The Wookiee Arcade / Re: Star Wars Angry Birds II
« on: May 28, 2014, 11:43 AM »
Rise of the Clones Expansion Pack is supposed to be released today... 44 new levels.

Also, it looks like they are up to 30,000,000 telepod scans in-game.  Obviously someone is having fun scanning their Hasbro Telepods into the game. :P

Joe Defender / 50th Anniversary Line
« on: May 28, 2014, 10:05 AM »
Looks like the upcoming 50th Anniversary Line is going to be available at Big Bad Toy Store as well as TRU.

No idea how BBTS's prices will compare to TRUs, just thought I'd share lthe link for those looking for another option.  ;)

Other Collectibles / Re: Medicom 6" MAFEX Star Wars figures

I thought this was only going to be $45?

MSRP is 4500 Yen (~$44.15 US) in Japan, but most Japanese etailers are charging less ($35-40).

If you order from a solid Japanese etailer like Hobby Link Japan, you can get one for $37.50 US plus shipping from Japan.

BBTS is probably buying them wholesale from Japan for $40-45 shipped to them and then flipping them to US customers with a $10-15 mark up ($55).

Don't think we have a thread started for these yet (and really, Vader is the only once announced/planned so far).  Here's a bunch of pics anyway (clicky thumbnails for a better look):

Retail in Japan will be 4500 Yen and he's due in December 2014.  It'll be pricey to bring one into the USA, but probably worth it if you're a Vader collector.

TRU Exclusive The Black Series Battle on Endor Battle Pack @ Yodasnews

Looks like it includes an AT-ST and 8 figures - Stormtrooper, AT-ST Driver, Imp Officer, Han, Chewie, Leia, 2x Ewoks.

Star Wars Universe / Re: Star Wars Spin-Off #1 - The Thread!
« on: May 23, 2014, 10:22 AM »
Some info has dropped on the first Spinoff: Release Date is December 16, 2016; Gareth Edwards to direct

EDIT: Whoops, checked everywhere EXCEPT the forum where the info was already posted. ::)

No worries, we'll use your post to kick off the official "Star Wars Spin-Off #1" Thread!  (We'll get around to giving it a better title once we actually know what the movie will be about - Boba, Yoda, Han, etc ;))

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I love all the focus on the bird-puppet guy.

All sorts of blogs/sites are breaking down his costume and making grand assumptions about what his appearance in this promo video means for all alien effects/characters planned for the Ep7/8/9 (OMG NO CGI ALIENS!).  People are looking for hints at who/what he might be and talking about how he resembles a certain SW EU Legends character (OMG Kal'Falnl!!!).

I cannot imagine how much fun the LFL/Disney/Bad Robot dudes are going to have messing with all of us via these kind of reveals.  Let the misinformation campaigns begin! :P

Bylsma will probably get fired the day after the Caps name their new coach. Can't imagine the ruckus that would have caused to see him fired only to end up in Washington (or even in Carolina).  :P

I'd like to express something resembling confidence in my team, but with the goalie we have all I can be assured of is a top ten pick in 2015.  I guess there's some consolation we could win the draft lottery.  ::)

What, you don't have faith in a guy with a career 2.96 GAA / 0.906 SV% starting in goal?

We have a slightly worn, slightly crazy Russian netminder UFA you guys could get cheap.  He seems to have gotten over his fear of the cold and bears after spending time in EDM and MIN, and you guys are already great at chanting his name.   >:D

The Bullpen / Re: 2011/2012 Marvel Legends
« on: May 15, 2014, 12:07 PM »
Looks like there may be an (as of yet) unannounced wave of Legends on the way, with an X-Men theme:

The scan shows Stryfe, Magneto, Cyclops (Marvel NOW), Storm (Marvel NOW) and an unmasked Wolverine, with a Build a Figure Jubilee (which was shown earlier with a different wave, that was never released).

Looks like these have been confirmed by Hasbro as a TRU Exclusive Wave.

Sort of fits in with what they did for Xmen: First Class - new X-men toys in stores for movie's release, but not necessarily based on the movie.

I think we're 1, maybe 2 players (big-time goal-scoring forward, right-shot stud D) away from being a true cup contender, but we're definitely trending in that direction and are more than just first round fodder now.  :)

Looks like BBTS picked up some overseas stock and has this set up for preorder - just $79.99 plus shipping.  Limit 2 per person while supplies last.

Ugh, what a gut punch.  Still haven't recovered from last night.

Proud of what the Wild accomplished this year, but bummed it ended the way it did with a fluky bounce to the 'Hawks best player alone in front like that.  :(

It's too bad that Fake Wedge passed away or they could have used him as Ep7 Wedge. :P

Seriously though, I'm glad he's not coming back.  It's neat to have Han/Luke/Leia return, but that's all I need.  I really don't want to see this movie packed with a bunch of 60-70 year old dudes.

Wedge made it through the destruction of two Death Stars, dude has earned retirement on some beach planet.  Give us some new starfighter pilot character that's an offspring of Wedge or something as a nod to him and that's enough for me.
