I just got word from a fellow collecting bud who ordered these. He had to talk to two people and eventually got a supervisor. That supervisor said they would send him some $3 off coupons to be used in store only.

So before you hang up with them if you call, ask to at least get some coupons for your trouble. It's just as good as the next thing.

And it's not like we aren't going to shop for toys again...

Not a perfect solution, but you get your money back in some form at least.

From wave two, I'm starting to see Luke, Han, Biggs, Rebel Honor Guard and DS Trooper hang around.

Really? Can you help me out with the Rebel Honor Guard then? (Ask Jesse about me if you need to, I've known him for awhile on our local boards-that crashed about a month ago.) In fact he and I have a pending deal for next weekend.

Suffice to say I can be trusted. I'm a mod on another collecting site. So I won't stake my rep on making a bad deal.

Hmm, I'm kind of both agreeing and disagreeing with Jesse here. I too was miffed when I found out that the helmet was not movie accurate. I really wasn't so concerned with the other inaccurate details.

However I also get it from Hasbro's POV. They made this more readily available by just slapping a paint job on him. For dioramas, it works just fine. I think the average person that knows the movies will know this is the Kashyyyk clone. For the more discerning fan, such as ourselves, yes, we'll know the flaws are there, but again in a diorama, they'll still look pretty cool.

Will Hasbro ever come out with a movie accurate version? Unlikely. If they do, I'll build that one up too. But, for now, I'm quite happy with the figure as it is. Perfect no, but it fills the bill for the most part. I do wish they would have packed a rifle in with it though, instead of two blasters.

I ended up really building this one up and was able to score from all over the place, calling in favors from fellow collecting buds from around the country. Of the 40 I have, I think I only bought 10 of them locally. Believe it or not, eBay was actually a good source for me on these and on most occassions I was getting them for retail or less, even after shipping.

Maybe that reflects on the people who didn't like the inaccurate sculpt. That's fine, as it made it easier for the rest of us.

Once again I have to agree with your assessment Jesse. I was highly anticipating this figure. So when I saw it come with the Mace squad I was a little torn. I was glad to finally have the figure, but really wanted it in movie orange first. Well thankfully we knew it would be in orange shortly there after so I didn't stress on it.

Thankfully he will be showing up in later cases, but not too late. IIRC, the last time he ships in the TAC line is with Wave 4.

Articulation is awesome with this figure and the sculpt is excellent. I have several myself, most bought on the net, but some I found in stores. I have enough for my Utapau force, so I'm happily passing on all the rest of these I see or I'd have had several dozen by now. (Jesse, if you still need more of these, LMK, and I'll hook you up at the summer social-which is to say the PSWCS or Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society summer social.)

I swear Anthony I think I know what you're talking about but I've been able to make all of mine stand...  I think I have maybe 8 or 10, i forget (It's been a bad couple weeks, haha), but I can get them all standing ok...  And at attention, or running...  My favorite pose with him's been this sort of crouched firing pose.  The skirt doesn't inhibit this movement much.

I'd buy a 2nd Marine with a cloth Kama someday though.  I dig the figure and would love a pile more with a little more mobility...  Still, I'm happy as-is too.  I think he's my favorite of Wave 1.

I'll agree with you here Jesse. This is an excellent figure. Minor flaws, but for me they are easily overlooked, except that dang rifle. Thankfully I have plenty of extra rifles from battle packs, so I can swpa the lower grade ones out for the better ones.

One thing I like is that the "dirt" on them isn't so uniform, so these actually look a little differnt from figure to figure.

We still have those, however 30AC in general is scarce...  :(

Wave 2 is non-existant, the lack of Wave 3 is not surprising...  We're still waiting on the 30AC deluge of '07, and it's friggin' June. :)

Oh I'm seeing wave two just fine, but none of the army builders. Okay a scant Death Star trooper here and there, but rarely a Rebel Honor Guard. Lukes and Han are abundant. Still seeing a bit of wave one on the pegs, but again, not much for the army builders. Not too many Airborne troopers, and hardly any Galactic Marines.

Thankfully there really is only the one AB in wv3, the Stormtrooper. But you just KNOW he's going to be impossible to find. Thankfully though, all the ones I mentioned that are HTF now are going to get easier to find, as they are being packed in later cases along with the new waves.

Amen to that...  I keep forgetting about the crap in Legends I actually want this year.  If battledroids are actually sturdy, my wallet will pee itself.  If not, that's a lotta moolah saved.

The Pit Droids are must-haves though.  I've wanted those for ages and wouldn't cave on buying them because I was "waiting for the hobby to die down".  Little did I know at the time...  So here we are and now I won't pay more than retail. :)

I'm right there with you Jesse. I'm looking forward to the Battle Droids and Pit Droids. If it is the cheapo plastic on the BDs, then I'll be very disappointed. I'm hoping the Grey Clone (Coruscant) Commander comes with the alternate belt to make him a grunt clone if we choose. Sure I can custom the Kama down to just a belt, but I'd rather not. Heck that little accessory is what's going to make or break me army building it.

Some of the figs I'm really looking forward to are Yoda/Kybuck, Roron Corobb, Han Solo (Bespin Torture Rack), any of the McFigs, and McQuarrie officer himself.

