I've got some time this month and I picked up a "weird" alien figure for fodder for this challenge.

I have no idea what this guy is, just a green monster figure from the Salvation Army (a good place for cheap/ junky figures for fodder).

Should be fun to see what everyone comes up with this month!

Since GP X is over. How about pinning this topic?

 :)

OK, I've got my "Rykrof" head... just need to decide what the heck to make with him.  ;)

Another busy month thanks to 400% Wicket, Kubricks, and Hasbro's fast pace for 2006...

January = $354.99
February = $240.39

Stuff I bought in the past month:
400% Be@rbrick Wicket
Carded Kubrick Darth Vader w/Acrylic Case
2006 Saga Hoth Wave (2 openers)
2006 Saga Geonosis Wave (7 carded and 6 openers)
2006 Galactic Hero 2-Packs (2 openers)
EE Astromech Droid Box Sets (Set I and Set II)
Shipping Supplies (Padded Mailers and Tape)

Once again, I managed to offset the cost by selling some of the extra stuff in my "for sale" list.  Always nice to turn old toys into new toys.   :)

Or you can skip robby.jp or HLJ (and the fees they charge you poor Canucks) and turn to your favourite Minnesotan to hook you up with a single box of 12 or basic set of 6 from his multi-Master Case order.   :P

With all the folks working on the Group challenge, I had to go back and re-visit my old Roron Corobb:

dead image link removed

I did some trim work on his skirt and painted some highlights on him.  Not really a new custom so I don't want to post him in the other thread (he's not really Clone Wars accurate anyway), but I did want to show off the improvements/updates that I made to him.

I've finally had a chance to work on some things, so hopefully I'll have some more pictures later this week.   :)

Here's a story for ya...

So, I wake up this morning and in the process of putting in my contact lenses, I use up the last of my contact solution.  I make a mental note so that hopefully I will remember to buy some when I make my daily trip to Target to look for toys.  Well, it was one of those busy days at work and I didn't have time to run out to Target over lunch.  I figured "no problem".  I'd just hit Walgreens on my way home and grab a new bottle or two to re-supply.

Now, I drive past this particular Walgreens every day on my way to work, never giving it a second thought most of the time, that is, until days like today when I actually need to stop in there.  So, I pull into the parking lot, hop out of my car and head into the store.  I moved past a few old ladies milling about in the entry way and check out the overhead signage.  I see the sign for "Eye Care" and off I go.

Now, the path from the front door leads me directly past the toy aisle.  I figure, what the hell.  I'll check it out and possibly get the chance to mock the dusty Ep1 figures still on the pegs or something.  Here's where the fun begins.

What do you think was hanging on the pegs?

CLICK ME for your answer!   I know what you're thinking - it's nuts.  Still can't believe it myself.

It was like Karma reached down from the Heavens and said, "Here you go dude!"  They only have ONE Star Wars figure in the whole damn store and it's freakin' Scorch?  Unreal.  He was surrounded by a bunch of Power Ranger and Ninja Turtle crap on a lone peg marked "Star Wars Series - $7.99".  No Yoda, no Poggle - just one lonely Scorch.   :o

I asked the employee in the store if they had any more.  She checked the back and said, nope.  They got a box in last week and that is all that's left.  So, thank you to all the old ladies of Oakdale who picked up Poggle or 3PO or Jango for their grandkids and left Scorch behind.   :)

I was just curious, do any of you display the VOTC (and upcoming VTSC) figures seperate from the rest of your collection?

Nah, I just mix them right in with the rest of the figures...

vOTC Han Solo - with vOTC Leia, Dodonna, EB Chewie, and an extra Rieekan viewscreen
vOTC Leia - with vOTC Leia, Dodonna, EB Chewie, and an extra Rieekan viewscreen
vOTC Luke - with vOTC Ben, Flashback 3PO, CommTech R2
vOTC Ben - with vOTC Luke, Flashback 3PO, CommTech R2
vOTC Yoda - with OTC "Handstand" Dagobah Luke
vOTC Vader - dueling with OTC Bespin Luke
vOTC C-3PO - with PotJ Bespin Han, OTC Bespin Leia, vOTC Lando
vOTC Lando - with PotJ Bespin Han, OTC Bespin Leia, vOTC 3PO
vOTC R2-D2 - with Saga "Escape Pod" C-3PO
vOTC Boba Fett - in Jabba's Palace
vOTC Chewbacca - with my ewoks and soon to be vTSC Han (Endor)
vOTC Stormtroopers (2) - Flanking 500th Vader

At one point I was considering pulling them aside, but it's easier on my display space to just mix them in with the rest.  ;)

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Army Builder of the Year
« on: February 28, 2006, 02:27 PM »
My list would look a little different I think...

- I can safely say that I Army Built way more PotF2 Sandtroopers than Jawas from those late red card, early green card days.

- I agree with Jesse, the DST was very hard to find for me (and many many others).  I was lucky to find ONE let alone army build with him.   :-\   For availability reasons, I'd pick the Endor Rebel from the FF era.  He was cheap and easy to find.

- For RotS, I'd chose a Clone that actually got screen time - like the #6 Shocktrooper or #65 TacOps over the boring white #41.

Maybe Aayla Secura?

She got a couple different basic figures and even an Unleashed figure.  She seems to have a HUGE fan following at conventions and stuff, but she didn't do much of anything really in the movies...
