I started reading "Angels and Demons" by that "DaVinci Code" guy, so I'll probably read that one after "A&D".

My wife read both and finally talked me into taking a break from the NJO and old books I read (Camus, Vonnegut, Steinbeck, etc), so I decided to read them.

We'll see how it goes...

RE: your news nuggets on the front page about the Reb and Imp symbols.

Hasbro actually addressed this in the Insider #76 Toy Box column.

They said they simplified it for kids by switching the RED to bad guys, like Vader's saber, and the BLUE to good guys like Obi-Wan's/Luke/Anakin's saber.

I don't have it in front of me, but I can type it up later.

In fact, it was pretty amusing, the whole column was a "here's why we did this" to answer collector comments on:
- The sandcrawler getting dropped by Target after they reported in in Insider #75
- the symbol color switch/swap and why
- the slight change to safety text on the vintage repro cards (can't duplicate old card fronts exactly due to changes in safety codes/laws)

and a few other things I can't quite remember off hand...  dang work is distracting me :)

O Canada makes a triumphant return to the Stanley Cup Finals after a ten-year absence.

Sweet... Props to a Canadian  team making it this far.  An appearance in the Finals should help Calgary's bottom line and strenghten their position finanacially as we may or may not head into the lock-out.

Besides, of all the Canadian teams in the NW division, I like Calgary best and Vancouver the least.  Sorry D, but the Oilers are in the middle.  Sure, they had 99, which goes a long way, but they have some sort of a magic hex on my beloved Wild.  So Calgary it is!

Go Leo!  Gophers Rule!

I saw Mad-Dog (the ex-LAker Dance Machine) turn it over THREE times under the basket at key stretches in the 3rd when Sacto went on a run to close the gap.  Not cool for the next round.

I also agree., a gimpy Sammy C = no good :(  Hope he gets a chance to rest that back.

Separated at birth?

"Backpack" Dagobah Luke:

and Mick?

Same vacant eyes, toussled hair, gap mouth?

He definately doesn't look much like Luke though....

In what way do you mean?

In the way that people who use copyrighted/trademarked character names for their own benefit without giving something back to Poppa George tend to get a nasty letter from the Lucasfilm lawyers.

I hope that we get the extra head and arms so I don't have to buy two.

If Hasbro does cheap out and release Luke as TWO variants, it'd be just another example of why everyone is so mad at them.  They constantly cheap out lately: the plastic, the accessories, the variants.

Here's the original quote from back in February:

"Question: What's with Luke and that pose in the Dagobah wave?

Answer: The Luke figure in the Dagobah wave comes with an extra set of arms and head, so he does NOT always have to be posed doing a headstand.  Also, the Yoda figure is meant to interact with the Luke figure (similar to the Wampa and Luke Hoth).  The backpack fits on Luke and Yoda separates at the waist so that he looks correct when sitting in the backpack. "

EDIT: 'Scum now has pictures up and they are reporting that Backpack Luke comes first, with Handstand Luke in a future assortment.  Still no word on if you get both heads/hands with each version... but it's not looking so good.

Dang Hasbro!  >:(

I guess you have evidence that would seem to confirm that there are currently TWO packaging variants...

Back in February, the big H said in a Q&A that we'd get the heads and arms together, but it doesn't surprise me there are packaging variants.

I think you should go front page with the photo news saying that it seems there are TWO packaging variants of Dagobah Luke: Handstand from Lee's and Backpack from

Then, we can watch the crazies go crazy over at Scum complaining about variants and Hasbro and such... :)

It says on the back of Luke's card:

"Use backpacking head and arms and combine with Yoda OTC #02 figure (sold separately) to recreate the Dagobah scenes!"

That leads me to still believe that both heads/arms come with the one figure.

I wouldn't put it past Hasbro to do two different packaging variations like they did for the SA Clone though....

I think that who ever has "The Big Unit" on their roster should get bonus points in the Fantasy Baseball league for his perfect game... ;)

Hi All, has pictures up here.

The OTC  may have recards up the wazoo, but they sure are pretty cards.

The original Saga 03 re-releases sold through very quickly, but the Hall of Fame versions are starting to peg warm here in MN Target stores.

Vader/Stormtrooper/R2 sell very quickly...

3PO/Han/Chewie/Luke sell eventually...

Leia/Maul/Anakin/Yoda/Obi-Wan are sitting now....