Malak's jawpiece is removable.  Later on at C4 Hasbro took that off and had Malak holding it.  It looks pretty creepy for him to be holding the collar and to see most of his jaw missing, but it does serve to make him seem that much more menacing.

Ooh, any pics of that?? I didn't see any pics showing that on ANY of the major collecting sites.

I know I'd purchase a few sets of battle packs that include generic officers.

For these themes, I'd go with 4-5 figures per set, retail for $20-25.

Here are the sets I'm thinking of:
Imperial Officer set (gray uniforms, like the Death Star briefing room sets)
2 Lieutenants  (two red and two blue pips on the tunic)
2 Commanders  (three red and three blue pips on the tunic)
optional Captain  (four red and four blue pips on the tunic)

They all have the same SA body AND all the heads (differnet sculpts) can be interchanged between them, giving us the option to  promote and demote figures at will. This would greatly increase our Imperial ranks without costing you much in toy development as the bodies are the same. It would be just the heads that are different.

Hoth Rebel Officers
Look at Luke on Hoth, he has three pips in diagonal formation. This denotes he's a commander. So nothing above that.
2 Ensign (1 red pip)
2 Lieutenants (2 red pips in diagonal opposite corners on the badge)
optional Commander (3 pips in diagonal formation)

Again as with the Imperials, make the heads interchangeable. Each should come with their own removable hat as well, giving us even more diversity

Again saving you money by having the same body, yet appeasing us by the vesatility of the set by way of head swap and hat/no hat.

We've really needed some generic Imperial officers in the gray uniform for sometime. Not every figure needs a backstory.

Thanks.

Found the whole wave last night. Got one of each, plus an additional Snowtrooper. That fig is amazing!!!

I would hate to pay $7+ for a little PK Droid. It would make more sence to make it a pack-in with Tey How or some other Neimoidian IMO. Aren't these PK Droids smaller than the Pit Droid? I thought they were only about knee high as the Pit Droids are about waist high. I could be wrong.
roron corobb

Yeah, PK droids are TINY. They'd make a great packin even if not articulated. Though I'd like at least 5 POA with them at least (shoulders, legs, head)

In comparison, Pit Droids are 1.19M tall
While PK droids are smaller (I don't have an exact height on them).
http://www.starwars.com/databank/droid/pk4/index.html

Compare the pics in the link for each doird and it's obvious the PK droid is smaller.

Likely we won't see these two or three to a card either, so as a pack-in to a regular figure, they'd do nicely.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: EE Mandalorian 14 Pack
« on: May 29, 2007, 07:59 PM »
Let the non-answers begin!

Is this truly 14 figs for $69 and change or is it two sets of 7 figures for $69+?

Two packs of 7.   When the item goes up for preorders on Tuesday at Noon (I AM THE PLUG KING) it will only be as a the full set at the special price of $66.99.   We will not be selling them individually or by the case on Tuesday at Noon, only as the "14 pack."

Will there be a female Mandos? (I understand if you can't answer this or any of the others, but I hope so. Some of those conept female Mandos look awesome.)

Will Boba and Jango be two of the figures in the sets?

If yes on Jango, will he be one fo the 14 point figures?

Are any of the following in the sets:
Montross
Jodo Kast
Jaster Mereel

If so which ones?

The rest of the characters will be revealed at Comic-Con, but I'll go ahead and throw you a bone-- no Jodo.  Llats Ward looks a lot like Jodo, but he ain't Jodo, and Jodo won't be in this set.  The characters in this set, by and large, look quite different from one another-- with a couple of exceptions.  There isn't another greenish Mandalorian in the set, take that as you will.

I'd keep going but well, it is being marketed as a bit of a mystery set.  (And don't forget EE lets you cancel any pre-order with no penalty if you order it on Tuesday and decide after the announcement that you don't much care for it.  Risk-free, yay.)  That's good enough for now, I think, so there ya go!

Ok so no Jodo. No other greenish Mandos. Good enoguh, that tells me no Jaster or Bobas either. Nice. Though I wouldn't mind Jodo or Jaster, I'm down for something different.

Good to know this is that price for the complete set of 14. THat's a SWEET deal.

So no female Mandos??
I want to see some Mando booby armor!!!

Heh heh, Jesse, I'm in the same camp as you brother.

None yet for me either. I'll get a few, 12 at most.

Jesse, I'd be happy to help you out with these as well. I know we're both army builders in Pittsburgh, but that doesn't mean we can't help each other out. Heck I'm taking those Rebel fleet troopers off your hands. I know you had a hard time parting with such an awesome figure there....(Sarcasm note clearly detected)

I'm getting three at least. One carded, one loose to display and one for my Pink 5 diorama....ok that last one is a stretch, but seriously I'm down for two at least and might buy more for toy donations.

It is charity afterall and I WON'T be looking for this as a tax deduction either. No offense to the person who said that, but personally for me, if I'm buying figures for the tax deduction, something is wrong with me. I'm of the belief that if you do something for chairty it's not because you get something out of it, it's what you can GIVE. (That being said we are getting something out of this in the form of a figure, so I won't look to get even more in the form of a deduction. Again I really mean no offense to that poster, I'm looking at this from my perspective for me personally, not anyone else. I just wanted to get my viewpoint out on it thought as well.
