JD Sports Forum! / Re: NFL Off-Season 2007

I'm tired of Moss and the Pats, so here's hoping he's got no more gas in the tank and they stink this year.  Here's what I want to know going into next season:

1.) How do the Packers expect to run the ball with noah Herron and a rook?
2.) When is Dallas going to start really utilizing M. Barber III?  Didn't he have like 14 TD's as a back-up/goal line specialist?
3.) Is Oakland actually going to be worse than last year?  The only guy I can remember that's still on the team is Aaron Brooks and that's not a good sign.
4.) Is McNabb going to be the same guy that started out the first half of last year or is he done?
5.) Who do you think will be the best rusher in 2007 (Yards + TDs)? I'm not a niners fan, but my money's on Frank Gore.

I think Sylar stopped Hiro one of 2 ways

-he can 'Freeze' time
-Hiro got weak because he couldn't kill-so it it was his weakness that lost his power-not Sylar's doing at all.

I DO like John's theory for the virus on Sylar- wonder if the show producer's thought of that one though :P

I think the sword his dad has is a better unbreakable one and his dad will make Hiro into a fearless warrior too.

I think explanation #2 is correct.  Sylar has no power over time - if he did, he would just freeze time when killing his victims or at least stop anyone from running away.  Makes more sense that Hiro lost control - he has admitted that he doesn't really have much control over his powers.

Personally, I can't wait for Sylar to get his due.  They've done a great job of making him the guy to hate.  I'm worried about him becomming too powerful at this point.  I'm still not sure about who's going to explode, if anyone.  I'll be surprised if its Ted - he seems to be gaining so much more control over his power.  I still don't get what Linderman and company hope to gain out of killing off a million people.  They could easily expose that people have powers if they wanted to and they'll have Nathan in the president's office, so what more do they want?

Here's a big Spoiler guess for you.......................................I think Linderman is going to use Micah to control the voting results for the election, which is how Nathan gets elected despite being so far behind in the polls.   ;)

Looks like there's a pretty good mix of what people do and don't want from this wave, which I think is a pretty good indicator of a good wave.  Again, kudos to Hasbro on piecing together a decent assortment with little planning.

Many have probably already seen this, but I just saw some of these "Marvel and DC" parodies today (in the style of the Mac/PC commercials).  They are kind of funny, and the third one covers the new movie a little bit.  Here's the links if anyone is interested:

Marvel and DC #1

Marvel and DC #2

Marvel and DC #3

Marvel and DC #4

These are hilarious!  Thanks for posting!

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Admiral Ackbar

I'd be cool with a new Ackbar, but he isn't at the top of my rescuplt list.  I'd rather have the rest of the bounty hunters redone, SA versions of endor trooper, hoth trooper, a good rebel fleet trooper and a half dozen SA Rebel Pilots first.

Because if we get the product at a secondary market, that means that it has been sold and out of the store.  When companies make exclusives, the only thing that matter is to sell them all.

Here's the deal though - how many items would they have sold if the item was not exclusive?  Would you sell more items if you were in all the Wal-Marts vs. multiple retail chains?  I don't think so.  There are parts of the country where Targets, TRU's, and even Wal-Marts are non existent.  Granted, they can jack up the margin for exclusives because they put a pretty case around them and make it sound rare, and I'm sure the retailers like it, but its ridiculously hard to get some of these items without help.  I don't know about you, but I get awfully frutrated having to pay 2x retail because I don't have any WM's nearby.

Here's what they OUGHT to do...only offer excluisves if there's a way for everyone to access them.  Go ahead and sell it at Wal-Mart as long as you can buy it at or  Then you can still charge $15 for a basic figure, but at least everyone has a shot at it.  Or, just offer the exclusive stuff on line.  If big box retailers want something exclusive, let them have it exclusively for a month, then make it available elsewhere.  There are still tons of people who will flock to retailer x because they can get the item there first.

I just don't think its worth the possibility of chasing away potential buyers.  If you lose ten hardcore collectors for every exclusive you offer, what is the total opportunity cost of those ten collectors, who might have continued collecting for another 10-20 years?  Seems like a good way to ruin a franchise vs. something that would bring new people in.

On an average day, a 2003 Mazda Protege 5.  On a good day, I get to drive the 2006 Toyota Sienna.  ;D

Very interesting... of course, it means after the end of the month, we'll have to wait until Jan-08 for new episodes.   :(

Hmmn...Battlestar is gone until January too right?  Maybe I'll just stop watching TV until January...

Oh well, at least Bastila, SCUBA clone, and K'Kruhk are on it!

PS I dont give a rats behind about the Solo kids.

I would so much rather have the Solo kids than our 59th clone trooper, this time with flippers.  ::)

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2007 Star Wars Comic Packs
« on: May 7, 2007, 11:16 PM »
I've had no luck finding these, but I keep hearing multiple reports of people finding them at TRU's.  Hopefully they will make their way to Target stores soon!

ill get the vanguard and the clones..possibly the droid aswell BUT what am i talking about i wont see this wave...last waves never hit Canada.

Is this supposed to be the last wave of TAC figs?

#01 Bastila Shan
#02 Corran Horn
#03 Jacen Solo
#04 Jaina Solo
#05 K'kruhk
#06 Clone Trooper (Scuba Gear)
#07 Grand Admiral Thrawn
#08 IG Lancer Droid
#09 Lumiya
#10 Noghri

This is a pretty decent list.  I like all of these, except the scuba gear clone.  I'm a little cloned out...just waiting for the day when we see "wild safari clone trooper", "park ranger clone trooper," & "speedy oil change clone trooper."

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: Recent 30AC Purchases
« on: May 7, 2007, 02:35 PM »
Picked up the comic packs last Saturday morning at TRU. My son bought the extra of the Voss and Alpha sets. I didn't realize the Luke was SAC until I got home and looked at it more(not an opener) and because I didn't read the boards about it earlier. Geez, I bet those Luke 2 packs won't sit long.

I also picked up the V-wing via Matteo at our SOCAL swap meet up lunch

SAC?  ???

Wow, this wave is taking a beating.  I actually don't think this list is too bad, especially considering that Hasbro had to do some fast tinkering to replace the force unleashed stuff.  We get a holo vader - that was bound to happen eventually with all the other holo figs.  Lots of troop builders - good guys and bad guys, couple of background aliens...what's not to like?  I'm underwhelmed by yet another clonetrooper repaint, but otherwise this is an okay wave IMO.  Admit it - this is ten times better than yet another Han, Luke, Leia, Chewie, Vader, Threepio, and R2 in the same duds we already have 20 versions of.
