Revenge of the Sith / Re: Assault Vehicle Assortment
« on: March 7, 2005, 11:56 AM »
Target and its employees are slaves to the DPCI numbers - if there is a shelf tag/peg tag that has a number/bar code and that space is empty AND the computer says they have more of that item in, they will restock the peg/shelf.

This is why Target is leaking these items at stores all over the country -- because their inventory systems are telling them to restock the shelves.

I'm pretty sure the Collection 1 figures have the same DPCI number as the preview wave, so as soon as the Preview Wave sale/discounts end, don't be surprised to see those figures start to leak out early too.

Yeah, I agree.  Since Target did not give the Vehicles and GH 2-packs a new DPCI number, I'm sure most places just re-stocked the stuff when they had it.  Most of the other new stuff for RotS has a new DPCI number.  So, when the Target stockers scanned the shelf, it popped up stock was in the back and they put it out I guess.

Seems awfully strange though that it happened ALL OVER the country in the span of 1 weekend.  I wonder if it was a Target wide test of the April 2nd date?  Leak a whole bunch of stuff and then see what happens?   :-\

With a bunch of people finding this vehicle this weekend, I thought I'd better bump this thread so people have a place to post pictures and pick up the discussion...

With a bunch of people finding this wave of vehicles this weekend, I thought we better start up a thread for this vehicle too...

I managed to find this one this weekend and I love the design.  I like the little buzz droids too, should be cool to see them in action in the movie!

I apologize if there is a duplicate thread already dedicated to these vehicles... I didn't see one, but admittedly, I didn't look very hard either...

A few people (myself included) have mentioned finding these this past weekend in the Basic Figure Leak: Already, so I guess we should make that one more for all early leak reports...

As for the rest, I think there are already topics started for Grievous' Wheel Bike and Obi-Wan's Starfighter and now the Droid Tr-Fighter, so feel free to post pictures of your loot there!   :)

Didn't mention it in heer yet, but I too was one of the lucky ones.

A shopping trip to Target this weekend yeilded me the 3 new RotS Vehicles (Obi-Wan's ship, Wheel Bike, Droid TRI-Fighter) as well as the 3 new RotS based GH 2-packs!

Very cool to find some stuff before the "big day" in April...

I was pissed to see Joe Nathan scooped up, I was planning on getting both Twins named Joe >:(

Well, don't take Joe Mays in protest.  Better stay away from that "Joe".

Episode 3 iPod Case at

Anyone going to pick up this little item for their iPod?

For $30, I think I'll pass.  Besides, I like my black cushioned sport case a bit better anyway.  ;)

Other Collectibles / Re: Exclusive Republic Commando Maquette

They do plan to paint these before they release them, right? :-\

From the site:

"NOTE: Images shown are 3-D rendered models of the maquette. The final product is subject to change."

Doesn't sound like it will be painted, but rather it will be finished with a weathered "bronze" look.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: The Mustafar Playset...
« on: March 3, 2005, 09:55 AM »
Another Hasbro update today...

Mustafar Final Duel Playset at Hasbro

Vader, who was once the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, has turned to the dark side and now fights on the side of evil against his former master. Vader and Obi-Wan meet in a climactic confrontation and fight to the finish while dodging blasts from a volcano and overcoming dangerous obstacles.

The Mustafar Final Duel Playset brings the dramatic action of Episode III to life with multiple play features and Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader action figures. Battle discs allow you to recreate the Jedi dueling action or launch figures at each other for incredible mid-air battle. Breakaway platforms, a pool of “lava”, and a blasting volcano add to the thrill of this climactic confrontation.

The more I look at it, the more I like it.  I didn't like the Geonosis Arena at first, but the more I longer I own it, the more I like it.  I think this will be much the same for me...

Kobe is definitely not "leading the way" like he should be...   >:(

This is no surprise to me.... Both Scott and I fully expected Kobe to crap out on ya.  Sorry, man.   :(

Of course, up here in the land of Wolves there are plently of surprises to keep me humble in taunting your LAkers.   :'(

Losing to 17-40 Golden-fricken-State last night?  AT HOME?  Yet ANOTHER crappy-ass 4th quarter killed us...  at this point I don't even know why I bother anymore.  ::)

Maybe I'll take a break from sports for a bit and just pick up the Twins in March... I can always jump back on the wolves bandwagon when/if they make the playoffs I guess.

In fact, hey look it's March now!  And the first Twins grapefruit league game is today!

[prompty removes himself from the Wolves bandwagon... goodbye NBA season 04-05]

Anyone interested in having breakfast with Wicket?

Eh.... not sure if I need to go to this.

I guess, what with it being a catered breakfast, the $50 probably breaks down like this:

$10 - Autograph charge
$10 - Goodie Bag
$15 - C3 Vader
$15 - Catered Hot Breakfast

Or something... So you are probably getting $50 worth of "stuff" if you go.  I think I'd rather have the $50 instead.  I can buy my own breakfast for $5 and Vader for $15.

The new one has a little opening on the lower right hand side, looks like a try me feature was added changing the bubble slightly...

Looks like the packaging is changing a bit on this one...

Here's what it looked like originally:
