Kubricks / Re: Attack of the Kubricks!
« on: April 11, 2006, 09:43 PM »
WOW.

I guess most people thought those were going to be the most likely chases (I know that I had already guessed Wedge and Tarkin), but dang it is strange to see them pop up so soon.

This announcement, while very cool, just made Kubrick Series 6 release day a whole lot more boring...  :(

A report a while back said they were in the Wal-Mart computer system for $10.96 or something like that.

Not sure on TRU, but I guess they'd be in a similar $12 range as Target (maybe even as high as $13).

Vintage Kenner / Re: Altha Prime?? whaaa?...
« on: April 8, 2006, 02:54 PM »
Yes, it is absolutely true.

As is the case with many many things about the Vintage line, the answer can be found at www.ToysRGus.com.

If you've never seen it, head over there and read the 1985-1986 Line Extension Feature that they have over there.  It's a really cool look at what might have been if the line had continued...

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Battle of Endor Wave
« on: April 8, 2006, 01:32 PM »
The Endor Wave is now up for Pre-Order at EE.

They list R2-D2 as Saga #10, so that would be just the Hoth Version.  The list the Emperor as #43 (which was the number that CaseFresh said R2 was), so at this point it looks like the CasePack info was just a mistake on their part...   :(

edit: Dang, Jared beat me by a minute!   :P

Other Collectibles / Re: Unleashed Battle Packs

I'm looking forward to the ESB sets, but I'm curious about what's after that. I'd love some Sandpeople or Cantina characters.

A few posts back, Nathan posted some info on "what's next" after the Hoth wave...

BTW, here is RebelScum's rumor list for after Hoth:

Jedi Masters
-- I'm guessing it's Mace, Saesee, Agen Kolar, and Kit Fisto from the Palpy office confrontation.

New Empire
-- not sure what this would be.

The Star Destroyer bridge at the end? Palpy, Vader, Tarkin, & generic officer? That would be nifty, but I really don't see them going this obscure so early in the line.

Maybe just some ROTS clonetroopers in plain white armor, with a generic Imperial officer.

Or, if we take it as a literal reference to "my new empire", maybe it's Obi, Mustafar Padme, pre-crispy Vader, and .... what, 3PO?

Vader's (501st) Legion

Shocktroopers

Saga Collection '06 / EpIII Greatest Battles Collection
« on: April 8, 2006, 11:56 AM »
So, this morning a JD reader sent me an a spy report on a possible wave 2...  and after doing a little digging this morning, I see he got his "inside info" straight from Yoda's News (because what he sent me is basically word-for-word the same thing and it's dated after they posted their news  ::)).

Anyway, here's the info if you haven't seen it already...

"Greatest Hits Breaking News!

Our Bothan Spy reports some breaking news that in late June, the second wave of Greatest Hits figuires will be released. So far nine have been confirmed, all repacks from the ROTS line, and will include the 501st Clone Trooper, AT-TE Gunner, C-3PO, Count Dooku, Blue Royal Guard, Padme, R4-G9, Kit Fisto, and the Preview Wookie Warrior! Most of them were hard to find, so these will be welcome additions to many collections.

**Update! We have confirmed that these will be the only 9 in this wave with the 501st being 2 per case, the AT-TE being 2 per case and the C-3PO being 2 per case, the rest will be 1 per case and make up the 12 total!"

Well, if they are carded on the Saga 2006 Cards like the other wave, I'll gladly buy them.   :)

Yeah, but he's technically a "repack" in this wave in my book since the Bespin Vader is first available in the Tatooine wave...  :P

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Battle of Endor Wave
« on: April 7, 2006, 07:18 PM »
This assortment contains doubles of four of the new figures, while the remainder is made up of four singles: Emperor Palpatine (new!), R2-D2, Commander Cody, and Bespin Battle Vader.

What the hell?

Is that an assortment that actually makes sense?   :o

TWO of each of the new figures (Moff, DSG, 'wok, 3PO)
ONE HTF figure (Cody)
ONE R2 (to go with 3PO)
ONE repack Emperor
ONE repack Vader (to go with the Emperor and the rest of the imps in the wave)

Wow...  that assortment actually makes sense to me.  About the only bad thing with that case is that they decided to repack that version of the Emperor.  :P
