30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 30AC Wave 3 - Tatooine
« on: May 2, 2007, 07:00 AM »
Wasn't it announced somewhere that wave 3 would hit in May?  Not surprised at all to see this starting to filter in, but I agree - it will probably be a few weeks before these start to really show up in force. Most of my local Targets have nothing on the shelves for TAC, so I'm hoping that means an earlier W3 release.  ;D

New trailer for 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer' 2 is up.

Wow! Just ******* Wow!  :o  8)

Sweet!  Thanks for posting the link.  Who is the guy in the hood that keeps showing up?  Can't be Doom...?  I just hope they don't make #2 like ESB or Back to the Future II where the movie is really just the first half of a bigger story, with Galacticus showing up in #3.  :-\

Bugbite revealed.

It's hard to buy that cutesy Bumblebee mold as a Decepticon, but since I'm never going to own this set, eh.

*YAWN*  No thanks.  Seriously - is anyone else tired of TFormers and SW just repainting the same toy over and over and slapping a new name on it?  Is it that hard to just change the head to look different or alter the wings or do SOMETHING other than just changing the paint scheme?  Is this on my priority list of wants, right next to the polka-dot jedi starfighter.  :P

No love for the shape-shifter?  Come on!  I think she's a great character and hope she stays around.  You never know who is really who with her in play - definitely makes the show more unpredictable.  She's also smokin' hot!  :o

I hope the Hasbro people are reading this board.  Essentially, people are willing to keep shelling out $ for 6 inch figs that they aren't even that excited about, but moving to 5" would give most ML collectors an excuse to quit buying anything Marvel.  Hmmnn..wonder what they should do.

I got my Avengers in the mail tonight and I have to say I'm much more impressed with W2.  She-Hulk is great - nice job of making her a little bigger than the normal figs.  Lord Thor is solid, and quicksilver looks good, but a little animated.  I was least impressed with yellowjacket - his head just seems goofy to me, but not a bad figure overall.  I'll keep buying ML if they continue to put out stuff like this.

Not that anyone ever shops there, but Kmart is also running their quarterly 10% off all star wars toys this week.  I didn't see an add, but they had signage up at the shelf at my local store earlier in the week.  Let the stampede to Big K begin!  :o

These toys represent their "protoform" configurations. Once they "scan" our Earthly vehicles, their robot and vehicle modes will appear different from these raw modes.

I know, but they still look pretty rediculous IMO.  Guess I'm too nostalgic for the old school G1 characters... :-\

Made a deal with a guy on Fwoosh for Yellowjacket, Thor, She-Hulk and Quicksilver - I'm anxious to see if these are an improvement or not.  I actually didn't think W1 was that bad outside of Emma.  They are still making some pretty obscure characters (Black Knight, Yellowjacket?), so I'm holding out hope for a few more of the missing Avengers in 6" style.  If they convert to 5", I'm done with Marvel figures as well.  On the flip side, if they stick around, I'll continue to buy 3-4 of these per wave.

Nice to finally meet you tonight Ryan!  Sold a couple of extra TAC Wave 2 figs to the knash this evening. Hope you're able to find the rest of the wave shortly!

PS - Let me know if you're interested in that Sith Speeder Maul!

+1 for Vladdy!  Sold an old Destroyer to Steve-O tonight, but couldn't talk him into taking my battle damaged one.  Maybe next time!  ;)

Justin, thanks for the hook up on the extra Droideka... might have to keep my eyes peeled for any other goodies you might have.

ps... I hope you and Ryan were able to ID each other.

Hey, thanks for helping me clean out my basement.  Ryan did show and I gave him is bag of goodies for cash - I'm sure our transactions look like drug deals to everyone else in the parking lot.   ;)

They look bad IMO....

Agreed.  How amazing - they transform from fairly uncool looking robots into a metal comet.  Wow.  I'm really dissapointed that the movie robots don't look more like the toy/comic versions of the characters.  :-\

Reflective boobs!... I didn't know the original Jabba actor had the part as Optimus.

Hey hey hey...I bet this guy looks pretty cool with his helmet on...and maybe with his gut sucked in a little.

Death to UGH!!!  >:(

I hate the whole UGH promotion - nothing like creating short supplies of figures to get all the non-SW folks to buy them up and resell them to SW collectors at twice the price.  :P
