I wish each figure came with some sort of usable diorama accessory... a chair, computer console, etc.

Not for me, but I don't collect that way.  If someone else does, I think that's for them to decide.

But is there really any meaning to any form of collecting? Isn't it all just the accumulation of stuff no matter how selective you may be?

Great point.  People should just enjoy what they want to collect, and not blast other people for how they enjoy their hobbies.

Or maybe, I do mean piss.

I'm guessing some sort of multi-pack with 7 or so figures.

I never could get into the Clone Wars because to me, it looks like an animated video game sequence.  There's some cool designs and all, but ever since this came into play, collecting hasn't been as fun for me.  I am not dreading the end of the series one bit.

That being said, most of what I've seen from the 2013 offerings seems like more of the same - heavy on repacks and slight retooling, with a few cool figures here and there.  Cutting corners when they can with the collector line (like not investing in new tooling for Phase 2 clone helmets), and definitely with the kids line in many aspects.

I have bought a little bit less each year anyway, but with life changes (2 kids now), I need to scale back regardless.  Hasbro putting less of an investment to reach collectors like me just makes it easier to spend less on their product.  They really aren't working harder like they used to for our dollars, which doesn't bother me as much as it would have 5-6 years ago.

What do you think happens when there are no more Star Wars figures to collect? Do we try to fill the holes in our collection? Does customizing become popular again? Just looking at the classic gaming sites, they seem to have moved to creating homebrews and finding obscure packaging variations of rare Atari games.

I wonder how much this hobby will change by then.

I plan on continuing to customize no matter what!   :)

2 figs and a mini-rig?  $25-$30 ?

The price is supposed to be $19.99.

I'm in for the MTT, as soon as the Wal-Marts around here finally stock it.  I've been looking at empty shelf spaces for it for at least a week now.  I assume TRU will get these in later too?

Crud, I haven't found squat for Thor around here.  If anyone finds a spare Sif, can you grab her for me?

If I see another, she's yours.  Do you care about card condition?

Oh, I'm sure they'll re-card Biggs on a TVC cardback too.  Same goes for that Ceremony Luke, if they think they can get away with it.

Found King Loki yesterday at TJ Maxx, and Sif today at Marshalls.  Both on beat up cards, but they'll be opened anyway when my son gets them.

I'd be fine with Lobot getting more articulation and costing around $10 - but that's mostly because I'd like to grab a few and pop them apart for customs.  He'd be great for Coruscant folk and average citizen-esque custom fodder.  I'd still keep one non-butchered though for my Cloud City dio.

As for Yakface, I definitely would buy several... one for the Palace dio, and several for customs.

A Cindel w/ Teek and Noah exclusive set would be awesome... with a companion set of the bad aliens w/ witch.  Hasbro would have a very cool set on their hands if they did that.

That was my impression of Derryl when I met him at TF.  Very helpful and courteous.

My impression from what I've read, heard, and seen on web videos is of a completely different DDP than my past perception... I was 100% impressed with the courtesy and humility I saw from him with CVI.  He's earned the benefit of the doubt from me going into 2013.  I just hope that he and their team truly have learned from their mistakes over the past couple years.
