Suicide Squad - Comic-Con First Look [HD]

Yeah.  Was that CGI Batman in there?  Kinda looked like it...

Could be good... could be hot garbage.  Still don't really know... much depends on how much of this is set up in SvB, I guess.

I still think it's a really odd choice for the 2nd movie in your new shared universe, DC.

I figured it was Lex who sent the note to Bruce.  But they didn't really say either way.

I thought it might be Lex until I saw the Robin suit... then I figured both must be the Joker.  Some of that may be biased from my knowledge of Miller's DKR story line.  I guess the clipping could be Lex-taunting-Bruce though, trying to goad him against Superman?

Was it just me, or did they seem to get most of the characters wrong?

I think the only "character" they got right was the Joker - the "you let your family die" clipping and the robin suit were awesome.

Still don't understand why WW is in this movie...  to look good and fight, I guess.  ???

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: San Diego Comic-Con 2015
« on: July 13, 2015, 12:51 PM »
Well, SDCC is over and I came to this realization:

Any excitement I had for FORCE FRIDAYTM is gone.  I've got this nifty Hasbro calendar counting me down to... what?   ???

I was pretty excited about the possibility of a retail reboot and a new line... but after SDCC, I'm not sure why I should be excited about heading to my favorite retailer at midnight for the 9/4 shopping spree.

Am I supposed to head out and stand in line hoping there will be something for me to buy?  Will I be setting myself up for a massive disappointment?  What if I choose to go to Target, while all the 3.75" collector figures are now exclusive to TRU or something?

And how much should I budget for?  I'm sure I'm not the only one who can't just show up and spend a thousand dollars 'on demand' on this stuff.  I've been setting aside some cash assuming that I'll be buying something, but who knows if it will be enough for whatever they're planning.

Hasbro, I get it.  Mickey Mouse won't let you say anything about the new stuff so you don't over-hype your movie/investment.  Maybe that's for the best.  Maybe I should do the same... I'd hate to get me too excited too, to the point that I buy a bunch of stuff I don't maybe need because it's new and exciting.

So yeah - thanks Hasbro and Disney for giving me the chance to realize I don't have to buy into your Force Friday hype like I bought into the Midnight Madnesses of the past, only to stare at my 2005 Holo Yoda, 2008 Holo CW General Grievous, or whatever figures thinking, "why did I buy this" and remember - oh yeah, I was caught up in the hype.

Not this time, I guess. :-\

I could see Target/TRU/etc. being super wary of buying these in quantity.

I was wondering about that over the weekend - depending on the size of the box, I can't imagine more than 1-2 of these at a store.  Especially if the rumors of other large vehicles for Ep7 (SW7 3.75 Hero Vehicle 129.99; SW7 3.75 Class III Vehicle 49.99; SW7 Villian Starfighter w/Pilot 49.99; SW7 Millenium Falcon 119.99) turn out to be true.  Could be a lot of big things to choose from when the Fall gets here.

The JediDefender Q&A with Hasbro at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 has been posted to our soundcloud account for you to enjoy...   thanks again to Darth Anton for helping us out with our West Coast coverage once again this year! :)

Heads up for those needing 3.75" figure stands!  Today's Daily Deal at EE is 20% off the Star Wars 3.75" Action Figure Base Pack Stands.  These are the "movie logo" stands that came with the 2006 Saga figures.  Pretty good price - $10.40 for 40 stands ($0.26 each) - for an item that doesn't pop up too often anymore.

We got our guys to take some ReAction pics, but it looks like the booth was mainly a "sell you stuff" booth.  Didn't really look like there was anything new there that I could see...

Star Wars Rebels / Re: Star Wars Rebels Toy Rumors!
« on: July 10, 2015, 11:06 PM »
Anyway you look at it, we're up to 4 new Rebels figures now for Fall 2015, so that's something at least.  3.75" isn't totally dead yet. ;)
The other two being Asohka and Vader, right?  Otherwise, I missed two somewhere.

Yeah - Ahsoka, Vader, S2 Inquisitor, and Old Rex.

It was confirmed when 6" figures were shown, that 3.75" is dead, and Hasbro killed it intentionally because they just hate us.

Yeah, I must have missed that... :-\

Will be interesting to see if Rex and S2 Inquisitor are singles, together in a 2-pack, or two halves of two new 2-packs.

Hey - it's old Rex!  Pic showed up in Hasbro's FTP under the "Star Wars Universe" banner...  so that makes FOUR 3.75" figures for the Fall.

I can't really tell yet... no one is posting galleries.

Like Jesse said - their booth is rumored to be a giant cluster due to the exclusive sales - no one has braved it to take photos yet I guess. :P
