That's a good question.

I had plans for where each vOTC figure would go in my displays/dioramas (Leia at Yavin 4, Han talking with Jabba, Ben with CT R2 and FB 3PO), but now that they are open and on a shelf together, they look GREAT together.

I have pretty much just changed my mind on this one and now, I'll be leaving them together on a shelf.  I just hope that the further waves (ESB and RoTJ) stick to the scale they established.  It could be as close as we get to having the basic version of each figure in the true scale.

If the upcoming Vader and Chewie look silly/short compared to the rest, I'll probably just change my mind and separate them... but as long as they look good, I'm gonna keep them all together on a shelf!

Soon, Brian, soon you will join us in opening a whole set of vOTC.

Now that you've had a taste of the vOTC goodness, you'll never be able to resist the rest :)

Ohhhhh... it's 4 minutes past the end of the Q&A, why isn't anyone posting any info yet :(

Looks like Scum has already posted a little nugget from Hasbro prior to the Q&A regarding the end of OTC... and confirmation of "something" between now and Ep3.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: We Need More Cantina Figures!
« on: July 23, 2004, 03:01 PM »

Lots of chatter around the net regarding the rumors of a possible third Cantina Set.  The rumors seem to fall into two possibilities:

1 - Set 3 w/Rounded Bar Section and Hammerhead, Djas Purh, and Lak Sivrak?

2 - Set 3 w/Rounded Bar Section and Luke Skywalker, BoShek, and Chewbacca?

I don't know how much stock I put in these as they seem to be more fan-boy rumblings and not based in any fact I can discern, but it'd be pretty lame to have to buy Luke, BoShek and Chewie to get that bar center  >:(

Maybe we'll hear something at the Q&A session?  :-\

I think this guy deserves to be in the Duplex...

He seems to be the only 1:1 scale Lobot figure out there.

Original Trilogy Collection / Hasbro's SDCC Q&A Session
« on: July 23, 2004, 12:16 PM »

Today's the day for the Hasbro Q&A...

11:30 to 12:30 (in Room 9) - Hasbro will host a Star Wars presentation with a Q&A session.

Think anything good will come out of it?  Anything more yet to be revealed?  Will we find out what's to come after OTC?  Will some putz waste Hasbro's time with a dumb question like: Is it hard to make figures?

I'll start the specululation and say that I hope we get some solid confirmation of the Coruscant wave and plans for the Oct04-Apr05 time frame.  Will there be new stuff or just nothing until the sneak preview stuff?  I'd also like to hear if there are any plans for more vOTC figures...

Just a few more hours until we find out I guess.

I was surprised they had that much articulation hidden under there.

I might end up using Luke for customs... if he's every re-released for $5.  ;)

In one of the many Six Sigma presentations we've had here at work, I saw their name on the list of "Fortune 500" companies who are using it to cut costs.  So, it's pretty safe to say they are using some form of it in their business models.

I just really wonder what is going on in their heads sometimes when it comes to stuff like this, which figures cost more/less to make, etc.
