Other Toy Lines / Re: Transformers

Rumors around the interweb are that TF Animated will be cancelled/put on hold come this May.  Not that anyone cares though.

You're right about that.   ;)

I noticed in GH's weekly Q and A this week, they mentioned how the days of the $20 vehicle are going to soon be gone.  I've seen it mentioned before, but I noticed that our local WM has raised their vehicle prices to $24.77 now ($24.99 at TRU).  Surprisingly, I think Target is the only one currently at $19.99 (some stores might be $21.99 now that I think of it).  I guess it goes hand in hand with all the other price hikes lately, but it really is too bad.  The vehicles for $20 always felt like a pretty decent value for the most part, but some will seem less and less every time we jump $5.

I'm okay with $20 to $25 for the new mid-size vehicles.  New sculpts are totally worth that.  Its just unfortunate that the repacked/repainted stuff will have to cost that much as well, buecause it will likely sit and kill the distribution.

He wasn't traded.  He was a free agency and chose Seattle over Minnesota and Cinci.

He was a free agency?   ;)  Sounds like three terrible options to me.  Time to bid farewell to a former fantasy stud.

Hey it's only $40!

Not including the travel and admission to get to Disney.   ;)

I want to get the set just for that Vader - I don't have any figures of that character yet.  Hopefully they'll make this available through other means (fan club, online, or Disney Mall Stores).

I heard on the radio tonight that Houshmanzadeh was traded to Seattle.  That effectivley eliminates any interest I have in fantasy players from Cinci or Seattle next season.   :P

I've not seen them at Target, TRU, or WM in the Minneapolis area.

I think its a neat idea - a little bummed that they felt they had to put Han and Chewie in the mix though.  Its a little lame IMO that Han somehow gets involved in 99.9% of the weirdest and most important things that ever happen in the SW universe.

I like Ryan's color coding and am going to copy it for my list.  Thanks Ryan!

Star Wars3.75" FigsGetting 2x of all "new" basic figs from Legacy, but very few Legends figs.
Multipacks2x of all Battlepacks, Evolutions, and Comic Packs unless they are reissued figs.  I'm most excited for the Legacy Comic Packs coming out this fall!
Vehicles1x of anything new (not just repainted, I want NEW.  This will include the Y-Bomber and Turbotank - not so sure about the X-Wing, but I'll probably end up getting that too.
ExclusivesI'll probably get 1x of any exclusives and try to pick up a second on the cheap sometime down the road.
VintageI crossed Blue Snaggletooth off the list finally, so I'm just looking for a Brown Snake for Yoda and a Helmet for Boushh.  I'll still be shopping for various 12" figs and parts as well.
Galactic HeroesThought I could drop this line, but I just bought the Snowspeeder BP.   ::)  I may buy a few more of my favorite characters, but otherwise I hope to be done with these.
KubricksStill not spending big on the chase figures, but its going to be hard to ignore the Fett set coming out later this year.
12" FigsI've drastically cut back on these, but may get 1-2 more this year depending on what is released.
LegoI'm done with Lego unless I can find things on major clearance.  I love these, but am running out of space and money.
MarvelLegendsIts a dying line, but I'm in until the bitter end.  Will be getting the 2-packs with Iron Man & SHIELD figs at some point.
UniverseI really want to get the Avengers from this line, but not happy about reports of $9 price tags.  I will probably get a few here or there as deals pop up.
TransformersMasterpieceChances are slim of me getting any of these due to the price point.  I passed on Grimlock and Magnus, but would likely lay down some dough for these if I can find a deal.
AlternatorsHey, I can always hope!  ;)

Going to do my best to completely avoid DC, GI Joe, Transformers, Iron Man, McFarlane, Indy, & Mighty Muggs (Snowtrooper almost pulled me in this week - I know I will be weak when I see the Biker Scout though   :-\)

*EDIT* So we're nearling the halfway point of 2009 and I Wanted to look back on this.  I ended up buying an iron man figure on clearance and 4 mighty muggs (2 SW and 2 Tformers).  Caved and bought a box each of he upcoming Kubrick sets as well.  Not a good start at trimming down the list.   :P

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Official Movie Thread

Sweet.  I hope this works out.  Her voice as the narrator would be cool, but it would also be nice to see an old Sarah Connor terminated at the start of the war.  That would be in contrast to the T3 storyline, but that timeline no longer exists based on the TV show.  Man time travel is cool - next thing you know, they'll be time travelling on LOST.

So.  It looks like Sun, Frank, Locke, Ben and the plane crashed on the Island in the "present".

I'm personally having a tough time remembering "when" everyone is, but why do assume that the plane crashed in the present versus the past?  Ben's crew doesn't seem to have run into anyone yet, have they?

I have a question about the boats that are on the beach.  Sawyer's team finds them on the beach in the ruins of their camp, right?  Ben's team seems to have also found them, but he's on the other island, right?  Any theories on where these came from or who is using them?  Since "things" seems to move through time with the castaways, I wonder if Ben's team is in the past with Jack's group, but takes the boats to the other island when the island moves through time.  That would move the boats into the future where Sawyer found them.  Also, I didn't get a good look at them, but is this the same type of boat that Alex gives to Kate & Sawyer when they're escaping from the others?

It will be interesting to see if the packaging is the same but with new graphics or a completely new design.

Looks like it's all-new packaging for these.  For whatever reason, I haven't bought any of these little Japanese droids yet, but now that they are coming to Target I'll probably grab R2-D2 at the very least...

Thanks for the package shots Jeff!  I might pick a few of these up - I'm a little dissapointed to have paid the higher price on SWshop.com to get the foreign versions long ago, but oh well.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Legacy Wave 5 - A New Hope
« on: February 27, 2009, 09:58 PM »
I found one of each (except Luke Stormtrooper) at one WM about a week ago.  However, no other store, including various Targets I've checked almost daily, have gotten this wave at all.  No remnants or anything!  This one is really slow to roll out, and I have a feeling there won't be many pegwarmers.

These hit the Minneapolis area in a big way just this week.  Still not warming pegs, but stores are starting to get multiple cases in which is a good sign.  I'd give it another week or two before we start seeing extras of just about everything.  I think the Jawa will continue to be the hardest to track down.

I'm actually surprised to see so many variations on the vintage figs.  I know we talk a lot about how the current variations in figs and accessories and packaging could somewhat intentional, but there were just as many (if not more) variations per fig back in the 70's and 80's.  My favorite is my "short-mouth" Biker Scout.  I should have gotten the regular one in the picture for a better comparison shot.

Very cool shelf.  I don't collect these, but they look sweet and I like the way you have them set up with some room between them.  My only reco is to tuck your power cord behind the shelf sir.  Oh, and finish your beer before it gets warm or spills.
