Revenge of the Sith / Re: battle droids = terrible
« on: April 29, 2005, 11:11 AM »
You do, however, need to get some better stands for them.  The one that comes with the figure looks good, but is pretty much useless.

I highly recommend check out their website and order there, or place an order over the phone.  There are two pegs for the figures on these stands... and when you order, make sure you mention that you heard about them through this site.   ;)

I'll second this point.  The stands that come with the RotS figures were a nice touch, but for a large number of the figures (Battle Droid, Aayla) they suck.  I was much happier with how they looked with the REAL stand than the Hasbro stand.

Much more stability in the figure when 2 feet are on pegs instead of just one...

Guess I should drop a post in here...

Matt hooked me up with a place to sleep for C3.  He took care of all the arrangements, all I had to do was show up and have fun with him, Brent, Jared and the rest of our crew!

Thanks for taking care of the details, MAC!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Wookiee Army
« on: April 29, 2005, 10:41 AM »
I opened my #43 Wookiee Warrior last night.

He is a little hard to stand because of the action feature, but a stand fixed that problem.  I've got him posed with his wookiee blaster and shield, and he looks great standing next to Tarfful, chewie and the Preview Wook.

I kinda wish now that I had grabbed an extra Preview Wookiee so that I could mix and match the accessories between the Preview Wook and the #43 Wookie.

Also, the #43 Wookiee is much less yellow in person.  I was able to grab one that was more of a "tan/brown" paint job, but be fore-warned that there are some crappy paint jopbs out there on this #43 Wookiee!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Clone #6 vs Clone #41

A couple of questions:

1) The EE Clones shipped alreadY?

2) Any word on whether or not there will be clean and dirty versions of 41 shipping?

1) Yes.  They started shipping last week (I've already received mine).

2) No word on that, but with the antenna on their back, I'm guessing they are a specific type of clone from a specific planet or something...

The Vintage Collection / Re: Tonnika Sisters coming?
« on: April 29, 2005, 10:33 AM »
I still think the fact that they haven't gotten figures yet is tied to the fact that they are female characters in lousy outfits with little to no screen time.  They've got ugly 50s hair-dos, tacky outfits, and their undies out the outside like superheroes!  :P

Image this, licensing that.  Bah!  It all comes down to "peg-warmer" status.  If they made them, I'd buy them in a heartbeat of course - they're Cantina figures!  Outside of us die-hard ANH-loving collector dudes, who else on earth would want figures of girls from the 70s?

Putting all the rumor and back-story history aside, I still think that their feared peg-warming status has more to do with it than anything else...  ;)

Of all the pictures I took at Celebration 3, this one is probably my best work.  I think it captured the night perfectly...  ;D

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: EE exclusive Clone Trooper 4-packs!
« on: April 29, 2005, 10:19 AM »
Despite thinking I would only keep the "battle damaged" versions and sell the others, I opened up all 4 of my boxes last night.

I am a damn sucker for these SA Clones.  Of course, my Arena Display now looks even better with 16 more SA clones spilling out of my gunships to save the Jedi's behinds, but I just wish it would have been a little cheaper.  Oh well, too late now.  I guess $25 for a box of 4 SA clones isn't too bad - $6.25 each.

And, like others have said, I do like the colors of these clones.  I think they are a bit nicer than the colored pre-posed clones we got in the 3-packs.

Kubricks / Re: 400% Kubricks

I'm about 1% tempted, 99% want to stay married :P

This is the same boat I'm in...  :P

I'd love to have this Fett, but at the cost of 1/3 of the year's SW budget?  I'm gonna have to pass.   :'(

Maybe I'll pick it up in 2015 or so...

Revenge of the Sith / Re: "Evolutions" assortment...
« on: April 29, 2005, 10:06 AM »
I'd love to see a bunch more of these, like Padme, C-3PO, Leia, Luke, Obi-Wan, etc.  Did anything more come up on them in the Q&A, or is this all we're getting?

According to Hasbro, they only have these 3 sets planned so far, but at the C3 QnA they indicated that sales of this line will determine whether or not they go back and do more.

When we were talking to the Hasbro guys later, they said they had quite a few figures on the list already that they'd like to do if they get the chance to make more - Padme, Obi-Wan, 3PO.  Almost made it seem like if there is a next wave, it'd likely be those three.

So do you guys still flip through all the figures on all the pegs?  Anyone else gotten sick of doing it like I have?

Yes, every store I go to, I try to flip all the pegs.  Usually I'm just checking the numbers on the corner looking for the figures I need, but I do usually go through EVERY peg they have.   :-[

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Clone #6 vs Clone #41
« on: April 29, 2005, 10:03 AM »
Just wanted to mention that the #41 SA Clone does NOT have the same body as the Clone Wars SA Clone Trooper.  They may share the same legs, but that is it.  The #41 Clone has a brand-new Torso, Belt, neck ball, and at least 1 arm is new.

Like Scott said, #41 Clone is much closer to #6 Clone in terms of Sculpt than to the Clone Wars SA Clone.  And, the #41 Clone almost seems "taller" than the other Ep3 clones do.  I think the ball-joint on #41's waist makes him slightly taller than the other Ep3 Clones because they just have the 1-peice torso.

However, the Target Clone Trooper is the Clone Wars SA body with an Ep3 Head.  When you compare the Target Clone Trooper to the CW version, they are almost a perfect match.  Same torso, arms, belt, etc. The only difference I can see if the head sculpt.

While playing around with my Clones last night, I have to admit that the Target one (based on the Clone Wars SA version) is much more "fun" than the #41 version.  He has no goofy antenna sticking out of his back, his joints are a bit tighter, and his belt is much less "big" - if you look at Scott's picture you will see what I mean, #41 has a big belt!

I rank them like this:

#33 Clone Commander - wow!
Target Clone - great neutral sculpt
#06 Clone Trooper - non-intrusive action feature = OK with me
#38 AT-TE Gunner - his elbow joints are the only thing I don't like
#41 Clone Trooper - his antenna really bugs me for some reason
#34 Clone Pilot - somebody had to be last...

Just my $0.02 on the Clones...

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS Recent Purchases
« on: April 28, 2005, 02:05 PM »
Thanks to Bob Dylan SW Fan, I found the Super Art Clone, Wookiee and Neimoidian at TRU tonight (along with all of the figures 32-40 which I left except for an extra AT-TE and the Chopper Droid which I hadn't bought yet, and Red Saber Palpatine).

I hit TRU today and picked up:

2x #38 AT-TE Gunner
1x #41 SA Clone Trooper (last one :(  but at least I got 1)
2x #42 Nemoidian Warrior
2x #43 Wookiee Warrior
2x #44 Droideka

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: I need your Prayers
« on: April 28, 2005, 10:03 AM »
You and your family will stay in my thoughts and prayers, Jim.

Don't even recall taking this picture with Tim (Spirit), but I saw this in Mousedroids C3 album.

I think that was right before those guys left... somewhere around Guiness #9.   :P

Anyone miss out on this Darth Vader?

You may want to check out the front page news...  ;)
