Snagged the Series 3 Planet/Mini-Kit/Mini-Fig sets on Thursday, didn't realize they were shipping...

Ack!  Those have already hit?!  We just got our first glimpse of them a couple weeks ago at TF, so I'm surprised to hear they're already in stores.  Remind me, how many are in the new Wave 3?  Just 3 again?

I think I'm probably all in on these, at least for the OT figures.

I think I've decided to go that route as well - OT only.  It was bad enough buying all the prequel figures in the 4" scale.  Fool me once...

But the prior sets (with an extra figure, or two) were $45, IIRC, so hopefully these smaller and more recycled sets won't be quite that much.  These sets are definitely going further and further downhill each time now.  Which reminds me, I still haven't even picked up the two prior sets.  Are they still available at the park/Downtown Disney?  I was going to order them through that Disney Delivears #, but they wanted to charge like $30 to ship them - insane!

Picked up Skyfall today - anyone else?

But of course!  That beautiful 50th anniversary boxset felt a tad incomplete without the biggest earner of the bunch.  The question is, will I have the cojones to put the Skyfall disc into the empty slot in the boxset, or will I leave it in it's regular BD case.  Hmmm...

Finally took advantage of that $5 off Blu buyback program at Best Buy since I have most of collection out on display finally, but I ended up upgrading older DVD versions of other discs which was not my intention.  Hopefully on my next round or six I'll stick to new titles only that I don't have.

I went a little overboard on BB's most recent U&S promotion, to the tune of 61 titles.  It's just too much fun watching the BD collection grow while the DVD collection shrinks.  It really helped to have access to their Express Lane this time, which is where I ordered more than half of them (all the $9.99 stuff that's on their website, but never in the stores).  Looking forward to the next go 'round in April!  Hasbro sure is losing a LOT of my regularly allotted Star Wars money to Blu-rays now...

From JTA's Hasbro Q&A (Part 3) at Toyfair:

Quote
Question:  How many figures can we expect to see in the upcoming "Black Series" 3.75" line and how many will be brand new figures?

Answer:  There will be 19 figures (this year) and all are from the cancelled Droid Factory line.

So if that's accurate, I guess the better question is which two Droid Factory figures didn't make the final cut...  I'm hoping it's the Clone and Battle Droid.  Growing quite tired of those, I am.  I guess I'm OK with this news, since I generally hate "cancelled" items.  Sure, it means no new figure news for quite some time, but I'm enjoying the break, to be honest.

Sounds like the infamous Tonnika Sister(s) to me.

I think I'm going to change my guess to Boba Fett(s) - with 2 alternate paint jobs, perhaps (vintage & animated).  :P

A very interesting question indeed.

That's the kind of vague answer I'd get from my parents, so I'm guessing you're getting up there in years, in which case you've got no one to blame but yourself for not getting your shot.  Or perhaps your wife, who should know better than to trust you to know better...

Seriously regretting not getting vaccinated for the flu cuz man does this suck.

My doc's told me older people are far more susceptible to this illness and should really make every effort possible to protect themselves physically as they reach those more "mature" years, and that absolutely includes getting flu shots.  So I dragged my parents in for their shots last month just to play it safe.  I hate needles, and am young and healthy though, so I didn't sweat it.  How old are you?

I miss the ol' JD mascot.  Nearly 6 years since anyone gave it any love here - no sense of history 'round this joint anymore!  For shame...

I must be getting old and blind, 'cause I apparently missed all the posts that said the Disney deal took 6 weeks, and that toy licensing wasn't a factor.  Silly me...  :P

Just a photoshopped mock-up of R2 (too big), but I thought it was interesting nonetheless...

Lots of talk about Disney potentially being the driving force behind this new 6" line, but considering the fact that the Disney deal wasn't even finalized 'til just 6 weeks ago, could a new Hasbro line (even just 4 or 6 figures) really be this far along into production/distribution if that was the case?  Doesn't seem like that's possible to me, unless Hasbro's had some 6" stuff already worked up and sitting around in "the parking lot" for a while, waiting for some new impetus to get the line off the floor and out the door (like a new trilogy)...

As for the 6" line itself, I'm still trying to recover from the news of a whole new trilogy(s) full of upcoming figures to collect.  The announcement of this (beautiful, but overpriced) 6" line has my head ready to explode, I think.  After 35 years of collecting this stuff (less the '85 - '95 decade), like everyone else here, I'm running out of space!

Decisions, decisions...

If it happens, it's going to be a very, VERY popular 6" figure... or should I say figure set?   :-X

A VERY popular “figure” (not character), which can apparently become a “set” of figures…

Sounds like the infamous Tonnika Sister(s) to me.

I'd be pretty surprised to see such an obscure character(s) make it's way into the brand new 6" line so soon, but talk about a very clever (and cruel) way to attempt to lure in the 4” collectors, the completists, the OT purists, the background character enthusiasts, and everyone in between.  All I can say is that if that’s true, they sure as hell better eventually release them in the 4” scale at some point later on, 'cause if they don't, these two will look like freakin' giants in my 4" cantina diorama!
