Saga '02-'04 / Re: Burger King Glasses Figures!!!!!!

I like the glasses, but the figures themselves... ugh.

You're right Brian...

CT Han (Cantina)
2003 Gold Stripe Card
2004 Hall of Fame Card
2004 OTC Card
OTC Falcon pack-in
Cup set pack-in

Uh... ok.  We get it.  It's a nice figure!  Move on Hasbro!

I saw Spider-Man 2 this weekend, and before it, I saw a preview for...

Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid

What the heck?  Didn't they already make this movie?  Was anyone REALLY demanding a sequel to the J-Lo / Ice-Cube "classic"  :-X?

Ick ick ick.

In fact, ALL of the previews I saw before Spider-Man 2 sucked:
Catwoman
Anacondas
Sleepover
Thunderbirds

One parting thought... Anyone else kind of interested to see "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle"?  Sort of a stoner Bill and Ted for the next generation?

Finally got around to seeing this on Sunday...

Very good movie.  I really liked it, and I think I liked it better than the first one.  I can see that they are really thinking ahead, because (as others have already said), there were lots of little clues/foreshadowing for upcoming events.

I liked the way Molina handled Doc Ock.  I also liked the way that Molina "fit" the Doc Ock persona.  No need for a rippled-Ab super-villian, Doc Ock had all the extra flab a sciencey-type dork would have ;)

Anyway, just wanted to add on my kudos on a job well done.  If you haven't seen it yet, add my name to the growing list of those who highly recommend it!

Hey!  How did your case get here before mine?

rasafrasa  >:(

Anyway, MY EE wave 8 and 10 should be here today according to the delivery tracking... After I get those cases, I should have OTC 1-21, 26-28.  Sweet!

I've got a Q for you (since I can't wait until I get home and look at my own dang figures), did you try the CCP helmet on a regular head?  I am considering head-swaps for customs, just wondering if the CCP helmet will look strange on a non-"hooded" head.

Also, on you superfluous PotF2 figures, I did the following this weekend as I revamped the SW room to make room for the OTC:

Dengar - added PotF2 version to Jabba's Palace
Bossk - added PotF2 version to Jabba's Palace
Dagobah Luke - seated in my vintage Yoda's Hut with PotF2 Yoda
Leia Collection Bespin Leia - trash ;)  (ok, stashed in my custom fodder pile)

In other words, if I didn't have a good spot for them in a diorama/scene or something, I chucked them in the "custom fodder" pile.

I agree... MN land of food on a stick.

Pork Chop on a stick... Mmmm... *drool*

Each year, we try to find one new "food on a stick" to try.  Last year, it was deep-fried Oreo on a stick.  VERY sweet.  Tooo sweet, in fact.  ;)

Got my first OTC today!

Dagobah wave is super-cool!  Just thought I'd post ome quick thoughts...

Luke is great, I love the functionality of the heads and arms!

Spirit Obi-Wan is cool!  The pose is strange with the saber in hand, but ehg.  Still a different take on the spirit stuff and different than the first two tries at "Spirit" figures.

R2- very grimey, but still cool.  The sound is an ok feature, I'd have referred a functional third leg though...

Yoda!  Cool little figure!  I love him and he'll be my favorite Yoda (until the vintage OTC one get here ;)).

Well,

My EE cases didn't make it today (wave 8 and wave 10), they'll be here on Monday.  BUT, my NewForce case came today!

WAVE 7:
2x Dagobah Luke - standing
2x Yoda
2x Dagobah R2
1x Spirit Obi-Wan
1x Pilot Luke
1x Jedi Luke
1x Han
1x Chewie
1x Darth Vader

Looks like I was one of the lucky ones to get this case and not wave 9!  Now I just need to track down a handstanding Luke and a second Spirit Obi-Wan and I'll be set!

MAN.  These cards are Sooooooooooo sweet.  I just can't stop looking at them!  I'm headed to the Dagobah wave thread now to post my thoughts...

Yeah, I saw Jared's post and a few others around the net, which all seemed to say the clamshells were squished (those are the "initial reports" I was referring).

I was just wondering if anyone else (like B or anyone else who found them) had better clam-shells.  I'd like to think they aren't all scrunched...  :(

And, count me in on the "displaying-in-the-clamshell" crowd.  I'll buy a set to keep clam-shelled, and then a second set to open, but that's it.

I do have a friend who is buying a THIRD set, which he plans to display un-clamshelled along side his Vinty 12-backs, but he is crazy. ;)

Awesome, B!

Is vOTC Han as cool as we thought he'd be?  I can't wait for the pics of Chewie to see how well Han and Chewie go together.

Nor can I wait until I get my hands on one of those vOTC  figures... might have to hit a few extra K-Marts on my toy run today/tomorrow!

Speaking of which, how are people's clam-shells looking?  Initial reports seemed to be saying that the clam-shell was pretty thin and thus was being scrunched straight from the cases...

Dang!

I guess I should have figured it wouldn't be that easy to nab the Handstand Luke...  I'm supposed to be getting a case or two today and the rest on Monday, so I'll have to post later with my Luke-Luck.

Considering you now have access to the "secret" areas 'round here Jeff, I think if you do some snoopin' around a little, you may be able to get in on the secret of "IT".   ;)

Oooohhh.... I know what IT is.

What Dagobah Luke is everyone finding??  I see in the picture you have both Matt, were they both at the same store??

According to Jared (who picked up waves 7-10 at EE) over in the recarded/rehashed thread...

The Luke pose variation was the standing version in all cases except wave 9 (I have to double check that that's the right wave, the box says WV7.25 on it) which is the handstand version.

:)

Uh...

Does anyone else care about "it" anymore?

Or am I the last loser who still hasn't figured it out...
