial Transport looks cherry - these are really great additions to your vintage stash CH!  Thanks for sharing the pics...

Lots of options today, but in the end I decided this was my favorite...

Eleven seconds is a long time when you're an armored guy with a hard stick. Times five. On an unmoving guy. That's way too long.

Amen!

Oh god....are those the stubby legs of mighty muggs already seeping into your collection?  What's up with your knock offs, Armada Megs...no long stacks on your US Prime?  No MP Magnus?  Dude....

Nice job on the BT Tracks though - I've somehow managed to stay away from the Tak/Tomy versions.

Well, as you can tell my two shelves of T-Formers, I'm not the die hard collector that others might be.   ;)  The 20th Anniversary prime was purchased before I even knew that MP Transformers existed - the only actual MP figure I own is the Starscream I managed to nab from Wal-Mart.  I really just set out to have a sampling of figures that matched the scale I recall from the comics as a kid.  20th Anniversary Prime and the Alternators seemed like a good fit, with a few universe figs like bumblebee fitting into that smallest assortment.  Figs like Seaspray, Red Alert, and knock-off combiners were just figs that I squeezed in because I don't have any room elsewhere for them.

I'm not overly happy with the Decepticon shelf and will likely improve that over time.  The smaller scale seekers need to go, and a lot of the alts in that group are actually autobots.  I'd like to get a larger scale ravage and maybe some additional cassettes to go with Soundwave.  I bought the movie version birds for a larger scale Buzzsaw and Laserbeak and really like how they fit with the scale of figs like MP Starscream.  Over the last year I picked up a vintage Soundwave and Shockwave to fill out my Decepticons, but I'd like to get a few more MP Seekers if I can find them on the cheap.

The Aramada Megs is a funny story.  For the last two years, I've worked the Multiples Sale in our area, which is a one day sale held just twice a year.  It's put on by our local chapter of Moms of Multiples - basically a giant garage sale for kids clothing, books, supplies, and more importantly, toys.  They charge everyone a commission on anything that sells, but if you volunteer to set up you get a better rate.  You also get to see where everything is before the sale actually opens the next day.  Last year, I saw an Armada Tank Megatron for $1 and asked my wife to pick it up at the sale since I didn't have a Megs in my display and I kind of like the Tank concept for him.  This year, they had what I think is a Leader Class Nightwatch Optimus Prime for a $1, so I got that too.  I think I might make it an annual thing as something of a reminder from the event. Its also a pretty cheap way to pick up some cool figs from years past and try to transform them on my own.

And yes, those are Transformers Muggs on the top shelf...UGH.

I have to say that in just this last week its been a complete 180 on this site.  Great scoops hitting the front page, spotlights on customs, even the buzz around the forms seems more alive than it has been in months.  Keep up the great work guys - it is very much appreciated.

first off... how many of you no the signifacance of the figure? second [ahhhhhh im not writing in caps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]] THERE, SECOND, WHAT EXACTLY MADE THAT PARTICULAR FIGURE SPECIAL? PLS HELP ME UNDERSTAND

The Blue Snags was only available via a Sears Catalog Cantina playset.  The set included A plastic cantina base and cardboard backdrop with some play features and four figures: Greedo, Walrusman, Hammerhead and Blue Snaggletooth.  The other three were available as carded figures, as was a shorter red Snaggletooth, but the only way to get the blue one was via this set, which is why it's a little more "rare" than most of the other figs.

Nope, only the vinyl chase Jawa came with a blaster.

Whew!  Okay thanks.  At least I won't waste anymore time looking for it.   ::)
